New Clothing Sharing Site For the Fabulous Only
What brand names fill your closest? Old Navy, Baby Phat and Forever 21? Or Marc Jacobs, Prada and Gucci? If it’s brand names such as the latter, when you get tired of your old clothes, there’s a new site that allows you to cash them in for equally chic styles. According to Fast Company, Refashioner is the online sharing site for those with an expensive, high class taste in fashion.
QVC notes that the average woman has 22 items of clothing sitting in her closet unworn, with an estimated value of over $2 billion. While the less-expensive brands will most likely end up in clothing donations across the US or yard sales, Refashioner allows the chic clothes to gain new life and attention with a new owner, while the former owner proudly struts her new purchases. This is the site that would allow the fashion-conscious and somewhat spending-conscious woman to wear something new at any given time.
The peer-to-peer exchange site exclusively for luxury clothing, allows users to post photos of their unwanted clothing in an online customizable closet. Refashioner then prices the clothes. Once a piece of clothing sells, the site keeps $8 of the total purchase and the user receives money than can only be spent on the site. Users can also link their closets to other users with similar taste or tell the story behind an item of clothing.
Before you get too excited about Refashioner, the site comes with a haughty warning: “We have no patience nor mercy for knock-offs.”
Users with impeccable taste and an extraordinary clothing selection join on an invitation only basis. The creators hope the limitations will inspire an appealing sense of intimacy. With fewer customers, users will be given more attention.
The site is capitalizing on a wave of luxury online sharing sites, such as HiGear, an online luxury car sharing site and Exclusive Exchanges, which allows users to trade homes.

Style to Steal or Girl, Stop: Keri Hilson
Crayola Crayons.
That’s my first thought when I peep this outfit Miss Keri baby wore to the 3rd Annual WEEN Awards in NYC last night. Not that Crayola is a bad thing, because color is fun, but there is just soooo much color in the mix with this look that hey, it had to be said. But let’s get on with it loves.
So the very pretty singer-songwriter arrived at the WEEN Awards in this tight rainbow-lific dress that showed off her shape and probably had the “mens” in the place staring. The dress, which was a moderately long for what looks like a freakum-ish dress, had a bondage wrap look over the chest, was sleeveless, and offered a keyhole peeka-a-boo slot in the front. The dress was bright with splashes of pink, blue, and red, and all the colors are accented by black stripes. She finished off her look with black pumps, a short, very fun and framing blonde bob with some large spherical earrings. Plus, the makeup is pretty polished and fab as well. So what do I think? I’ll be honest. For an awards ceremony, I can’t really say this dress is all that appropriate. It’s literally a party dress to “do it, to it” on the dance floor. While I would never want to show up at an awards with my mom dressed like that, I can’t play her, she looks great. This look would win high marks with me if the stripes weren’t on the dress, but I’ll give it a pass because it’s fun. I don’t say “STOP” it, but I “sholl” wouldn’t steal it either…

Taking Your Man’s Style to the Wild Side
If your man’s wardrobe only consists of the colors brown, black, white and grey, it’s safe to say that his style is as dull as it gets. Not everything on his side of the closet should resemble the attire for an afternoon business meeting, especially as a young man. Variety is the spice of life, and funky colors, dope designs and wild prints on traditional business professional pieces definitely add some pizazz to a style-less fellow’s closet. Hook him up big time with a fresh pair of iced-out skull cuff links, a couple tie dyed dress shirts and ornately designed ties.

Unable to Stretch Further, Apparel Makers Raise Prices
(Wall Street Journal) — Shoppers will have to pay more for clothing next year as skyrocketing cotton prices force companies to take their chances with price increases even as consumer demand remains sluggish. Hanesbrands Inc, Jones Group Inc. and VFCorp. said they will raise prices for clothing set to hit stores early next year by as much as 10%. When cotton prices began their climb a year ago, retailers and manufacturers were unclear how much—if any—of the cost would be passed along to consumers. But with benchmark cotton now up about 80% since the beginning of the year, apparel companies say they no longer have a choice.
