Big Screen TV On The Wall, Who’s Most Ratchet Of Them All? The Worst Stars On Reality TV

May 15th, 2013 - By Davisha Davis

The phrase ratchet reality star almost sounds repetitious since there are few, if any, individuals on reality TV with redeeming qualities  But these stars here are some of the most notorious on the tube, and quite honestly, the worst 15-minute celebs we’ve seen in the past few years.

Stevie J

To put it simply, Stevie J is scum and think he’s God. Sorry to break it to you Stevie J, but you’re just ratchet. He has no respect for women and makes everything a joke (remember his strip club threats?) I feel sorry for Mimi and Joseline. They have a problem on their hands forever.

Started From The Bottom Now They’re Here: Freeloading Friends And Family Of The Rich And Famous

Whenever a celebrity first gets on, they, naturally, always want to introduce the people around them to the life of luxury they’ll soon be accustomed to. Some people get a house, others get cars, but then there are some family members and friends who make freeloading a way of life once someone they know starts getting paid. You know, they stop working like they’re they ones bringing home the bacon. Here are some of the worst offenders.

Lamar Odom’s Father

Lamar Odom’s father should be ashamed. He hasn’t been a part of his son’s life for decades. But as soon as he realized what he’s been missing, he returns with his hands out. That’s very tasteless. This poor old man was begging on TV for tickets to the game and whatever else he could stiff Lamar on. Lamar is being played because as everyone says,” you only get one father”.

What’s Up With The Egg Freezing Reality TV Fad?

September 25th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: WENN/VH1

I watch a lot of reality TV. Sometimes I’m thoroughly engaged in what I’m watching (pretty much anything on VH1), other times I consider it a part of my job (shout out to We TV), and on a few occasions I can’t find anything else on so I torture myself with mindless marathons (this is usually when the Karashians come into play). But lately I’ve noticed that no matter what channel or caliber of reality TV I’m watching, the same subject keeps popping up among women on the show: egg freezing. Seriously, discussions around the practice have become as commonplace as deciding whether or not to pick up the latest Birkin bag this season.

I was first introduced to this fertility fad, as I’ve now labeled it, getting my weekly fix of “Empire Girls” on the Style Network Sunday nights. Adrienne, at the ripe old age of 28, with no male prospects in site and a bad case of baby mania since recently becoming an aunt, made an appointment with a fertility specialist to discuss the possibility of freezing her eggs. After finding out there was a bit more to it than just having a lengthy, more invasive, pap smear, she decided to place her faith in mother nature and hope that when the time comes, her eggs will still be viable.

Khloe Kardashian had a similar reaction when she found out the true reality of everything that goes into the process, despite the fact that she’s desperate to start a family with her husband Lamar. Her sister Kim, however, (I know, I’ll make this quick) had a different response when she looked at the state of her love life in contrast with her aging 32-year-old body. For her, this whole thing doesn’t seem so bad. I’ll get back to you when I’ve made up my mind about whether that’s because it will give her a new story line on E! or she really does dream about someone calling her mommy one day — and taking an annoying number of twit pics of them.

If you’ve been tuning into “Braxton Family Values” and Tamar and Vince’s new show, you’d know Tamar has already gone through the freezing process for medical reasons and is on a far less scientific hunt for a surrogate to carry the little Hubert they hope to bring into the world one day. And though the episode hasn’t aired yet, on this premiere season of Chrissy and Jim Jones’ new spinoff, it appears the 40-plus reality star is thinking about giving egg freezing a go as well. I realize this procedure is an amazing option for women who can’t get pregnant the good old fashioned way, but does anyone else find it odd that nearly every woman on a reality show is contemplating this decision? It’s not like this procedure just became an option for women in the last year or two, it’s been around for years now.

Not that anyone should be taking their cues from “reality” TV, but as my co-worker pointed out, all the fuss she sees these young women making over freezing their eggs has made her just a bit manic. She wonders if her 30-year-old childless fate is sealed, as she informed me of a host of other TV women who are contemplating this choice like the former countess on the “Real Housewives of New York” and even the “Real World’s” Diem Brown who has to have this procedure done in order to conceive. In most cases, the way these women go about their decision-making process hardly conveys the seriousness of the choice. Being able to afford to freeze one’s eggs is just one part of the battle— and one most real women in fact can’t afford. But the process isn’t as simple as dropping a few stacks on a fertility specialist’s desk and getting your own drawer in a lab refrigerator. The emotional toll is often quite heavy on women, in part from the hormones they are pumped with to increase egg production, and for most real, non-celebrity women, there is also the issue of accepting that they can’t have a child naturally — even though they are grateful to have this other option.

You could say these women are reflective of of the growing population of career ladies who decide to put off children until they’re totally ready — as though having 20-something-year-old eggs will make everything else with their aging body alright, not to mention their male partner whose age also plays into the child’s health. They might even be somewhat similar to the women who are choosing to get married and consequently have kids later in life, but the causual way some of these ladies talk about the choice just makes it seem like another (unfortunate) Hollywood trend as simple as picking up a carton of eggs and popping them in the fridge. I don’t really care how you go about becoming a parent so long as the child is appropriately cared for, all I’m saying is I’d like a new storyline please.

Have you noticed the craze over women freezing their eggs seems to be at an all-time high on reality TV shows?

They’re Baaaaack! Trailer For “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” Drops With Baby Drama, Tears, And Some Bridal Moments…

September 5th, 2012 - By Clarke Gail Baines

Source: Vibe Vixen

Last week we told you that the reality show, “Chrissy & Mr. Jones” is going to replace the now defunct “Ev & Ocho.” In the process, we also showed you a clip from the upcoming series, which will showcase the lives of Chrissy Lampkin and rapper Jim Jones outside of their “Love and Hip Hop” friends (and enemies) as they try to build said lives together. In it, we saw the couple discussing Chrissy’s hopes to put baby plans on hold, and Jim’s (and Mama Jones’) disappointment at her choice. In the longer clip that has been released, we see what a full season will be like, and it includes more baby drama, relationship drama (it looks like Chrissy moves out!), and some shots of SOMEBODY’S wedding. I won’t directly assume it’s Chrissy and Jimmy’s, but after all the fuss she made over getting engaged, it would be nice if they could knock some nuptials out quickly. Anywho, check out the full trailer from their upcoming season and let us know if you’re excited to watch their drama unfold. And yes, we know that with Chrissy there can be nothing but that. If you’re down for the clowning and the love fest, you already know where to catch the show, and it premieres on Sept. 24. at 9:30/8:30c.

Switch! “Chrissy And Mr. Jones” Replacing “Ev And Ocho” On VH1

August 29th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Vibe

Net Monday Chad and Evelyn’s 30-minute reality show, “Ocho and Ev” was supposed to premiere on VH1. We all now why that’s since been cancelled, but the good news (or even better news to some of you non-fans) is VH1 is replacing the show with a different one about another one of the network’s interesting couples, Chrissy and Jim Jones.

If you caught the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion Monday night then you might have already peeped the teaser for the new show, “Chrissy and Mr. Jones.” Though the episodes won’t start rolling until September 24, the show will fit nicely into VH1′s Monday night fall lineup, debuting in the 9:30 pm time slot after “Basketball Wives LA” and “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle.”

Unlike the “he won’t put a ring on it” dilemma that characterized the couple on the New York version of “Love & Hip-Hop,” since Jim did finally propose, the spin-off will capture how Jim and Chrissy are settling into the newly engaged life and apparently planning, or at least thinking about having a baby. Sounds like another race against the clock— and of course Mama Jones is up in the mix.

Check out the teaser here and tell us what you think. Will you watch the show in a few weeks?

Evelyn, Chrissy, Tamar and Kandi Cover Vibe and Talk Star Jones, Violence and That Petition…

May 22nd, 2012 - By Victoria Uwumarogie

Source: Vibe

For the June and July issue of Vibe, the good folks at the magazine made the random decision to have four very controversial reality stars on their cover: Evelyn Lozada, Tamar Braxton, Chrissy Lampkin, and Kandi Burruss. With the hilarious header, “Meet Your New Role Models,” (sarcasm with a twinge of painful reality in their voice) the ladies, dressed in very little, smile for the cover of the “Swexy issue.”

While the cover and images might have the men smirking and smiling, the interview was allegedly meant to allow the women to explain their less than ladylike behavior on television. Inside the magazine, the ladies were asked about everything from Star Jones and the “Basketball Wives” petition, to show producers orchestrating the violence and drama. Check the highlights:

When asked about Star Jones and the petition to get “Basketball Wives” off of the air:

Evelyn: [Bursts into laughter] I think she’s going to have to get a whole lot of names. Actually, I like the petition and I like the controversy because I’ve learned controversy is good. But I think she’s irrelevant. And she’s using our coattails to get relevant again. Nobody gives a f**k about her.

Chrissy: Whatever Star Jones is feeling is a little deeper than what she sees. I think she has her own issues.

Kandi: She may not be violent, but I’m sure she goes off on people in her day-to-day. I just don’t think it’s fair to block somebody from getting money.

On the misconceptions about Evelyn and how they’re disappointed the positive aspects of their lives don’t get shown:

Evelyn: Yeah, I happen to be throwing a few things. It’s frustrating because, on the other hand, I’ve also done positive things like charities with kids. It’s unfortunate because those things don’t seem to mean anything.

Chrissy: It bothers me [too] because it’s not all of who I am. It’s a part of who I am. It’s also something that I’m working on because who am I to put my hands on somebody else?

Tamar: I just wanna address the biggest misconception with Evelyn. She’s not just beautiful on the outside; she’s a beautiful soul. I believe that people who want to make a difference in our community should be shown [doing so]. Sometimes, with our shows, you only see that [negative] side, but Evelyn will give you the shirt off of her back.

Evelyn: It’s tough because if we were only doing positive things, people wouldn’t want us. But if I say, “Tamar, you’re a stupid f*****g b***h,” people love that.

Kandi: That’s because we’re a real life soap opera. You know how your family watched All My Children for 20 years? That’s what we are now.

On producers being the instigators of the violence you see:

VIBE: So you’re saying the producers orchestrated the violence?

Chrissy:
Absolutely. They would go as far as telling the new girl, “Chrissy thinks she’s Queen Bee around here so we need you to step up because nobody here has a strong enough personality. We need you to shut it down.” They were feeding people this negative energy from the door. I have no reason to lie.

Kandi: If [the producers] know this person and that person don’t get along, they’ll be like, “Okay, we want you guys to go to lunch.” They know if they have a conversation about what’s going on, something’s gonna jump off. But nobody can make you physically punch somebody in the face. We end up doing that to ourselves from people being real disrespectful in the way they’re speaking to each other, pointing fingers all in people’s faces. Some people just can’t take that.

On regretting their actions AFTER the fact of course…

Chrissy: Absolutely. It’s like, why did I let them get me that angry? It’s compromising to your soul because I didn’t sign up for this, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna allow somebody to make a fool of me because the cameras are rolling.

Evelyn: I do and [the bottle incident] was one of those things where I was like, “That was wrong.” The producers of the show could have edited that out but I take full responsibility. I mean, [Kenya] has kids at home.

And the big question: Does Evelyn’s daughter watch the show? And if so, what are her thoughts?

Evelyn: Yes, but if you know my daughter, you’ll know she doesn’t care about any of that. She’s very independent. She knows who mom is. And to her, mom is a character on a television show. [My daughter] knows that side of me because she’s seen both sides. The world hasn’t. But I take full responsibility for everything that I’ve done. It’s all me.

Tamar: This is what I’m saying—it’s not negative, because she learned from it. The beautiful part about it is that somebody can watch it and not make the same mistake. ’Cause sometimes when I watch Kandi, I wish I could be more like her. You’re never like, “Pop, pop, pop!”

Kandi: It takes a lot not to. The reason why I can be [so drama-free] on my show is that I wasn’t friends with [my castmates] before I got on the show. So anything they said didn’t matter to me. Tamar, you’re around your family, so you care.

Tamar: I mean, this is me, but if you family—cousin, brother, mother—you come at me crazy and I’m gon’ jump at you crazy.

Well all right. Not really sure what they were trying to do here, but it doesn’t give me an “ahaaaaa” moment or make me want to hug these women. In the end, after reading things over, they seem to want the controversy for the sake of getting paid, and want us to know, that hey, it is what it is. This is who they are and they’re indeed human. While it’s nice that they try to take responsibility for their own actions to an extent, they really don’t, because they turn around and say it’s the producers creating the drama. They probably are stewing the pot behind the scenes, but they’re not the ones forcing folks to fling bottles at people, stomp each other down in hotel rooms (over OTHER people’s business), and to be “popolicious” all the damn time. But I digress.

To read the interview in full, pick up the new June/July issue of Vibe, or you can go to their site and read the rest of what these chickenheads ladies had to say.

7 Celebrity Chicks that Love Around The Way Guys

From StyleBlazer.com

LL Cool J let it be known that some guys want an “around-the-way girl,” but some ladies also want an ‘around-the-way guy.’  Don’t good girls always seem to love bad boys.  Then again, so do bad girls.  We rounded up seven ladies who are as crazy about their “around-the-way” boos as they are about their designer gear.  Hmmm, we wonder whose fashion sense has rubbed off on whom.  In some cases, it’s crystal clear which partner sets the couple’s style ablaze (and pssst, it isn’t always the woman!).

Will You Watch? Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin Snag VH1 Spinoff

April 16th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Keshaphotography.com

This news is something most of us probably thought would happen but then after the way Chrissy and Mona Scott-Young seemed to be beefing during the “Love and Hip Hop” season 2 reunion we figured it was a rap. Well, it appears both Jim and Chrissy were calling VH1′s bluff by saying they wouldn’t be exposing their lives in front of the cameras anymore because rumor has it, they are set to star in their own spinoff show on the network.

According to a source over at Mouthtoears.com, which the site says never fails them, Jim and Chrissy  got:

“Green lighted by VH1 for five to seven 30-minute episodes of straight Jones ( which they are supposed to be filming now).”

The source says Jimmy and Chrissy refused to deal with Mona in the project and requested that she not be involved. At the same time, they sort of thew Mama Jones under the bus because word is her show will be scratched and she’ll appear on Jim and Chrissy’s spinoff instead, which currently has the working title of “Jim and the Family Jones.”

With no Chrissy on “Love and Hip Hop,” the cast has been reduced to Olivia, Yandy, Kimbella, and reportedly Erica Mena. Since Emily B.’s name is missing from that list I have a feeling that one, she’s following in the footsteps of her best friend Chrissy by leaving the show, and two, she’s probably trying to get her own show starring her and Fab, which there have been rumors of.

Either way, I can admit I wouldn’t mind tuning in to a Jones lovefest once a week, and without Yandy or Somaya on the show, Chrissy really shouldn’t have any reason to fight—although I feel like she may find one anyway.

Would you watch “Jim and the Family Jones if this news is true?”

Solange Talks Submissive Women and Being a Chrissy Lampkin Fan in Complex

Another day, another opportunity for Solange Knowles to take over the world. If you don’t think she’s well on her way to doing so, then you probably haven’t peeped out her new spread in the current April/May issue of Complex (I ADORE that magazine by the way). In it, she gets fierce and funky in her usual wild prints and with a full fro, and she also talks about everything from reality TV, her cool a** parents, and being a submissive woman versus being too independent. Check it:

When asked whether she could see herself on Project Runway for her style or on Love and Hip Hop just because, she had this to say: “I’ve never seen Project Runway, but I’m a huge Chrissy [Love & Hip-Hop star Christine Lampkin] fan. I’d need to take boxing lessons from her first though, nahmean?”

She also made it clear that while she loves being independent, behind closed doors, she’s all about being submissive: “Strong, independent women share this sentiment of wanting to be taken over sexually behind closed doors. It’s the natural balance for a woman like me.”

And she even touched on why she would have preferred to know her parents when they were young rather than to know them now. Why? Because they were pretty hip. Or at least Miss Tina was:

“My mother was the most stylish, flawless woman I’ve ever seen. My father had a little cool, but my mother was a different breed of cool. I’ve looked through photographs of her that inspire me today. She’s partied at Studio 54, hung out in ski chalets in Colorado, and played Cleopatra in a play in Egypt. She’s insanely cool in her 50s, but I wouldn’t pass up being with her in her prime!”

Chrissy Lampkin Finally Speaks on Pregnancy Rumors

March 19th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Reality Tea

Around the time “Love and Hip Hop” wrapped it’s reunion there were rumors nearly half the cast was pregnant. Kimbella confirmed hers, Yandy still hasn’t said a word, and now Chrissy has finally spoken on whether her and Jimmy have a little bun in the oven.

Today, she uploaded this twitpic saying:

“By the way that’s my sonogram…… Now you know !!!!!!!”

Before you click, don’t get too excited…the “sonogram” is really a pic of two empty martini glasses, meaning if she’s drinking there’s no baby kicking.

A source supposedly told XXL back in February that Jim and Chrissy have been trying to make a family for years unsuccessfully, adding:

“Jim and [Chrissy] had basically given up… they were like if it happens, it happens.”

For now it looks like it’s not happening and Chrissy’s OK with that.

So, so far we have one confirmed yes and one confirmed no on the “Love and Hip Hop” baby bump watch.  I wonder what Yandy’s answer will be?

Were you hoping Chrissy would be pregnant or did you care either way?
