Newborn Girl Found Buried Alive In Los Angeles

On Friday (Nov. 27), Los Angeles officials found a newborn baby girl buried alive underneath nearly a foot of debris in a Compton creek and are searching for answers to this disturbing act.

According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the authorities received a call that afternoon about a crying child in a riverbed from two women who were walking along a bike path near the site. Responding deputies later found the infant from it’s muffled cries from a riverbed located between 136th Street and Slater Avenue at 4 p.m.

The baby girl is said to have been 36 to 48 hours old when the authorities rescued her. “The baby was wrapped in a blanket and cold to the touch’,” the sheriff’s department said.

After being safely removed from the asphalt and debris, the newborn was hospitalized in table condition where she will remain for observation.

While authorities are still on the hunt for the parents of the girl, Sgt. Marvin Jaramilla of the LASD weighed in on the incident offering that the Safe Surrender law allows parents to drop off their newborn at any hospital or fire station confidentially within 72 hours without fear of prosecution.

Angel Flores, a nearby resident, told NBC Los Angeles, “They could have done the right thing, and instead they came and dumped it here.”  “I don’t know the situation they have or what’s going on, but this is not right. This is not human,” he concluded.

According to detectives, the person(s) who did this, if found, could be charged with attempted murder and child endangerment.

Every reality TV star has some skeletons in the closet that are bound to come out once the cameras start rolling, but some skeletons are far worse than others. Case in point: disturbing news that has just surfaced about the father of “Love & Hip-Hop” star Yandy Smith’s baby and her rumored fiance, Mandeeces Harris.

It appears Mandeeces is awaiting trial after being accused of having inappropriate sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl in Lodi, New Jersey two years ago. The 34-year-old who now appears alongside Yandy on LHH is charged with performing various sexual acts with the girl and inappropriately touching her at his former home there.

According to North Jersey’s The Report:

Bergen County prosecutors allege that Harris asked for and received oral from the girl and fondled her on various occasions between September 2009 and April 2010. He was arrested later that year and charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and child endangerment. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

Mandeeces is free without bail which is why he has time to appear on Love & Hip-Hop, but on Wednesday the jury was selected for his trial in Hackensack and opening remarks are expected to begin January 29.

Since it took me a little while to put these pieces together in my mind, let me lay out some background details for you. Yandy and Mandeeces have been together off-and-on for six years which means he caught this case while they at least knew each other. Whether they were on at the time is currently unknown, but it’s surprising that she would have a child with this man while these serious legal allegations are flying around, let alone bring him on the show with her, and furthermore, seemingly get engaged to him.

Even more disturbing is the rumor floating around that the 15-year-old girl in question is the daughter of a woman Mandeeces has another son by. Sure this girl isn’t his biological child but the creep factor there cannot be denied. This also makes his and Yandy’s relationship seem super suspect. How long were they off to be having a child with someone else and racking up this kind of charge? Still, this situation also raises the question of whether there’s potential here for bitter baby mama strife and Mandeeces is innocent. I can’t fathom any other explanation for why a man who has remained behind the scenes this long would suddenly step in front of the cameras with all of this going on. I’m also curious whether Mona Sott-Young knows about this. Yandy, girl, good luck.

Mother Faces Jail Time for Forcing Son to Walk 5 Miles to School

Remember the guilt trips grandparents used to try to give when they talked about walking X number of miles through the snow and over the hill to get to school? Well if that happened today, their parents might get locked up, as an Arkansas mother is facing up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine for making her 10-year-old son walk nearly five miles to school.

Normally Valerie Borders’ son, Nequavion, takes the bus to school but when his bad behavior forced him to lose his riding privileges for the fifth time, the mother chose to teach her son a lesson by making him walk to school. But one morning Nequavion happened to be spotted by a security guard while crossing a bank parking lot and when the police were called, they took the boy to school, then contacted the mother and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child. According to Jonesboro Police spokesman Sgt. Lyle Waterworth, Valerie’s punishment crossed the line.

“You ask yourself the question, ‘is that safe for the child?’ And if you wouldn’t want your child doing it, we probably don’t need somebody else’s child doing it,” he said.

‘There were a number of things that could have happened to the child. The child could have been injured or abducted.”

I’m assuming this spotting must have occurred in a mostly deserted area, otherwise there was no reason for the security guard to stop the boy and assume anything suspicious in the first place. It seems like the police are sticking their nose in where it doesn’t belong and that could have huge consequences for the mother. If Valerie didn’t discipline her child and he got into worse trouble, I bet the officers wouldn’t be so concerned about his well-being then.

What do you think about this case? Was the mother’s punishment out of line? Should she get jail time?

Ratchet Granny Leaves 1-Month-Old Grandson by the Side of the Freeway

It would be better if Kit Samuel was losing her faculties and that caused her to leave her 1-month-old grandson by the side of the freeway Friday, but the reality is grandma knew exactly what she was doing and she was coming right back, so she figures, what’s the problem?

Kit told Fox 40 Sacramento she had been evicted from a Motel 6 and had carried her grandson near an onramp to Interstate 80 and left him there to go back for her belongings. Arguing that she was no more than 500 feet from the child at any point, she said sheriff’s deputies overreacted.

“I dropped him off and just walked back across the street to get my stuff right there on the platform. I didn’t leave him to go back to the room or nothing,”she said.

The arresting officers told her leaving a child that young alone for any period of time is dangerous, and she now faces charges of child endangerment and public intoxication—charges she plans to fight.

“I will plead not guilty,” she said. “I did not endanger my grandson. I love my grandkids.”

In case your wondering where the public intoxication charge came from, the baby was found on top of an open bottle of Brandy, let’s just say it didn’t take police long to make the connection between her behavior and booze. I’d say grandma Kit can kiss her freedom from this “big misunderstanding” goodbye.

Judge Orders Counseling for Halle, Gabriel, and Nahla

January 31st, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

A judge has decided to wait for results from the child endangerment investigation being conducted by the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to address Halle Berry’s request that daughter, Nahla, be kept away from her father, Gabriel Aubry. But he has taken into consideration suggestions put forth by the department which include mediation that would allow a third party to meet with Halle and Gabriel to figure out how they can raise their child peacefully going forward.

Halle is reportedly receptive to the idea, and plans to continue her own individual counseling to deal with this situation, but Gabriel? Not so much. He did agree to go to counseling for his anger issues and both parents said OK to sending their 3-year-old daughter to counseling, but Gabriel is apparently having so much trouble accepting the other recommendations put forth by children’s services that the judge is considering holding a full hearing so that he can issue his own judgements.

So far, no ruling has been issued regarding the nanny Gabriel fired and was allegedly abusive to, but overall things aren’t looking good for him. The more receptive Halle is and the more resistant he is, he just ends up looking like the bad guy to the judge and the public.

Do you think counseling for Halle, Gabriel, and Nahla is a good idea?

Baby Daddy Drama: Gabriel Aubry Investigated for Child Endangerment

Gabriel Aubry has issues—legal ones. Halle Berry is reportedly due in court today to request that her child’s father not have any contact with their 3-year-old daughter, Nahla, until said legal issues—an investigation into accusations of child endangerment and assault—are resolved.

Alliance Kamdem, a nanny hired by Gabriel, claims the French-Canadian model repeatedly yelled and cursed at her, often in Nahla’s presence. She also says Gabriel would make her sit in a corner in his condo until he called for her, and that he often yelled at Nahla as well, causing her to become scared and cry. The nanny also alleges that when Nahla had a rash her father refused to treat it; now the the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services has gotten involved and plans to conduct a child endangerment investigation.

On top of all of this, Alliance quit her job last week after Gabriel allegedly shoved her. She also claims he’s yelled racial epithets at her.

The only response Gabriel’s rep has given on the matter is that “Anyone can file a police report at any time, regardless of it being accurate.”

Well, hopefully these accusations aren’t.

Do you think the judge should honor Halle’s request that Gabriel not have contact with Nahla until this mess is cleared up?

Drunk Man Needs a Designated Driver, Enlists His 9-Year-Old Daughter

October 19th, 2011 - By madamenoire

Many of us have been there: you’ve either been asked to hold the burden of being the designated driver for the night, or you’ve had the tough task of duping someone into being the DD so you can ditch taxi fees. But it’s safe to say that you wouldn’t look at your child, whether they’re over 16 or not (who cares?), and say, “Honey, you’re taking the wheel tonight.” But a Michigan man proved how low he could go. The man had his 9-year-old daughter, boosted up in her seat, drive her father to a gas station at 3 a.m. on October 8. According to CNN, the man was seen and heard on surveillance tape telling the gas station attendant, “She drives us here. Nine years old, in the truck, we’re here. She drove all the way here.” What a proud dad, huh?

Once the two got back in the car, a witness called police. During the call, the man told police she was staying on the road,  using turn signals, and that he couldn’t believe it. Now, could he not believe that she was driving altogether, or that she was a GOOD driver? That is the question (kidding). In the end, the daddy and daughter were stopped. The father refused to take a breathalyzer, and he was charged with one felony count of child endangerment, a misdemeanor count of child abuse and habitual-offender fourth offense based on previous convictions, according to CNN.

Daddy wasn’t the only one pissed off about being stopped and arrested it seems. When the cops pulled the two over, the little girl said to police, “What did you stop me for? I was driving good.” Judge for yourself though, because video of the little one driving at the gas station has been provided below, thanks to the good
