After two decades of marriage, it looks like another celebrity couple is throwing in the towel.
Sara Kapfer, wife of actor Cuba Good Jr., filed for legal separation with the L.A. County Superior Court yesterday, TMZ reports. It’s unclear specifically what caused Sara to want out of the 20-year marriage, but in her divorce filing, she cites irreconcilable differences. The estranged couple share three children together, two of which are minors. She is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the children. According to court documents, child support arrangements will be determined at a later date.
Cuba and Sara were high school sweethearts. They officially tied the knot in 1994. Just last year the actor gushed to “The View” hosts about celebrating his 20-year anniversary with Sara.
“She has been changing to this other woman that I have to introduce myself to every few years,” Cuba explained during the 2013 interview. “And thank god I’ve fallen in love with each one. It’s true. I’m lucky that way.”
As sweet as that sounds, he did, however, jokingly add:
“I want to kill her sometimes.”
It’s unfortunate that these two couldn’t find something in their 20-year marriage worth saving, but maybe this decision is for the best.
We’ve known for a while now that “Single Ladies” lead star Denise Vasi is no longer a single lady in real life. The 30-year-old actress jumped the broom with 40-year-old video director and photographer Anthony Mandler in October, but she’s only know giving us a glimpse into her big day with a Bridal Bliss Exclusive on Essence.com.
We live for Essence’s engagement and wedding photos and Denise’s wedding day photo gallery is no different. Set in a vineyard in Santa Ynez, California, Denise and Anthony’s album includes a mix of sentimental poses and fun candids, all with the Latina star glowing in her beautiful Kleinfeld Bridal dress. Check out the pics below and head over to Essence.com for a few more shots. What do you think?
Not every woman is interested in dropping her last name after marriage or even taking their husband’s name at all and quite a few leading ladies had no problem keeping their maiden name entirely. There was no hyphenation or dropping of anything, because the name they were born with was perfectly fine. Unlike these women who kept their husband’s last name after divorce, these women didn’t bother making the change to begin with.
The diva of all divas, Diana Ross, has been married twice and kept her last name during both marriages. She married music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein in 1971, which led to divorce in 1977. She remarried billionaire shipping magnate Arne Naess, Jr. in 1986 and divorced in 2000. The last name Ross rings bells across the world so it makes perfect sense that she hasn’t changed it.
Remember when Terrence Howard told us he’s nothing like his “Best Man” character Quentin because he falls in love fast? Well, now we actually believe the actor’s words as a report has surfaced claiming the 44-year-old has just married again for the fourth time.
The lucky — or unlucky — lady, depending on how you judge Terrence’s dating history, is allegedly a Canadian woman named Miranda who he’s only been dating for one whole month. As shocking as that is, the timeline actually makes sense since Terrence hasn’t been legally single all that long. In May, Terrence and his second wife, Michelle Ghent, were finally officially divorced after a bitter battle and plenty of nasty allegations. Michelle filed for divorce from Terrence just one year after they jumped the broom, accusing her husband of abusing her and seeking a restraining order against him. Terrence fought back with accusations of his own saying Michelle was a racist — as if that justified his behavior.
Either way, if this story is true Miranda apparently doesn’t care about the actor’s rocky relationship past, which also includes marrying and remarrying his first wife, Lori McCommas. Radar Online claims a source close to the actor told them Terrence’s latest marriage is “not out of character,” adding:
“It’s another one of his outlandish moves… he only knew and/or dated her for about a month!”
Radar also claims Terrence brought his new wife along to premieres for “The Best Man Holiday” and when we look at pics we do see a wedding band on his ring finger. Guess congrats are in order after all.
Sweet Love: Monica And Shannon Brown Celebrate Three Years Of Wedded Bliss With Vow Renewal Ceremony
A couple of months ago Monica and Shannon Brown welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. Now, they have one more thing to celebrate: their third wedding anniversary. The “Love All Over Me” singer shared a video to her Instagram page yesterday of herself and hubby, Shannon, exchanging rings in a beautiful, yet romantically simple vow renewal ceremony.
“Happy❤️Anniversary❤️SB❤️I am often times in awe of you!!! I fell in love with you the second our eyes met & everyday since I’ve thanked God for allowing me to experience a love that is of him,” Monica sweetly wrote.
“You have always put the children & I above all else & you constantly remind us we are not alone,” she continued.
“We love you endlessly @shannonbrown26 each day my heart smiles watching you effortlessly be a great father & husband❤️I Love You #ForeverAlways 11-22-10 #Wedding1 #NoOneKnewWeSaidIDO.”
They’re such a lovely couple. Back in 2011, the then-newlyweds told ESSENCE that they make their love work by never allowing their busy schedules to compromise family time.
“We’re together a lot because I think you make time for the things that are important and our marriage is important to us. So we make time, all the time. At a video shoot Shannon and I go in my dressing room and order the food we want and just spend time talking to each other and getting to know each other even more. Every day is a new day, so it never stops. You never stop learning each other. Sometimes the best moments are just the quiet ones,” Monica said.

Future knew what he was doing when he chose a beautiful 15-carat emerald cut diamond ring by Avianne & Co for Ciara. Yes, she had the birthday celebration that many girls dream of. Reality star LaLa Anthony is sometimes referred to as the First Lady of the NBA due to her marriage to New York Knicks small forward, Carmelo Anthony. But when you ask the 34-year-old Brooklyn native which perks she believes married life has afforded her, she admits that she’s just happy to be married to her best friend.
“Well you know for me I’ve been with my husband for 10 years now and we’ve been married for three and after all those years really much doesn’t change when you get married—but it is something inside you that knows, ‘I’m somebody’s wife now’ and that is a little bit of a bigger responsibility,” she told The Jasmine Brand.
“But, I’m married to my best friend and I’ve been with him for so long… since we were kids in a sense, so it’s great that I’ve been with the same person for such a long time,” she continued.
She also offered a few words of advice for young girls.
“I would just definitely say just be confident in yourself, be a leader not a follower. You know nowadays—I even see it with my nieces, so many of these girls are talking about each other and being catty and hating on each other—why not get together and support each other and uplift each other just like we do at an event like this. You know you get so much further that way than ‘kinda’ trying to bring people down.”
Sounds like great advice!

“I felt different [being engaged], but it’s great. It’s a great situation and I’m happy about it. I’m excited about it. I know she’s super happy. I feel good to be able to make someone happy,” Future expressed. He went on to reveal that he has been planning to propose to CiCi for awhile now, and that he was just waiting for the right moment.
“Yeah, she was definitely surprised. I’ve been planning it for a minute too. I well thought about the ring. I was just taking my time with it. I wanted it to be special for her.”Ciara also dished on the relationship, revealing why she decided to take a chance and go public with this relationship after having negative past experiences.
Thankfully, the “Body Party” singer says that she has found a way to overcome those fears.“You know what it is, I’ve had my experience over the years and I’ve been able to learn a lot. When you do step outside, you put yourself in a position where people are gonna be able to judge and they can criticize and they can give their opinions. That’s something I used to always fear,” CiCi said.
“I’m kind of in a place where I’m facing my fears. I’m running towards my fears. I’m running towards the things that make me uncomfortable because I feel like, if I live my life based off of those things, I won’t live my life the way that I’m supposed to and I won’t live it to the fullest. I feel like you really have to live your life for you.”The bride-to-be adds that Future has made her comfortable enough to take that leap of faith.
“That’s where I am at this day and time in my life. And I’m with someone who makes me extremely comfortable to feel that way, which is really important. And the way he makes me feel is like, ‘Why Not?’ If you love somebody, you should express it. And now I understand that. Before I’m thinking I’m trying to protect it, but realizing that I’m really only making it more complicated or I’m really only harming the situation. There’s nothing s*xy about hiding your love. There’s nothing s*xy about people not acknowledging each other. There’s a lot of stuff that I’ve learned and it feels so good to be free in that.”How sweet! It’s hard to not be happy for them. Though Pharrell Williams has been quite vocal about his feelings for rumored wife, Helen Lasichanh, the couple’s wedding plans have been top secret. Word on the street is that they officially married in France back in August, but the pair have yet to officially celebrate their union with family and friends. Well, until now, that is.
Page Six is reporting that the alleged newlyweds will officially celebrate their nuptials this weekend at a swanky shindig at Miami’s Tropical Botanical Garden. The guest list reportedly includes Robin Thicke, David Guetta, Gwen Stefani and Paula Patton. Jay Z and Justin Timberlake are also rumored to be performing.
According to reports, the lavish party will be held outside and guests are asked to wear “garden party attire.”
“Pharrell has worked with everyone. He just produced Miley Cyrus’ album, he has worked with Beyoncé, Madonna, Shakira, Daft Punk, Kanye West and Jennifer Lopez. Half the music business will be there,” said one insider.
Pharrell and Helen have one son together, Rocket Man Williams. Pharrell often boasts that becoming romantically involved with his best friend was one of the best decisions he has ever made.
“It’s awesome. I can’t tell anyone what to do. I can’t give anyone relationship advice, but the bestie thing is awesome. Yeah [she's my best friend]. Every night is like a sleepover,” Pharrell gushed this past summer.
Congrats to the beautiful couple!
