Tamika Fuller Denied New Custody Trial: “Every Day That Passes When I Don’t Have My Daughter Feels Like Eternity”
The day after we ran Tamika Fuller’s heartfelt essay on her custody battle with Ludacris, the mother of the rapper’s youngest daughter was set to appear in court in request of a new trial in hopes of winning back custody of her child. Unfortunately, Tamika was denied a new trial and when we reached out for a statement on her case she told us this:
“Sadly, on April 9th the judge denied my motion for a new trial. Every day that passes when I don’t have my daughter feels like eternity. After being discouraged with the court system, I decided to share a personal account of my situation on Madame Noire, it was never meant as a media blitz but rather my side of the story in protest of my daughter being taken away when I felt powerless against her father’s machine. My side had not been shared up until this point and rumors that I was a bad mother or receiving 7k/month child support or asking for 15k were distressing me, none of which are factual. I’m back to working full time, but even that isn’t enough to cover the many expenses that come with this fight. I was hesitant to set up a Gofundme page but since my story ran I’ve received overwhelmingly supportive feedback from women and mothers across the country who have offered assistance and want to help with launching my organization. I plan to use donation money to start setting up my non-profit “No Mother Left Behind” with a mission to educate, enrich, enlighten and empower low income mothers and also to help bring my own daughter back. I’ve read and appreciate all the messages, prayers and similar stories that I’ve received. You have all made me feel less alone. We are all in this together. Thank you.”
As Tamika pointed out in her original essay, she is far from the first woman to have a child with an entertainer and find herself embroiled in a nasty custody battle so we reached out to Tamika’s lawyer, Lisa West, to get some clarity on the situation and advice on what other mothers in similar circumstances can do to protect themselves and their children. Here’s what she told us:
MN: In your opinion, what was the deciding factor that led to Ludacris being granted sole custody of he and Tamika’s daughter?
LW: I believe the deciding factor was money: Ludacris has it; Tamika does not.
MN: Why was a new custody trial denied? What next steps will you take now as a result?
LW: The judge gave absolutely no reason for denying our motion for a new trial. Our next step will be to appeal.
MN: What is the basis of your argument for why Tamika should be granted custody?
LW: Tamika should be granted custody of Cai because the evidence is irrefutable and undisputed that she has always been the primary parent of Cai and has always been a wonderful parent to Cai. Tamika, through great sacrifice and dedication, has dedicated her life to being Cai’s parent and Cai has thrived under her nurturing and care. Ludacris, on the other hand, has not dedicated his life to being Cai’s father. He is most often absent, making appearances, during which times he delegates his parenting responsibilities to third-parties.
MN: Do you think Tamika’s case is representative of a larger issue in the justice system in which money and power overrides what’s right?
LW: Absolutely. It is difficult to believe that our “justice system” can be influenced by money, power and wealth, but it is true. When one Googles “family court corruption,” the search results referencing tainted family court cases are overwhelming; and, very disturbing.
MN: What advice would you offer women who might find themselves in a similar situation?
LW: I would advise them to attempt to formally settle the matter before going to court by retaining an attorney who does not have the reputation of colluding with the opposing party for the attorney’s own benefit and who is willing to challenge the system. I would further advise them to be ready to fight for as long as it takes.
Judge Allows Tyrese’s Ex-Wife To Take Their Daughter To Israel—Even Though He’s Afraid That She May Not Return
Last week, we told you that Tyrese attempted to put a stop to his ex-wife’s vacation to Israel because she plans to bring their daughter along. As previously reported, the singer feared that Norma Gibson would not return 7-year-old Shayla because Norma is actually a citizen of Israel.
Apparently, a judge didn’t see things this way because according to TMZ, Norma has been permitted to take Shayla with her to the Middle East. Earlier today, Tyrese was instructed by the courts to hand over Shayla’s passport to Norma for their trip. The two are scheduled to depart on March 27. They will be gone for two weeks.
Norma has agreed to make Tyrese aware of their itinerary for the trip. She has also made it clear that she has strong ties to Los Angeles and that it’s completely unreasonable for her ex-husband to consider her a flight risk.
Tyrese and Norma tied the knot just 10 months before filing for divorce in 2009. Prior to saying “I do,” the two were together for nearly seven years. It’s unclear why things unraveled the way that they did, but the singer has accepted at least part of the blame for their demise.
“I learned that sometimes marriage doesn’t work. When you get married you vow to share your life experiences with someone else. If you happen to be as busy as I am, your mind and spirit is all you have and if anything is taking away from that on any level then it might be time to re-evaluate that situation,” he told Essence in ’09.
Hopefully Norma providing the singer with a play-by-play of the trip will calm the waters. We’re also hoping that he hands over Shayla’s passport without a fight so that this doesn’t become any more difficult than it needs to be.
Ludacris Child Custody Case May Be Reopened Because He May Have Failed To Disclose Eudoxie’s Pregnancy
In January, the courts granted Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges primary custody of Cai Bella Bridges, his one-year-old daughter with former lover Tamika Fuller. A little over a month later, the Furious 7 actor and his new wife, Eudoxie Agnan, announced that they’re expecting a baby. According to a new motion entered by Fuller’s attorney Lisa West, Bridges failed to disclose Agnan’s pregnancy to the courts so Fuller is requesting a new trial.
According to TMZ, Fuller’s attorney is also arguing that Bridges isn’t the best parent because he has hired a nanny to do most of the hard work. Sandra Rose is reporting that the recent motion was entered Thursday evening at the Fulton County Courthouse.
Last week we told you that Bridges briefly addressed the case and Fuller’s defense team’s attempts to discredit his parenting abilities by dissecting his lyrics. Attorneys for neither Fuller nor Bridges immediately returned our requests for comment regarding her recent motion, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as new details emerge.

Ludacris Breaks Silence On Custody Drama: “People Will Use Whatever They Can To Try To Paint A Picture Of Who You Are”
Speaking of custody wars, it’s been a little over a year since we first learned that Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges fathered a child outside of his relationship with now wife Eudoxie, but the Furious 7 actor hasn’t really said much publicly about the court case. However, during a recent interview with Vibe the father of two briefly touched on the scandal.
While in court fighting for custody of his infant daughter Cai Bella Bridges, the attorney representing Cai’s mother, Tamika Fuller, apparently attempted to use Luda’s lyrics against him. To that, Luda had this to say:
“People will use whatever they can to try to paint a picture of who they think you are. It’s as simple as that. Same thing as when Bill O’Reilly tried to tell me what type of person I am based off my lyrics.”
He went on to say that to the untrained ear, his lyrics don’t confirm anything about who he is as a person nor do they say much about the kind of parent he is.
“All I can tell you is that hip-hop is a coded language. It’s very misunderstood. If you don’t speak the language, then you’re only assuming that you know what we’re talking about. But you don’t, so there you have it.”
Back in January Luda was granted primary custody of Cai and as we just reported a few weeks ago, he and Eudoxie are expecting their first child together. He is also the father of 13-year-old Karma Bridges.

Tyrese Gibson and his ex-wife Norma Gibson are heading back to court.
According to TMZ, the Furious 7 actor recently filed court documents asking that a judge put a stop to Norma and his 7-year-old daughter Shayla’s upcoming vacation to Israel as he fears that he’ll never see his kid again.
In the documents, the singer explains that Norma is actually a citizen of Israel and should she decide to stay there permanently, the Israeli government will do nothing to help him get his daughter back.
Apparently, he attempted to get Norma to sign a contract prior to the trip which would have obligated her to return Shayla to the States by a certain date and if she failed to do so she would lose custody. Norma, however, refused to sign. A family court mediator is reviewing the case and will determine what the rules are. Their trip to Israel is scheduled for March 27.
This is only the latest installation in Tyrese and Norma’s custodial saga. The two have been at it for years and yet, they still can’t seem to get it right. The feud even spilled over into social media at one point.
“In California the custody laws are set up to make you a victim of your own success,” he vented a couple of years ago. “I won’t give up on my daughter and I refuse to walk away.”
We’re hoping they’re able to get it together soon.

Massive Debt, Claims Of Child Abandonment Behind Tamika Fuller Losing Custody; Luda Celebrates Decision On IG
We shared with you yesterday that rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges ended up winning primary custody of his daughter, Cai. This decision has left Tamika Fuller with only visitation after raising the 13-month-old as primary guardian all this time. The news was shocking to a lot of people, who expected that Fuller would be able to maintain primary custody, especially after hearing the story she shared of the rapper allegedly bribing her to have an abortion. But it wasn’t a shock to Ludacris, who seemingly celebrated the custody news by posting this meme on Instagram last night. It was about the truth:
People who follow the rapper had a mixed reaction to his straightforward message:
“You ain’t shit for that.”
“I’m truly upset about this. The mother must have been doing something right if she has been raising the baby from the beginning and the baby is healthy and not hurt. Money truly is the bigger evil.”
“you are dead wrong. GOD is watching. I’ve lost respect for you.”
“Good job Luda, it’s about time men got some justice instead of getting screwed over by these gold diggers”
“Still love you eff everyone else. Karma is growing up to be a beautiful young lady so I know you’ll do great with this one.”
“You don’t interfere with a child’s right to know their father and without a toxic environment being created. Judges don’t make this move lightly but they will when it’s NECESSARY!”
Since the news broke, reasons why Fuller lost primary custody have surfaced. According to an exclusive report from Bossip (who contacted a source in the courtroom when the decision was handed down), shaky finances and questionable parenting of her first child were a big issue for presiding Judge Dorothy Downs. It was an issue of “her instability versus his stability.”
The judge said Fuller’s $800 a month salary as a housekeeping supervisor for a national hotel chain couldn’t compare to the lifestyle her millionaire rapper baby-daddy – and his new wife, Eudoxie – could provide the tot.
During the three-day trial, the judge heard that Fuller disappeared for a few years after the birth of her eldest daughter, leading to questions about child abandonment.
The judge also recommended that Fuller get a better paying job. It came out in court that Fuller’s expenses are four times her $800 a month salary.
Based on the decision, Fuller will get to see Cai 11 days out of each month, but Bridges will have her for the rest of the time.
Despite allegedly requesting that Tamika Fuller have an abortion after finding out that she was pregnant with his child, Ludacris has been designated as the most “fit and proper parent” for 13-month-old Cai Bella Bridges by a judge.
According to People, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges was awarded primary custody of Cai on Monday after an ongoing court battle with Fuller. She was granted visitation. In an exclusive statement given to the magazine, Bridges shared his thoughts on the decision:
“After review of all the evidence, the testimony of the witnesses, the report of the guardian ad litem, and the claims made throughout this entire case, I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter.”
But as previously mentioned from a court hearing, according to Fuller, Bridges asked her to get an abortion when she shared the news of her pregnancy:
“I told him the same day that I found out. He was not happy. He cried. It wasn’t that he wasn’t happy because he did say, ‘This wasn’t something that we planned. Let’s move forward and get an abortion. We’re not going to have a family. The baby is not going to be with the mother and the father in the same house. This is all bad.’ [He said] it would ruin his life. It’s going to ruin his career.”
Bridges would allegedly go on to try and offer Fuller thousands of dollars and a house to keep quiet, and a little over $900 to cover the cost of an abortion.
But according to People, these type of comments may have hurt Fuller. Bridges reportedly claimed that Fuller damaged his reputation as she sought increased child support payments from the rapper. He reportedly used her statements against him and public inquiries into his finances as an underlying reason why he would be able to provide a better environment for their daughter to grow up in. But there were obviously deeper reasons behind this decision, aside from a few statements here and there about him. In the end, Ludacris will be the primary guardian for their daughter, and it looks like Fuller will have to provide child support.
Fuller and Bridges conceived Cai while the rapper was in a relationship with longtime girlfriend Eudoxie. They were able to carry on their relationship despite his cheating, and after popping the question to Eudoxie in December, he married her on the same day in Costa Rica. Cai is Bridges’ second child and daughter. He has a 13-year-old daughter named Karma from a previous relationship.
We told you over the weekend that after feeling fed up with his situation with Eva Marcille, fed up with their issues keeping him from seeing his daughter, Marley, and being super fed up after watching Marcille flirt with Wale on Instagram, Kevin McCall found himself venting on social media. He basically said he was giving up on fighting to see his daughter, and was instead, leaving things in God’s hands:
“See you 2019 my princess [kiss emoji] God got it [praise hands] I surrender it ALL to him it is out of my hands Father in the name of Jesus I relinquish it ALL to you. Bless my children life’s not fair.”
Though he would quickly delete those comments, he left up video clips on Instagram of phone conversations with Eva. They can be heard arguing about why she won’t let him see Marley, feeling threatened by him, and a lot more.
It was overshare to the max, and in a brief chat with The Breakfast Club this morning, McCall explained his recent behavior, his troubled custody situation, and whether or not he really did all the things that caused Marcille to seek a restraining order against him.
Why He Insinuated That Wale Had Herpes, And What Made Him Apologize
I never spread a rumor that Wale had herpes. All I said was, ‘I’d never be jealous of a man with herpes. Drop the mic.’ But whoever got offended by it, that’s up to them.
I got a call from him and he came at me respectfully. So I felt like, the bigger high road thing to do was to just apologize. To not make it bigger than what it needs to be.
I insinuated it. So, this is what ya’ll gotta think about: If the shoe fits, wear it Cinderella.
Why He Lashed Out At Wale And Eva
I just been going through it with my baby. I miss my baby. I feel like Wale is one of my colleagues. I feel like with us going through our stuff in our private life, she shouldn’t be doing stuff like that. And as for him, I didn’t say anything about him. I said something to her on his page, but I didn’t say nothing about him. If I had something to say about him, I would have said it to his face. He know how I get down.
How He Will Deal If She Dates Men In The Entertainment Industry
That’s cool. They just have to deal with her baby daddy. I’m not trying to cause trouble, but it’s just gotta be a certain type of guy around my children.
On The Allegations Of Domestic Violence Towards Eva
A lot of my side wasn’t public because we made a deal that we weren’t gonna talk about it. And when that deal was broken by her representatives, you know, saying some crazy stuff about her safety and this and that, I started catching on to what was going on. I didn’t want to break my silence until I knew what was going on, because I still loved the girl at the time. I feel like family is important and you can’t let the devil come in and tear that up so I wanted to fight for mine. I felt like putting her out there too early was just gonna hurt my baby, cause that’s her mama.
Why He Said On Social Media That He Would See Marley In 2019
I said that because I had a recent conversation. I’m not going to talk about what was in the conversation. Basically, that was thrown in my face to basically hurt my feelings because I was saying ‘If you do fear for your life, let’s go to a police station and talk. Or lets sit down with mediation and talk and figure out a date or things I can do to just meet with my baby. That’s when she said, ‘Nah, you can’t see her ’til 2019.’
On The Last Time He Saw Marley In-Person
Sometimes she’ll let me pick her up and take her to church, but it’s probably been like a month or so.
How Allegations Of Abuse Have Affected Him
I wish society would stop jumping so much to the side of anyone, whether it’s male or female. Domestic violence is nothing to play with. It’s not something to just put on a man or woman. Restraining orders are not something to just play around with because it did mess up a lot of my money. And it was not true. I’m here to say it was not true.
Very tricky and sad situation. Hopefully they can come to some sort of medium so that Marley can have access to the both of them without drama. Check out his chat with The Breakfast Club below…
And check out his new song, “Naked Truth,” which is on this very complicated situation. It’s not bad!

Deion and Pilar Sanders will go down in the history books as one of the messiest celebrity breakups of all time. It seems like they’re in the news– mostly Pilar– bad mouthing each other or talking about their equally messy custody battle. And apparently, this week is no different. But now, someone’s going to serve some time.
According to the Dallas News, today, Pilar was sentenced to seven days in the county jail.
After hearing from witnesses and attorneys for Deion Sanders a judge found Pilar in contempt for failing to return her children to Deion after visitation and for taking possession of them when she shouldn’t have. These actions were in violation of the former couple’s divorce decree.
Initially, the judge sentenced her to 30 days in jail but then suspended that sentence for a year.
As she was being taken into custody, Pilar said she objected to the day’s proceedings. Earlier, she appeared before the judge with no attorney, saying she was there under threat, duress and coercion. She told the court,“I am not a part of the United States corporation.” Pilar had no witnesses to testify on her behalf and when the judge asked her if she had any questions for Deion’s witnesses, she said, “I stand mute.”
The hearing pertained to two accounts violating the divorce decree and the defamation suit Deion filed against Pilar last month.
The judge ordered that Pilar remove any statements that could be construed as damaging to her ex husband from social media. That case will come to trial on March 2.
Deion testified that the NFL has investigated Pilar’s allegations, which she’s posted on social media. Sanders said the nature of the posts have threatened negotiations to renew his contract and are jeopardizing his livelihood.
The judge also ruled that Pilar should not have possession of the former couple’s three children until further notice from the court.
During the hearing Pilar cited several legal statutes, saying she did not recognize the jurisdiction of the court. And when asked to give her name on the witness stand, she said: ““I am Pilar Sanders Love El Dey Allodial Moorish American.”
Deion testified that this past summer, after her visitation with the children had expired, Pilar did not return them. A police officer testified that he made three trips to her home attempting to return the children to Deion. The first time no one answered the door, the second Pilar would not allow the deputies inside and the third time, the officer had authority to enter the home by force to retrieve the children.
The officer testified that during their interactions, Pilar said that she was a Moorish American, under the laws of Morroco and the laws of the United States did not apply to her.
Once the children were returned to Deion, she filed a kidnapping complaint with Child Protective Services (CPS), who contacted the police. Because the court ordered the children to be taken, the authorities did not pursue charges. Another CPS investigator found that Pilar’s allegations of abuse and neglect had been investigated and ruled out.
I don’t have much to say. The story basically speaks for itself. But I will say I would love to ask Deion how he didn’t see these glaring red flags before he married Pilar?
We told you earlier this month that rapper Tyga (of Young Money) and Blac Chyna (formerly a dancer at King of Diamonds) split after linking up back in 2011. We also told you last week that Blac Chyna took to Twitter to let it be known that she was loyal to the wrong person (a “f**k ni**a” as she put it), and that she never stepped out on the rapper during their relationship.
So things between the former couple aren’t so copacetic at this point, and according to TMZ, they’re only getting worse. It’s being reported that Chyna and Tyga are at odds because she wants the rapper to keep other women that he brings around for ‘fun’ away from their 1-year-old son King Cairo.
Tyga has reportedly started throwing pool parties with all kinds of women present as their son is inside the rapper’s home. While they both allegedly told one another that they wouldn’t bring their son around people they’re not serious about, word is, Tyga’s already reneged on that.
However, sources close to Tyga are reportedly claiming that Chyna has already started spending time with new men too. Whatever is happening, things have become so complicated between the former couple that they’re threatening to take their issues with one another to court for custody of King Cairo.
Let’s hope things don’t get ugly between these two…
