Tamar is the Braxton sister we either love to hate or hate to love. She’s definitely an acquired taste. But in a recent interview with Ebony.com, Tamar shed some light on why she is the way she is. If you watch Braxton Family Values faithfully, you may remember the episode where Tamar remembers how she was in two abusive relationships, back to back. She told the story of how one boyfriend drug her out of her apartment by her hair. (Sounds like something out of a Tyler Perry movie.)

Here’s what she had to say about the relationships:

“I can’t make anybody believe, I can’t change anybody’s mind about anything. (The abuse,) it happened. I’m not all the way comfortable with sharing a lot of what happened to me (yet), but what I said was true. When I’m ready to talk about my abusive past I will, I’m sorry that I’m not. But if it wasn’t for (God), I wouldn’t be here.”

She said being abused and feeling like she had no power or say in her relationships “definitely, definitely, definitely” play a role in the way she interacts with people today. She says wanting to attack before she can be attacked is a defense mechanism.

“I haven’t always been vocal about my feelings, especially in a relationship. Now, I make sure that I’m very vocal about my feelings, everybody knows how I feel.  Sometimes it’s over the top and most of the time it’s ‘Team Too-Much,’ But I have to do a lot. (I was) a shy person who had self-esteem issues trying to figure it out — now,  I’ve gotten over my hangovers. You say, I’m comfortable and confident, it took a long time to get there. Maybe like a year or so before “Braxton Family Values,” I wasn’t that person. I was faking it til I make it, pretty much.”

It seems like it was just yesterday when we reported that Tamar Braxton and hubby Vincent Herbert were expecting their first child. Now it appears that the little bundle of joy will be here in no time! Over the weekend the parents-to-be celebrated their upcoming birth with family and friends at their adorable backyard boogie baby shower. It goes without saying that Tamar’s fabulous sisters were in attendance. The guest list also included Tamar’s mom Evelyn, Flex Alexander and wife Shaniece, T.I.and Tiny, Tami Roman and Omarosa just to name a few. The 36-year-old “Love & War” singer took to her Twitter page last night to semi-gush about her shower.

We take it she had a great time!

*If ever there was a time to be private, childbirth would be appropriate. Ain’t no body got time for that!

But Tamar Braxton wants to share the experience with her fans and followers via the next season of “Tamar & Vince.” Maybe this episode should be called, “Tamar” because she’s moving forward with the taping of those precious, gut-wrenching moments despite her husband’s wishes.

“My husband’s not comfortable with any of this,” she stated with a giggle before collecting her thoughts. Tamar is a little more open to the idea because she feels that it’s only right to continue bringing fans along for the rest of the journey that she started last season on “Braxton Family Values” and her own spin-off.

If you’re a fan of Tamar & Vince or Braxton Family Values, you know that the road to parenthood has been long for expectant couple Tamar Braxton and Vincent Herbert. Chances are you’ve heard Tamar yapping about not wanting a baby right now, to entertaining to idea of “popsicle babies” and even dramatically asking her big sister Towanda to carry her baby as a surrogate. Now that the youngest Braxton sister is with child and preparing to give birth very soon, she says that it would be unfair if she didn’t allow fans to witness it. During a recent interview with Hip Hollywood, the “Love & War” singer dished on why she wants to allow cameras in the delivery room and had a good laugh about her bestie Tiny spilling the beans on her baby’s sex. Check out some of what she had to say.

On Tamar & Vince cameras in the delivery room:

“I think we’re going to let them in as much as we can. You don’t want to bring your viewer all the way to the point where you went through In vitro, then it didn’t happen like that and it happened naturally. I just think it’s a story to tell and not to tell the whole story is kind of unfair. But you won’t be looking in my purse! My purse is off limits. I don’t even wanna see inside my purse!

On Halle Berry’s pregnancy: 

“The one person I can look at and be like ‘Damn, she looks good’ is Halle Berry. I think she’s like 4 1/2 [months] because her little bump came out of nowhere. I think she’s killing it. She’s amazing. She’s 46 years old and you know she’s about to shut everybody down. I can’t wait to hurry up and have mine [laughs]. Halle Berry we are not going to compete with you. No thanks.”

On Tiny spilling the beans about her baby’s sex:

“I seen it [the video] and I cracked up. I thought it was funny. I can’t confirm or deny because I don’t want to tell anybody [laughs]. But you can believe whatever you wanna believe. What I will says is, until you hear from me, you should believe what I say! Tiny, I love her to pieces. She’s crazy. She’s so fun. I don’t think it was malicious. I won’t hold anything against her because I don’t think she spilled any beans.”

With already Braxton Family Values and Mary Mary on WE tv (and oh yeah, if you were watching, Tamar & Vince), you can say that the cable channel for women is becoming the reality TV channel for black singers. And with all the success they’ve had with just those programs in just a few years, who can blame them for wanting to keep the money train going? That’s probably why the folks at WE tv have decided to help SWV, the very huge girl group from the ’90s (now extra grown women) with their comeback, as the ladies, or Sisters With Voices, are getting their own reality show on the channel. The show doesn’t have a name as of yet, but according to the site AlwaysAList.com, what you can expect is that viewers will finally find out why the ladies, Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Tamara “Taj” Johnson-George, and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons, parted ways musically in the first place in 1997. On top of that, it will also follow the ladies in their quest to become relevant once again in the new R&B scene, and we’ll also get a glimpse into their personal lives. They reportedly filmed a pilot for the reality show last fall.

We know that the group reunited in 2005, have been touring sporadically and just this past November they performed together during Black Girls Rock! They put out a new album early last year called I Missed Us, and it actually did well on the Billboard charts, coming in at number one on the R&B charts, so they still have a strong fan base. Now will the fan base tune in to watch their reality show? We’ll have to wait and see, but there’s no doubt that the ladies are ready to be seen once again by all.

Last month, we put Tamar Braxton on official baby bump watch after she made an appearance on 106 and Park wearing a rather baggy one-piece  Matthew Williamson jumpsuit. This morning while she and her sisters were promoting the upcoming season of Braxton Family Values during an appearance on Good Morning America, the “Love and War” singer confirmed that she and hubby Vincent Herbert are expecting their first child!

“I have a love on top. I’m pregnant,” she gleefully told the audience.

“I feel great and greedy at the same time. This is the most I’ve eaten ever,” she continued.

As far as how soon we can expect for a little Tamar or Vince to enter the world, the mom-to-be says the baby will be here in no time.

“I don’t have that many months to go. Almost there!”

She also posted an adorable photo of Vince holding her baby bump to Instagram and Twitter with a caption that read:

“#BeEpic!”

Fans are ecstatic about the news and her Twitter mentions are filled with well wishes. This is amazing news for the couple as they have each expressed interest in starting a family.

In other Tamar Braxton news, during an interview with Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club, the youngest Braxton sister revealed that she will not be returning to Tiny Tonight.

“I’m not on that show anymore. Well you know, I only actually agreed to do two from the beginning. Because Tiny and I are really, really good friends. Everyone knows that. So like I told her I would do it and that was it. I’m saying that I wasn’t scheduled to do it in the first place,” she said.

She also expressed that she definitely has a problem with Claudia Jordan.

“Hell yeah. Even with your girlfriends, you just can’t sit up and talk about somebody’s man like that. You know what I mean?”

Ironically, Tamar is known for running down her sisters’ husbands, which they quickly pointed out.

“I’m growing,” she humorously replied.

It’s been a long time coming for Braxton Family Values star Tamar Braxton. If you know a bit about her musical history, you know that she hasn’t had the best of luck as far as record deals go. According to TV One, in the past the 35-year-old singer reportedly signed deals with Dreamworks Records, Tommy Mottola’s Casablanca Records and Universal Records. Unfortunately, none of those deals really worked out for the youngest Braxton sister. Late last year, Tamar inked a deal with hubby Vincent Herbert’s Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records. But that also seems to be old news, as the singer appears to have recently signed a deal with Epic Records.

No official announcement has been released on behalf of Tamar or Epic, yet. But, on the company’s website, Braxton is listed among their roster of artists. The singer’s highly anticipated album Love and War was scheduled for a February 2013 release, but was pushed back for unknown reasons. Whether or not the label change had something to do with the release of “Love and War” being delayed is unknown, but it is certainly a possibility.

On iTunes, Braxton’s popular single, “Love and War” rose to the top of the charts within hours of its release, selling 84,000 downloads during the first week, in addition to debuting at number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Recently, the single was briefly removed from the iTunes Store. After it was put back up, “Love and War’s” publisher was listed as Epic Records.

So far, the rescheduled release date for Tamar’s new album has not been announced, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted!

It looks like Tamar Braxton could possibly be joining the celebrity mommys club soon. In celebration of Valentine’s Day yesterday, the “Love and War” singer, accompanied by supportive hubby Vince Herbert paid a visit to the “livest audience” over at BET’s 106 and Park. During her visit she chatted it up with the hosts about her upcoming album and how it feels to work with her spouse, played a cute little game called “Know Your Boo” and treated the studio audience to a live performance.

Now we could be overthinking things, but what’s interesting to note about the youngest Braxton sister’s appearance on the show, is that overall, she made a lot of side poses. Not to mention the rather baggie Matthew Williamson one-piece jumpsuit she wore, which caused many eyebrows to raise. In addition to all of this, sources who were at the show tell the YBF that between filming, Tamar’s stylist continuously came out to adjust the waistband of her jumpsuit, as if they were attempting to camouflage or hide something. You know, like a slightly protruding baby bump!

As previously stated, we could be overthinking things and thus far, these are all speculations. But, doesn’t she appear to glowing as well? That would be wonderful news for Vince, who has made it quite obvious that he’s ready for a little one and she is the only Braxton sister that hasn’t had children yet. It seems that only time will reveal whether or not Tamar is a mommy-to-be, but we’ve officially got our eyes on “her” and we’ll keep you posted!
