Atlanta-based pastor Sabrina McKenzie is about to enforce the stereotypes of the lavish lifestyle of preachers as she is scheduled to star in a new reality show, “Big Rich Atlanta.”

As controversial as it sounds, the God-fearing shepherd is coming up from a background of secular dancing. She was a huge success, touring with Bobby Brown and TLC.

In the wake of Whitney Houston’s tragic and untimely death, rumors swirled that her only daughter that she shared with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina had been dating her god-brother, Nick Gordon. For a while the murmurs were nothing but mere rumors, but they were made valid after the two were spotted out together over and over again. Their chemistry made it clear that the two were an item and this was even further confirmed when the two announced their engagement during an episode of  The Houstons: On Our Own. 

The Houston family made it clear that they were disapproving of Bobbi Kristina’s relationship with Nick because Whitney had raised Nick as her own son and the two were like brother and sister, although an episode of the show reveals that Nick and Bobbi Kristina actually met in high school, became best friends, and Whitney took him in after his mother kicked him out. Either way, I’m sure the Houston family is leaping for joy as news that the two have gone their separate ways broke this week.

Nick Gordon took to his Twitter page to confirm that he and Bobbi Kristina are no longer an item.

“@REALbkBrown and I are not engaged or dating. Just close like we have always been.”

Bobbi Kristina also used her Twitter page to confirm the break up; however in a more roundabout way through cryptic and subliminal tweets.

“Who do I trust in this world? Pfft well that’s easy beezie, #Myself, No1 will kno’s me like ME&They’d rather not take thtchance2knoME, &2me.”

“That’s incredibly fine .. Because you’d be missing out on a #REALperson Xxo #armyofme #onmywon #goingtomakeit#determined”

“I guess it’s time 4me2stop depending on anymore. It’s my time2follow what Mom&The Lord put out on this path for me. #Thankful. Mom xxo.”

Many speculated that Nick was simply using Krissy for what she could give him and while that can’t exactly be proven, it certainly makes sense. The details surrounding this entire relationship seem super sketchy and über messy and it is probably best these two have chosen to throw in the towel.

Just last month Bobby Brown was bragging about being 22 days sober while simultaneously denying that he checked out of rehab early. Now with news that the New Edition singer has been arrested for yet another DUI, that point seems null and void. According to TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us, Brown was pulled over around 1AM when police observed the singer driving erratically on an L.A. street.

According to law enforcement sources, officers approached Brown’s vehicle and detected a strong odor of alcohol — at which point they asked Brown to get out of his car.

We’re told Brown performed a field sobriety test, but didn’t do very well — so he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He’s currently being booked.

Though it’s much easier to get a DUI than some would think (just hit up a happy hour for one drink, drive home, and see what happens if you get pulled over) but the trouble here is this isn’t Bobby’s first time being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence — this year. Almost 7 months ago to the date, Bobby was arrested for a DUI in Reseda, CA after blowing between a 0.08 and 0.12 when pulled over.

A judge may give you a harsh slap on the wrist the first time you mess up but two DUIs in one year, plus a history of drug and alcohol abuse and rehab? New Edition might have to rework their material again because I don’t see Bobby being available for tour anytime soon. He needs to check into rehab for one of their lengthier stays.

This saga never stops…and they’re going to be on television?

In case you haven’t heard, Cissy Houston and her daughter-in-law Pat Houston filed a motion earlier this week to modify Whitney Houston’s will that would change the schedule of the distribution of the estate. But now we’re hearing more about why Cissy is so concerned about her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina receiving so much money so quickly.

According to sources who spoke to TMZ (who probably has a tap into your family and mine with the millions of sources they have), Cissy thinks that the inheritance could have such negative influences on Bobbi Kris that it might actually bring fatal results.  The first set of such  influences, they’re told, are Bobbi’s boyfriend Nick Gordon and her dad, Bobby Brown. Cissy allegedly believes that both of these men would quickly drain her finances. The second influence is that Cissy just thinks she’s too impressionable and might go a little wayward if she isn’t monitored.

Further, both Cissy and Pat believe that Bobbi Kris isn’t mature enough to handle such a large sum of money, an estimated 20 million dollars.  Although the scheduled date for the release of funds hasn’t been made public, they believe that by waiting until she’s able to understand what it means to be fiscally responsible with that type of money.

There’s really just too much going on too fast with this family. Cissy Houston insists that all she’s trying to do is protect her family, and that might be true, but it is all getting sort of ugly. Whitney’s death happened only 8 months ago and the Houston family has been in the press for the majority of that time.  A judge has yet to make a ruling in the motion but no matter how it ends, I hope they’re able to come together as a family and not let money pull them apart.

All I can think to say is brace.

Bobby Brown is something of a mess when you just read about the things he does off-camera so I can’t even imagine what it will be like to witness his everyday antics on television again. I won’t have to imagine for long though, because media outlets say another reality show with the troubled performer is happening.

The LA Times reports that BET is preparing a new project with Bobby that will revolve around the singer’s life and business. The business part isn’t what we have to worry about so much. Just this summer Bobby released another album and he also still regularly performs on tour with New Edition to pretty rave reviews. His personal life however is something of a never-ending dramedy. Bobby just recently left rehab after only three weeks for alcohol problems, his wife recently had a seizure which could signal more serious health problems, and all of this happened within two-and-a-half months of the couple getting married. None of us can forget the spectacle that was “Being Bobby Brown,” the previous reality show Bobby starred in back in 2005 on Bravo. Though Whitney was arguably the more troubled spouse at the time, I don’t think anyone wants to see a rerun of those antics with Bobby’s current wife Alicia.

Specifics about the show title, episode, and series length haven’t been announced yet but it will be interesting to see how this show fits in with others on the network, specifically the reality show Bobbi Kristina, Cissy Houston, and aunt Pat are filming for BET too. Hopefully not too many toes get stepped on. what do you think about this new project?

The honeymoon phase just isn’t turning out to be so pleasant for celebrity couples these days. Just shy of his two months wedding anniversary after tying the knot with longtime girlfriend Alicia Etheredge June 18, Bobby Brown has found himself back in rehab for alcohol addiction.

Sources close to Bobby told TMZ that the 43-year-old singer admitted himself “because he realized he couldn’t do it on his own” and that Bobby “decided that he needed help and wants to make the best out of the rest of his life for his children’s sake.”

His new wife, Alicia, also confirmed the news with RadarOnline. She didn’t specify how long Bobby has been back in rehab but when asked how her husband is responding to treatment, she said, “He is doing great.”

Bobby and Alicia have one son together, 3-year-old Cassius, and the “New Edition” singer is also father to 23-year-old Landon, 22-year-old La’Princia, Bobby Jr. who’s 19, and of course Bobbi Kristina who is also 19. In March, he was arrested for a DUI around noon in Reseda, CA, for allegedly being pulled over for using a cell phone will driving, and he is no stranger to alcohol and drug problems or treatment. Hopefully this time around the things he learns in rehab will stick.

The Grammy Award winning songstress, Brandy Norwood began her entertainment career as a 14-year old on the short-lived sitcom, “Thea” in 1993. Since, the actress/singer/dancer launched a successful singing career, which is where she has garnered the bulk of her success. While working on her third studio album, Full Moon, with Dark Child producer and composer Robert Smith, she became romantically involved with him, and eventually pregnant. In lieu of the pregnancy, the pop star and her “husband” decided to televise their love and home life on MTV’s Diary Presents Brandy: Special Delivery, where she documented the final months of pregnancy and birth of her daughter Sy’rai. Not long afterward, the two announced their separation, and later came clean about NEVER having been married in the first place. The nuptials were staged to help Brandy preserve her public image.

Bobby Brown just had the best weekend ever. While in Honolulu, the singer not only performed with New Edition for a concert and celebrated Father’s Day, he also made things official with his girlfriend/fiancée, Alicia Etheredge, and jumped the broom.

Close friends and family surrounded the couple during their nuptials, including Bobby’s older kids Landon, 23, La’Princia, 22, and Bobby Jr., 19. Bobby and Alicia’s son Cassius, who’s 3, served as the ring bearer and four young flower girls were also a part of the ceremony.

It was 43-year-old Bobby’s prerogative to wear a red suit and Adidas, matching his son, while Alicia was traditional in a destination wedding style white dress.

During an interview in 2011, Bobby told PEOPLE that Alicia had given him a new lease on life after divorcing Whitney Houston.

“I got my passion back for music and for loving myself because of her,” he said.

In 2010 he proposed to his girlfriend/manager in front of a sold out New Edition crowd In Jacksonville, FL, and now the couple’s relationship has come full circle with them getting hitched just 24 hours after a New Edition show in Hawaii.

Now, the pair says it’s back to business. For now, they have no honeymoon plans, but they’ll continue to travel on the New Edition tour which kicks off again June 23 in Oakland, CA.

As many news outlets had reported prior to the couple’s wedding, Bobbi Kristina did not in fact attend her father’s ceremony, with many sources saying their relationship is strained at the moment. Hopefully it will be on the mend soon.

If you were tired of talking about the possibility of a biopic on Whitney Houston’s life, there’s now something new to talk about: There’s going to be a memoir on her life  and it will be written by her mother. Cissy Houston will go in depth about the joys and pain of her daughter’s life in a detailed memoir that will be distributed by HarperCollins and will be available next February. In a statement released via HarperCollins, momma Cissy says she hopes, in doing the book, that she can leave a little bit of Whitney with her fans and give folks a better understanding of her life:

“When I lost my daughter Nippy (Whitney Houston’s nickname), the world lost one of the most beautiful voices and an extraordinarily beautiful and charitable woman. In sharing our story in this book, I hope to give her fans something to treasure, the way we all treasured Whitney. We are still receiving thousands of letters each day from her fans, and I hope reading this book will provide a deeper understanding into my daughter’s true story.”

According to NY Daily News, a portion of the proceeds from the book will be given to New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. where Whitney’s voice first was able to have a stage. This is also where people got to see their last glimpse of the star during her funeral. Reports say that Houston will receive seven figures through the book deal. Cissy is slated to discuss everything that went on with Whitney, including her drug addiction, troubled marriage to Bobby Brown, her iconic career, and her own grief from losing her daughter. According to HarperCollins, “Ultimately, Cissy will go behind the headlines to show the true, human side of this strong, successful yet complicated musical icon, capturing the dramatic depths and soaring range of an extraordinary woman, along with the pain and heartbreak of a grieving mother as she struggles with impossible loss.”

Bobby Brown proved he can still do a little something something on the stage. Though he’s been touring with New Edition for a minute now. The “King of R&B” broke free from his group members to perform on NBC’s Today show this morning. He doesn’t sound quite the same and his dance moves were certainly limited, but he still put on a decent show for the folks on the Plaza. He also refuted rumors that his new single “Don’t Let Me Die” was a tribute to Whitney Houston. It was written for his new boo, fiancee Alicia, nine months ago. It would quite shady to still be writing love songs to your ex wife.

Anyway in addition to his new stuff, Bobby also performed some of our favorites. Watch him perform “Every Little Step” in the video below.
