Everybody and their mama has a reality show these days, but Vivica A. Fox said she will not be joining that band wagon. The engaged actress thought about doing a reality show to document her  wedding planning process, but she put the brakes on it when the potential show partners seemed to only want drama.

They were like ‘What do you guys fight about’? Who are your friends that are a mess’. So I was like, ‘I don’t want to start off my marriage with creating drama’ because we get along very good.

Well, alright! Kind of refreshing to hear a celebrity say “no” to reality tv. Do you think she’ll stick to her stance or will we be seeing a Vivica/Slimm show soon?

Welp, I was pleased a punch to hear from a prominent black female blogger that St. Ives pulled all their advertising from Psychology Today’s online site after the fallout of Dr. Kanazawa.  I watched in such admiration how so many of us banded together to say “We’re mad as hell, and we’re not gonna take it anymore!”

Score one for the Black Girl team.

But then I caught wind that Essence magazine, the flagship print publication for the promotion and empowerment of black women, is hosting an “empowerment” panel at this year’s music festival discussing the portrayal of women in the media with none other than NeNe Leakes as part of the participants.  What the cuss?  Unless Ms. Leakes plans to discuss how NOT to portray yourself as a black woman on television, Essence’s choice of guests has me scratching my head till it bleeds.
