Nicki Minaj Cosmo

Nicki Minaj graces the cover Cosmo currently on the stands, and dishes on her personal life and future intentions. Featured on the cover of the November issue in a Hot black ensemble, the unique female rap artist reveals her 5-10 year plan, according to celebrity blogger Necole Bitchie, stating:

In 5 Years: “I will be getting married and, a couple of years after that, will have a bun in the oven.”

In 10 Years: ‘I’ll have hundreds of millions of dollars I will have put out five albums & will have an Oscar & Grammys.”

Well, good for you Nicki! Bitchie goes on to elaborate that Minaj will be coming out with new music soon as well, as she has been working on collaborations with Big Sean, Rick Ross and Willow Smith. Check out Necole Bitchie’s web site to hear a sample of Willow’s new music.

Nicki Minaj is certainly a talented rapper and a colorful, entertaining star. It is sometimes troubling when a black female hip hop artist crosses into the mainstream, as was the case with Lil’ Kim. She was an amazing performer at the time, but there was always the concern that other audiences would not “get” her sensibility without attributing some of her more outrageous behavior to the worst stereotypes of black women.

With Nicki Minaj we have all of the color, flavor, fun and talent with fewer of the worrisome repercussions that went along with the start of Kim’s career. Hopefully Minaj will be able to expand into all the areas she has outlined for herself, showing the world how multi-faceted black female artists can be. Could she be the next Queen Latifah? We hope so and wish her the best.
