We know all about Swizz Beatz’s sons, but have you had the chance to see his daughter, Nicole? The little girl is his daughter with singer/producer/actress Jahna Sebastian.  Nicole turned four on May 22, and to commemorate his daughter’s big day, he wished her happy birthday on Twitter: “Happy Bday to my Lil Queen #blessings :) #daddylove.” MAN, if Swizzy doesn’t have the strongest genes of all time…But anywho, check out photos the producer posted of his Minnie Mouse loving little one.

Nicole isn’t the only one who recently celebrated a birthday though. The daughter of another producer just turned 14! She is Shaniah Cymone Mauldin, the child of iconic producer Jermaine Dupri. He gushed on Twitter about his number one girl: “It’s my baby @shaniahcymone 14th birthday, omg !! I can’t believe it,I ❤u with all my ❤ Happy Birthday.” I remember how tiny this young lady used to be from her days posing with her pop in Apple Bottoms’ ads (the line for kids of course). These kids grow up so fast these days I tell ya…

And of course, we had to showcase Justin Combs (Diddy’s son with Misa Hylton) going off to prom recently. Diddy’s first-born son also just graduated from high school and is off to UCLA on a football scholarship in the fall, so big ups to him! The 18-year-old cutie went to prom in style, riding in a luxurious Rolls-Royce, and he took a very beautiful date who wore a vintage Gucci gown (though I must say, she looks MUCH older than 18, but whatever…). Check out photos of the very grown Justin getting ready and going off to dance the night away/stunt at prom.

Because I know you can’t get enough of #dembabies, and Nick and Mariah know you can’t either, we’ve got more photos from the twins’ huge April 30 birthday party in Paris! In them, you can see the cutie pies (who are getting so big by the way) playing with their new toys (including a play Ferrari car) and getting adorable with mom and dad as they turn the big 1. They look so much like Mariah, it’s crazy! And by the look of those toys, those kids are going to be spoiled (but that’s not a bad thing in my book!).  Check out the belated cuteness below:

In other baby news…or make that kid news, Tallulah Dash (the daughter of Rachel Roy and Damon Dash) turned four recently. In true child-of-a-fashionista fashion, she was decked out with chick jewelry, and both a fab princess cake and balloons. To commemorate her turning four, after tweeting a pic of her big girl, Rachel Roy said, “Today she is 4 ☺! May she grow up to be happy compassionate and wise… ♥ you babygirl…xxRR” Check out the little big girl in all her birthday glory:

And last but not least, we just wanted to share a cute photo of Emily B and her kids (and Fab and his mother) as she celebrated Mother’s Day this past weekend. Her son, Johan, is growing up fast by the way! She posted this adorable pic through her Twitter of her kids, Taina and Johan, and her man, as she had a wonderful (and fashionable) Mommy’s Day.

Lord Help Me, I’ve Got The Old Chick in The Club, Ready For a Family Itch

May 14th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

I probably should’ve written this anonymously because if my family or friends come across it, I will never hear the end of it. The thing is, I’ve been on a tirade for the past four or five years about not having children. I never was a person who dreamed of baby carriages or said I wanted to have a big family, but after seeing how far money doesn’t go in New York City, and watching one too many women carry their strollers up the Subway steps while men pushed past them or just watched them huff and puff at each step, I decided I wasn’t about that life. And so, I made the announcement to my family—at every holiday gathering—and moved on with my happily non-impregnated, don’t ever want to be impregnated life. But something(s) happened to change my tune just a smidge last week.

One, I turned 27. This is actually an age I’ve always wanted to be and probably one of the few years where I didn’t feel like, “oh God, I’m not where I want to be.” There are some situations I don’t want to be in but an equal number of doors are opening and I’m pretty content. However my best friend, who’s not quite 26 yet, hitting me with the “oh my god, you are truly a grown woman. When you say ‘I’m 27,’ it lets people know you are too old to be bothered with childish foolishness but still sort of young you know?’” I just wanted to hang up on her, you know? Plus, I think I got used to the “oh you’re still a baby” comments that annoyed me at 26 and all the years before, but now for the five days that I’ve been telling people I’m 27, I just get “OK, cool.” No wet behind the ears, breath smelling like Similac jokes or nothing.

Number two, I went out for my birthday and spent about a good hour dancing back to back with a guy from high school that I hadn’t seen in forever and who’s 25. I’m not sure if I was on one or having a legitimate breakdown, but I felt like a straight cougar and was having a hard time trying to figure out the appropriate way a woman of my age should dance without moving like a granny or trying to compete with the 21-year-olds whose heads I couldn’t see because they were bouncing and shaking that thing like the twerk team. Add in the fact that he wiped sweat off my forehead and I had just the slightest twinge of knee pain the next day, and I began thinking, “Hmm. Maybe this is the life I’m not about.”

Number three, my friend got engaged. I’m not too keen on his bride of choice, but for some reason me telling him I was going to be looking for a new apartment soon—a studio that screams room for one and only one—just didn’t feel quite as exciting as the thought of him creating a home for his soon-to-be wife and their son together. Now don’t get me wrong, for someone as independent as I am, the ability to be able to have my own space, pay my own bills, and do me all by myself is nearly orgasmic. However, for the first time possibly ever, I was feeling the urge to have a purpose outside of myself and be responsible and accountable to someone besides me.

Number four, mother’s day hit. Now again, don’t get me wrong here either. I gladly turned down the mother’s day mug they were giving out at church yesterday. I even gave my friend a high-five as we celebrated the fact that we made it another year child-free; and I was quick to tell anyone who assumedly wished me a happy mother’s day, “oh no, not me.” However, something in me thought it wouldn’t be so bad to be on the receiving end of those wishes legitimately. Someday. Maybe. Like when I’m 35.

That’s my happy medium, compromise and have a kid age right now because there are some things I have to do first, like save (a ton of) money, find a man, fall in love, get married, have several years to ourselves without babies running around, and probably a million other things I can think of accomplishing before incorporating chil’rens. However the fact that I’m even thinking about having any—and had the nerve to write about it—is sort of tripping me out, along with my best friend who went silent when I shared this sentiment with her earlier since we decided we’d have to have kids around the same time or our friendship would be ruined. So basically, I’m secretly hoping I run into one of the worst kids I’ve ever come across in life today so I can go back to my zero tolerance for children policy and live childlessly ever after.

As far as the old chick in the club thing, I’ve just decided to hang out with older people so I can be the young one in the group again. Kidding! I’m pretty sure my cougar paranoia was an isolated incident magnified by the fact that a 25-year-old seemed to be the only decent specimen where I was, and if I was going to be serious about having at least a family consisting of me and a male counterpart I had better find some new places to hang out. At 27, I’m not really the old chick in the club, however I have seen 40 in the club and I’m telling you right now, I refuse to be her or the woman I fear I’m about to turn into, which is a 27-year-old single lady dreaming of babies spitting up on me and keeping me up at night. (If I bring up the bad aspects of motherhood it helps me cope.) Either way, I’m hoping I’m not alone in this struggle and some of you have hit that age where you suddenly start wanting things you never thought you did before. Or, you just feel plain old. Either way, share por favor!

Did you get the itch for a family or children after you turned a certain age?

OMG! T.I. Buys Daughter a Porsche for her 16th Bday

Source: Necole Bitchie

If you watched “T.I. and Tiny’s Family Hustle” this season, you might recall the couple’s oldest daughter Zonnique asking for two cars for her upcoming 16th birthday. Well this weekend, the “OMG Girl’s” Sweet 16 came and went, but instead of two cars, papa T.I. just bought her one really nice one—a Porsche.

The car was the icing on the cake of the extravagant celebrity party T.I. and Tiny threw Zonnique Saturday night in the ATL. From being carried in on a throne like an Egyptian Princess, to live giraffes and camels, and spending the night with Nelly, Christian Combs, Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae, Diggy Simmons, and Misa Hylton Brimm, I’d say Zonnique had a pretty memorable 16th. And to match the white 2012 Cayenne Porsche she was handed the keys to, her parents also gave her two small white Pomeranian puppies.

T.I.’s going to have a lot to live up to when his other five kids hit this age. Check out pics of the birthday bash on Necole Bitchie.com. What do you think of her party?

Ruh-Roh: Chris Brown and Rihanna Release Two Collabos in One Night

February 20th, 2012 - By MN Editor

Source: celebrityviplounge

Man, I can tell you right now that the Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly and more are going to go in on Rih-Rih in the morning…

On her 24th birthday, Rihanna released a remix, aka, an extended version of her track “Birthday Cake” with Breezy on it. It’s very suggestive and at times a bit vulgar, but that’s ya girl Rih-Rih for you! She wants to make him her b**** and he can’t wait to “blow her candles out.” Looks like Rih wanted folks to know there’s no one else she would rather celebrate her birthday with. Well, alrighty.

Then on top of that, Breezy dropped the remix to his track “Turn Up the Music” and that joint was a bit more straightforward and fun.

One track is definitely rated R while the other is pretty PG 13. Either way, someone’s going to have a problem with this. And I’m sure Miranda Lambert is somewhere fuming in her cowgirl boots. However, it’s pretty clear Rihanna wants the world to stop trying to make her the “poster girl” for domestic violence (even though she got on TV and kind of did that herself). They’re on great terms obviously…but I can’t say this music is great. It’s aight.

But check out the link for the “Birthday Cake” remix below, as well as the “Turn Up the Music” remix video which is emblazoned with my favorite word, “YIKES!!!!!!!’ Oh, indeed…

SMH: Graphic Designer Sorry for MLK Stripper Party Promo

January 19th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Martin Luther King Jr. died for a lot, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t for the right to drink Ciroc and throw dollar bills at strippers. That’s the image a Miami graphic designer portrayed on a flyer advertising an “I Have a Dream” birthday bash this past Sunday.

Jeffrey Darnell Paul/ DJ Big Boy just barely uttered the words “I apologize” when an NBC newscaster asked what he was thinking when he made a flyer like that.

“What was I thinking?,” he responded. “Promotion, my business.”

The promotion didn’t work so well though. The gentleman’s club, which did not approve the flyers and claims Jeffrey acted on his own, called the entire celebration off and there was no party when the club opened its doors on MLK’s bday. Appearing halfway apologetic, although able to easily make this mistake again, Jeffrey said he wishes he would’ve taken the time to think about what he was putting on the flyer, which he says he spent no more than five minutes creating.

“If I could turn back the hands of time, it wouldn’t have happened…that’s something you don’t play with as I’ve learned.”

I still have a feeling he’ll find someway to disgrace the nation’s founders for President’s Day next month. I pretty much hate all of the flyers promoters come up with for night clubs anyway but this one by DJ Big Boy definitely takes the cake.

Do you think the DJ even realizes what was wrong with what he did? Did you come across any crazy MLK party promotions this past weekend?

Happy Birthday First Lady!

January 17th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Today Michelle Obama turns 48, and the First Lady of the United States of America looks just as vibrant as she did when she entered the white house four years ago.

President Obama sent out a message to supporters today to ask them to show his wife some special love on her birthday while acknowledging that the first lady has been the backbone of his success. Here’s what he wrote:

“I’m writing because our FLOTUS, Michelle, turns 48 on Tuesday, and I know I’m not her only fan out there, join me in wishing her a happy birthday.

“This fall, Michelle and I will have been married 20 years. The next 10 months will be harder than any we’ve experienced together, and I couldn’t do it without her. I know she’d love to hear from you today.”

I’m sure Mrs. O’s twitter account is buzzing with lots of happy bday wishes. Here’s hoping she’s surrounded by love today and that the critics give her a day to simply celebrate who she is.

Check out this video of FLOTUS getting her dougie on at Alice Deal Middle School. There’s no word on how she’ll celebrate her bday but I’m sure there will be lot’s of dancing. Happy Birthday Michelle Obama!

Happy Birthday Drake! Drizzy Turns 25

October 24th, 2011 - By Brande Victorian

Drake's 25th Birthday

Today is Drake’s born day, and it looks like he had a great time celebrating his birthday at Tao in Vegas over the weekend.

Stepping out of his typical nerd-cool t-shirt and sweater attire, it’s clear the 25-year-old was feeling himself, rocking a blue Versace shirt and gold chain for the occasion. While purchasing 200 shots and bottles for the club, Drizzy told the crowd:

“I’m here for ya’ll tonight. If you want to drink, if you want to dance, if you want to party—ladies, if you want to Fawk, I’m ’bout whatever. I turned 25 and I just want to thank each and every one of you for coming out tonight. I appreciate it. Let’s have some fun.”

Who wouldn’t have fun sipping on free drinks with Drake in Sin City? Let’s hope he makes it a good one. Happy Birthday, Drizzy, you big cutie!

President Obama’s Still Got It According to Wife Michelle

July 25th, 2011 - By Victoria Uwumarogie

It’s pretty obvious that taking the role of president can age you hardcore, putting some pepper in your locks, wrinkles in your skin and bags under your eyes. Before and after pictures of some of our former commander-in-chiefs are startling in their differences, and that can be attributed to the stresses of making huge decisions and being expected to make the “right” decisions at all times. And of course, what is “right” depends on your political views. But as President Obama’s first term starts winding down, he still looks like a stud in our book. Now if he does two terms, we can’t promise anything…but right now, he’s aging gracefully. But it’s not like he’s looking for the public to fawn over him like so many women did in ’08, because according to President Obama, his wife’s approval is all he needs. In an interview with NPR, the President talked about his upcoming 50th birthday (on the 4th), and what his wife thinks about his looks:

“You know, I feel real good about 5-0. The – obviously, I’ve gotten a little grayer since I took this job but otherwise, I feel pretty good. And Michelle, you know, says that, you know, she – she — she still thinks I’m, I’m cute, you know. And I guess that’s — that’s all that matters, isn’t it?”

We think you’re still a stone cold fox too Barack. Wouldn’t you agree?

Tupac’s Top Ten Best Songs

June 16th, 2010 - By Danielle Kwateng

People are always debating if this New York born, Baltimore raised, Cali-repping rapper is still alive. I always tell the story of how I swear I saw Tupac five years ago, outside the corner store of my high school in South Florida. Don’t believe me if you chose, but this man’s impact is undeniable. He brought consciousness to hip-hop and revealed the injustices in the black community during his time on earth and years after.

We understand there are some hard-core Biggie fans out there. And that’s OK, but you have to respect Pac’s gangsta. Being that today would have been his 39th birthday, the staff put together a list of our TOP TEN TUPAC SONGS. Because East Coast or West, everyone has a Pac song they luv.
