Leg Drop Victim’s Attorney Says Miguel Has Yet To Offer Financial Assistance For Her Medical Expenses
Miguel’s seemingly never-ending soap opera continues to drag on. In case you somehow missed it, the “Adorn” singer’s troubles began during his performance at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. Caught up in the moment and the musical magic that he was making on stage, the 27-year-old crooner made a running leap and attempted to jump over his audience. Unfortunately, he overestimated his abilities because he came crashing down onto the stage, hitting two fans who stood front row in the audience. One of the victims was Khyati Shah, who according to the AP, is a foreign exchange student from New Zealand. Although Shah told Miguel that she was fine after the show, her attorney later came forward claiming that she’d been suffering from quite a few medical ailments in relation to the incident. He also expressed that she’d been showing signs of brain damage.
Although many of us have been holding our breath, waiting to hear the news that Shah has officially filed a lawsuit against Miguel in relation to the incident, her attorney, Vip Bhola, is implying that this isn’t the case. He’s also addressed his client’s dismay after she realized that Miguel has yet to offer any assistance with her rising medical costs.
“They didn’t rush her to the hospital. Instead they rushed a camera to her and an ice pack.”
“[They took advantage of a] star-struck, dazed and injured person. She was a fan of Miguel and she’s dumbfounded at how she’s been treated. She had hoped they would truly care about her rather than merely caring about themselves and some imaginary lawsuit they are defending against,” Bhola said.
Shah is currently studying as a double major at UCLA with a concentration in philosophy and politics. According to her attorney, she hoped to return to New Zealand this summer, but her travel plans may more than likely be delayed as a result of the incident and the continuous testing and treatment that she’s been undergoing. Bhola says his client has been experiencing memory and language issues and that she’s having difficulties composing text messages “without them coming out garbled.”
This sounds awful!
Somebody’s Pants Are On Fire: Miguel’s Team Shuts Down Billboard Producers, Claim They Encouraged His Infamous Jump

Source: WENN
We told you earlier today that according to TMZ, singer Miguel was warned by producers of this year’s Billboard Music Awards that his no-go jump over a pit of fans would be a dangerous stunt and that he was prohibited from doing it:
“The way the story is being told, Miguel approached the producers prior to a rehearsal session and asked if he could attempt to jump over the crowd during his performance. The producers declined, letting him know that he would be putting himself and the audience at risk by pulling such a stunt.”
Well surprise, surprise, hours later it seems that Miguel and his representatives are calling “bull” on them, claiming that not only did they think it sounded exciting, but that they wanted to ensure that their cameras would be right there the minute he took off for his jump…The singer’s people told TMZ that “The reports claiming that Miguel was warned by producers not to jump are completely false” and that despite claims of possible brain damage by one of his leg-drop victims, Khyati Shah, Miguel and people from his camp reached out to Shah over and over again to see if they could help her:
“In fact, a source close to Miguel added that producers actually asked him if he was going to attempt the jump to make sure their cameras didn’t miss it during the show.
Miguel’s rep says, “A number of attempts were made to reach Khyati and her lawyer after the performance to see how she was doing and whether any assistance could be offered.”
Damn, Damn, Damn! Billboard Producers Allegedly Asked Miguel Not To Leap Over The Crowd During His Performance
Let’s all bow our heads in prayer and hope that Miguel had enough sense to contact an attorney by now. With each passing day, more information regarding his infamous 2013 Billboard Music Awards performance continues to rise to the surface. Last week we told you that one of the victims injured during the performance, Khyati Shah, was still undergoing medical testing and announced via her attorney, Vip Bhola, that a decision on whether or not she will be taking legal action against the singer would be determined once her medical results are in. To make matters worse, yesterday in a statement released to TMZ, Bhola revealed that since the incident, his client has been showing symptoms consistent with brain damage.
To add icing to this mess of a cake, according to TMZ, Billboard Music Awards producers are now claiming that they knew Miguel’s running leap would be dangerous and prohibited him from including it in his performance! The way the story is being told, Miguel approached the producers prior to a rehearsal session and asked if he could attempt to jump over the crowd during his performance. The producers declined, letting him know that he would be putting himself and the audience at risk by pulling such a stunt. Miguel went on about his business and attempted the running leap during his performance anyway. And well, we all know how that story ends.
This news bit obviously doesn’t do much to help Miguel’s story. You know, the one that he’s been peddling around town about getting caught up in the moment…
“It didn’t go exactly as I planned, I’m a very passionate performer. That time it just didn’t work out for me but at the end of the day at least you know when you come to see me, I am going to put on a show and I am going to give it everything I love, everything I know and everything I feel. That’s what living in the moment is all about,” Miguel said during an interview with LoveDough TV.
He added that regardless of how it looked, he was very worried about Khyati and said that she told him she was okay following the incident.
“That night, I couldn’t sleep. I was worried about the girl obviously and wanting her to be okay. And that’s what she told me, she was okay. So I was comforted by that… The next day, it was okay. I started to deal with it, laugh with it, roll with the punches and that’s all you can do. We’re human.”

Miguel’s Leg Drop Victim Reportedly Showing Signs Of Brain Damage
Last week we told you that Miguel’s leg drop victim, Khyati Shah, looked as if she was preparing to take legal action against the “Adorn” singer after she was injured during his 2013 Billboard Music Awards performance. Although Shah’s attorney, Vip Bhola, expressed that his client’s decision to proceed with legal filings would be contingent upon the results of medical testing, it does look like Shah and her attorney are setting the stage for a major, highly publicized lawsuit.
While we don’t know specifically what those medical tests revealed, Bhola recently expressed to TMZ that organizers of the Billboard Music Awards failed to take appropriate action following his client’s injury and that instead of offering her an icepack, they should’ve rushed her to the nearest hospital. Bhola also revealed that since the incident, his client has been experiencing symptoms consistent with brain damage.
“Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”
It’s a tough call. Shah could be looking for a quick come-up or things could really be as serious as her lawyer is making them seem. I mean, that leg drop did look pretty painful. On the flip side, it seems a little suspicious that her attorney continues to speak to entertainment sites.
What are your thoughts on this?
Miguel’s Leg Drop ‘Victim’ Looks Like She’s Getting Ready To Slap Him With A Big Fat Lawsuit
It looks like Miguel has bigger issues than judgmental Black folks. Even though he played nice and tried to smooth things over with one of his injured fans backstage at last week’s Billboard Music Awards, it looks like there may still be some consequences to pay for nearly taking her head off during the leg-drop ending of his “Adorn” performance.
According to E! News, the injured fan, whom Miguel referred to as his “new friend,” Khyati Shah is now “considering” taking legal action against the 27-year-old singer. Khyati’s attorney, Vip Bhola told the entertainment site that an official decision will be made once his client hears back from her physicians.
“We will determine that after we have feedback from medical providers,” Bhola said.
He also expressed that Khyati had been experiencing “difficulties” since the incident, but didn’t go into detail regarding the nature of her ailments. And in case you’re thinking to yourself, “She looked like she was okay during the post-performance interview,” the young woman’s attorney insists that she was still “shocked and star struck” during the interview. He also said that her condition worsened in the days following the incident. In other words, it’s about to go down.
I think it’s safe to say that we all saw this coming. Now that Khyati lawyered up, Miguel may want to do the same.
[Watch] Miguel Attempts To Jump Over The Crowd And Damn Near Breaks Two Girls’ Necks

What a way to end an otherwise perfect performance.
Just when everyone was grooving to Miguel’s “Adorn” and giving him kudos for being the only singer to have a nearly flawless performance during the Billboard Music Awards, he goes and does this.
Why someone 4’11″ thought he had enough wing span to successfully jump over a crowd of 50-100 we’re not exactly sure, but the unfortunate end result was two girls’ necks getting caught underneath each of his tiny legs. We’re gonna go out on a limb here and say this part of the performance wasn’t rehearsed otherwise someone would have surely told Miguel this was not worth the risk.
To his credit, ol’ boy still didn’t miss a beat or a note after nearly decapitating these two fans — which begs the question what’s wrong with those other people who couldn’t sing for their lives on stage. But Miguel? You have to know when to leave good enough alone baby.
The Best And The Boldest Of The 2013 Billboard Music Award Fashion
Every award show we know there are going to be some hits, some misses, and some WTF were they thinkings when it comes to red carpet fashion (that was our nice way of saying bold in the headline). This year’s 2013 Billboard Music Awards were no different. Check out the best and the most interesting outfits we saw.
And The Top Rap Artist Is…
There was some stiff…ahh who are we kidding? There was some odd competition in the Top Rap Artist category at the Billboard Music Awards tonight. Nicki Minaj, Drake, Flo Rida, Pitbull, and Psy (?) went head to head for the honor during the 2013 ceremony, but when all was said and done the choice was pretty obvious….
Nicki Minaj took the gold!
We’re still trying to figure out how Gagnam Style Psy was even a nominee, but until we have an answer, let’s just focus on the present. Was Nicki your choice for top rap artist?

The 2013 Billboard Awards have begun and our favorite couple showed out on the red carpet this evening!
Showing up in all black everything, Amber Rose and her boo/baby daddy/maybe husband looked super cute exchanging smiles and some, err, tongue. Wiz looked very Kanye-esque licking Amber’s head on the red carpet, because we totally saw Amber’s ex pull that same pose a few year’s back when the two were together. Think Wiz was throwing subtle shade or is it just that Amber’s head tastes just like candy?

That Could Be Risky…Tracy Morgan To Host The Billboard Music Awards
A day after news of women walking out of Tracy Morgan’s comedy set in the land down under hit the U.S., Billboard just made a very interesting announcement. Tracy Morgan will be hosting the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.
According to Billboard, Tracy is just one highlight — if you’re not put off by his racy routine — of the show:
As host of the awards, Morgan joins a lineup of performers that includes Justin Bieber, Miguel, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars. The show will also include a highly anticipated performance by Prince, who is receiving the Billboard Icon Award at the telecast, produced by Don Mischer and sponsored by Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
Tracy appears to be pretty excited about the opportunity as well, telling Billboard:
“I’m honored to be a part of one of music’s biggest nights,” Morgan said. “When you look at the artists who have come up through Billboard over the years, it’s incredible. And how can you say no when Prince is going to be there!”
Great question. Voting is now open on Billboard’s website for the Milestone award which gives fans the chance to vote for their favorite artist online and enter a contest to win an opportunity to present the award live at this year’s event alongside Cee Lo Green. Justin Bieber, Miguel, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars are all up for the award, along with The Band Perry and Pitbull. If you’re interested in voting for your favorite artist you can do so at Billboard.com/milestone and hold out to see who gets the coveted honor when the show airs Sunday, May 19, on ABC.
How do you think Tracy will do as a host?
