We’ve told you in the past about Aswad Ayinde, the music director who helped bring the video for the Fugees’ “Killing Me Softly” to life, all while he was sexually assaulting his daughters and impregnating them behind closed doors. Just last month, Ayinde was sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexual assault against his daughter Aziza Kibibi, his eldest child, on top of the 40-year sentence he was given for raping and impregnating another daughter. Kibibi has decided to open up to NJ.com about those years of horror she experienced due to her father, which included molestation at the age of eight, rape by the age of 10 and five children that came from it all (including one who passed away from complications due to inbreeding).

She spoke openly about losing her innocence at a young age, and how she wanted to run away, but couldn’t leave behind her siblings:

“I’d dream about running away. I’d dream about getting all my brothers and sisters — one of my sisters was a baby, and I was taking care of her — I’d dream about growing breasts and getting milk and running away with them somewhere. I felt like I was in a nightmare. I was just trying to sleep as much as possible…. because my dreams were better than what I was living.”

Kibibi also said that the first few times her father assaulted her, he claimed it was for a a good reason. But he quickly turned violent:

“He told me I was special. Initially, it was to teach me to be a woman. By the time he started having intercourse with me, he was getting more and more violent. When I would start fighting him, he would hit me. It was more about threats.”

Kibibi says that Ayinde forbid the family from seeking medical care, hence all the children, including those his daughters were having by him, being born in the house. She claims that he told her mother that his initial sexual interactions with her were “healing methods” to help fix her eczema…

As the abuse continued and she became pregnant, Kibibi’s first child was born healthy, and Ayinde used that child as reasoning to continue the assaults so that he could keep his bloodline “pure.” Unfortunately, some of her other children would be born with disorders, including phenylketonuria, which keeps the body from breaking down amino acids.

“I don’t know if he expected her to have some medical issues, but when she didn’t, he used that as proof. She was validation.”

As we told you previously, Ayinde looked at himself as some kind of powerful, almost god-like figure according to his former wife, Beverly Ayinde. Kibibi says this is true.

“He told us we couldn’t pray to God. We had to pray to him and he would get the messages to God.”

When one of Kibibi’s children, a son, had a seizure while Ayinde was away on a rare business trip, she bravely decided to take him to the hospital, where a social worker was alerted about their situation, and that individual called New Jersey’s Department of Youth and Family Services. After that, the children were taken by the State and placed in different homes. But Kibibi was able to fight for custody and gain all of her children back, and since then, her life has drastically changed.

“I was learning the system – taking your child to doctor, taking parenting classes. With (DYFS) monitoring me, it was me just realizing ‘Wait a minute, there are people out there willing to help’,” she said. “It empowered me. At the same time, my children became my only purpose.”

Kibibi lost one of her children, a young daughter born with phenylketonuria and spinal muscular atrophy who couldn’t care for herself. She passed in 2010. But Kibibi has managed to stay strong, focusing since on getting justice for herself and her sisters, going back to school, starting a baking business, getting married (she has a child from that union) and helping other women of sexual abuse:

“I can make a difference. I always asked what my purpose was. Even with everything that I suffered, I still had to ask God what my purpose was. Instead of just being an experience that I had, maybe this strengthened me. What doesn’t break us make us stronger.”

His name is Aswad Ayinde, director of the MTV Video Music Award winning Fugees video, “Killing Me Softly,” and aside from some serious jail time, Ayinde needs the butt-whooping of a lifetime.

We told you earlier in the year about the “Killing Me Softly” director around the time his second of five trials had started. It was reported today that he was given 50 years in prison for his actions, which included raping one of his daughters since she was eight years old, and impregnating her four different times. Ayinde was accused of sexually assaulting five of his seven daughters and impregnating some of them, bringing about six children, so that he could create a “pure bloodline.” A few months ago, his wife, Beverly Ayinde, recounted her life with the director, including his control over herself and their children:

“He equaled himself to being a prophet. As time went on, he was god-like. I had to call him, ‘my god.’ He equated himself to Jesus Christ … He would sit us all down and lecture us about his greatness and his power … At another point, he equated himself to Prince and Michael Jackson.”

Not only did Ayinde sexually assault his daughters many times, he also walked around his family’s home unclothed according to testimony, and he even made lewd comments about his children in front of Beverly. This includes a time where he told her that spirits were telling him that he should perform oral sex on the victim of this second case when she was just eight years old. Beverly claims she didn’t call police because he threatened to kill the girls, and according to reports, all of his sexual assaults went on for 30 years in different homes (and even an abandoned funeral home), until Beverly left her husband. But despite all that, it was his daughters that went to the police in 2006. As the victim from this second trial put it, “We found out we had other siblings, young siblings, and we had to put him to a stop. Even though we were healing, they could still fall victim.” She’s probably referring to the 12 other children Ayinde had with other women over the years. Ayinde was also accused of beating his daughters and brought some of the children they had into the world in the family home, with at least two dying in the home and being buried without authorities knowing at the time.

Though he was given 50 years for his crimes against his daughter on Friday, in 2010, he was sentenced to 40 years for assault for raping and impregnating another one of his daughters (hence the 90). The women impregnated were given separate trials, so that’s why Ayinde has three more to face. The daughter from this second trial, now 35, has had two children from her father who have genetic illnesses caused by incest (and reportedly had four in total with one dying of spinal muscular atrophy). She is doing better these days, and she even went back to school to study communications. But she took time out to speak out against her father, and to him, at his trial in New Jersey on Friday as he prepared for another sentencing by saying, “I can’t describe how much you hurt me and my sisters.” The last time Ayinde tried to assault this particular victim, was in 2003.

While 90+ years in prison sounds like a hell of a punishment, what God has in store for this man is on a whole other level…

Fugees’ ‘Killing Me Softly’ Music Video Director On Trial For Raping And Impregnating His Daughters

A man who goes by the name of Aswad Ayinde (birth name: Charles McGill) is currently facing his second of five jury trials, three of which he is accused of raping and impregnating three of his five daughters while they were minors, reports NorthJersey.com.

In his current proceeding, Ayinde is facing two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of sexual assault. This past Tuesday, his ex-wife Beverly Ayinde, whom he was married to for seventeen years, took the stand. In her testimony, she recounted the chilling details of the detestable horrors that went on in her home at the hands of Aswad. Beverly revealed that she simply could not believe that her 12-year-old daughter was really pregnant until her husband dropped the shocking bomb that he could be the father of their daughter’s unborn child.

“He said, ‘She could be pregnant from me.’ My heart started racing,” Beverly testified.

She went on to express that between 1980 and 2006, Aswad sought to control every single aspect of her life and the lives of their children.

“He equaled himself to being a prophet. As time went on, he was god-like. I had to call him, ‘my god.’ He equated himself to Jesus Christ … He would sit us all down and lecture us about his greatness and his power … At another point, he equated himself to Prince and Michael Jackson,” Beverly told the courts.

Aswad is accused of deliberately impregnating his daughters in an attempt to create a “pure bloodline.” Beverly expressed to the courts that she blamed herself for not seeing this coming, as she revealed that four years prior to the pregnancy of her daughter, he told her that spirits were telling him to perform oral sex on the child, who was 8 at the time.

“I was shocked. I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ He tried to present it in this very godly, spiritual way,” she testified.

Her testimony also revealed that Aswad frequently walked around their home in the nude and sodomized one of their daughters at least 100 times. When asked why she never called police, Beverly said that he threatened to kill her children.

“He threatened he would kill my children. He would cut them up and put them in different places and I wouldn’t be able to prove anything because I didn’t have a birth certificate for any of them,” she tearfully admitted just after revealing that some of her children didn’t have birth certificates because Aswad delivered all but two of them himself in their home.

As stated earlier, this is the second of five jury trials that Aswad will have to face. Back in 2010 he was found guilty of molesting one of his other daughters. The molestation is said to have began when she was 8 years old and continued up until he impregnated her as a teenager. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison. With all five trials combined, Aswad is being accused of raping all five of his daughters and impregnating three. If convicted on all counts in the present and pending trials, Aswad faces more than 100 years in prison. He is being tried for the rape of each daughter separately to prevent bias among jurors.

Aswad is known to the world as the man who directed the music video to accompany infamous Fugees track, “Killing Me Softly,” which went on to win Best R&B Video at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.
