With ex-husband Chad Ochocino making headlines for being in hot pursuit of women, many have been wondering whether or not reality star Evelyn Lozada is also open to meeting someone new and loving again. The Jasmine Brand recently caught up with the 37-year-old Brooklyn native at Tami Roman’s nail polish launch event. During her interview she discussed finding love after divorce, her relationship with Iyanla Vanzant and coping with critics. Check out a portion of her interview below.

On what she desires in a future husband:

“I just really want my future husband, very God fearing. That is something that is really important to me especially the last eight months. People say that you go through stuff and your God’s best friend; He truly got me through so much that is first and foremost. What ever he looks like is fine, I guess that will all come. And this time I’m like ‘I’m not choosing…’ I’m going to let Him bring whoever that person is to me…even if it takes three years, it’ fine, I’m cool.”

On becoming accustomed to being harshly criticized:

“I’m so used to it, I’m so used to controversy so if there isn’t any… I’ve grown to have thick skin. I’ve grown to know everybody’s going to have an opinion and I’ve been called every name in the book. It’s just a part of putting yourself out there.”

On continuing her relationship with Iyanla Vanzant:

“Iyanla has been such a blessing to me. We recently talked over text. She has just really helped me through my whole process. She just really helped me open my eyes to things that you don’t think about, or things growing up that effect you today. She’s been great and she came at a time in my life when I really needed some type of guidance. It made say, ‘Why am I the way I am?’ Why am I so angry and why do I accept the things that I accept. She’s just been great.”

Sneak Peek: Check Out Tami Roman In The New TV One Series “Belle’s”

Tami Roman, WENN

Reality television star Tami Roman is making major moves these days. First, she reappears on the scene looking fabulous with a new slim physique, announcing her partnership with weight loss supplement NV Clinical. And now, according to News One, we’ll be able to check her out every week as she stars in TV One’s new original scripted series, “Belle’s”.

The show’s plot is centered around a widowed soul food restaurant owner and his two adult daughters, following the death of his wife Belle. Tami, who plays Loretta Cooper is described via the show’s press release as “a beautiful, stylish, self-absorbed prima donna with ambitions that alternate between a career in the music business, fashion and finding a rich husband.” It seems that Loretta does not like working at the restaurant and often pretends that she is not an employee. She believes she was destined to be a star, not a waitress. Tami’s co-stars include Elise Neal, Keith David, Ella Joyce and Miguel Nunez.

Roman appears to have her hands pretty full these days, considering that she recently began filming season 5 of “Basketball Wives” as well. She recently revealed in an interview with Tania On The Scene that her role in the television series and her daughters are actually what prompted her to shed the weight.

“They [my daughters] were a big part of it [the weight loss]. They weren’t used to seeing their mom be about 190 lbs. I’m tall so I wear it well, but they were like ‘Mom, you have got to get it together. This is not cute. You’re about to do a new show and “Belle’s” is coming out. You need to represent,’ so I was inspired to just do something,” said Roman.

I think it will be pretty cool to see Tami outside of the reality television setting that we’re so used to seeing her in. Belle’s is set to premiere on February 1st at 10 pm EST.

Check out a clip from “Belle’s” on the next page. What do you think of Tami’s acting? Will you be checking out the show when it airs?

I Get Why People Would Believe That: Evelyn Lozada Talks Being Blamed For Provoking The Chad Ochocino Assault

When news of Chad and Evelyn’s physical altercation first leaked back in August, people wasted no time accusing the “Basketball Wives” star of initiating the fight. People even went as far as to say that she got what she deserved. After watching her erratic behavior on the last season of “Basketball Wives”, it was difficult for many to view her as a victim when they tuned in week after week only to see her victimize her fellow cast members. In an interview with Vibe, Evelyn shared that she understands why people blamed her for the incident and accepts full responsibility for her actions last season.

“I felt that I was getting blamed for the incident happening and it was hard…but at the same time I take full responsibility for putting this perception of me out there that I just argue and fight. That’s what most people connect me with, especially with last season. So it’s like ‘Oh, okay well maybe she did something to deserve what happened.’ And I’m like ‘I didn’t do anything’. “

She also expressed how grateful she was that Chad spoke out and cleared up any misconceptions that she may have initiated the fight.

“He did an interview… he was honest and real. I finally felt relieved that he said I didn’t have anything to do with what happened that day. He takes full responsibility…”

I believe that the ability to view a situation from multiple viewpoints exhibits growth. Since the incident and of course her life-changing encounter with Iyanla Vanzant, Ev appears to be continuing down a path of positivity. Hopefully she keeps this in mind while the cameras are rolling and that temper of hers wants to flare up.

After Losing Her Mind On TV, She’s Losing Weight: Tami Roman Shows Off Her Big Weight Loss In OK!

Tami in OK!

After a tumultuous 2012 that had her looking like a bully, Tami Roman is starting off 2013 with a positive outlook and a new look in general thanks to a 35-pound weight loss. The Basketball Wives star, who has been particularly MIA after the whole petition against her show and public outcry from people back in May, decided to quit smoking recently, and when she did, the stress of it all caused her to pack on the pounds. In an interview with Shape, the 41-year-old mother discussed the reality check she gave herself by doing research. “I’m big on research. I decided I had to make a change, so I researched and researched until I found a product I liked, which is how I settled on NV and NV Sprinkles.”

If you don’t know, NV Sprinkles is a dietary supplement powder that Roman has been pushing since mid-last year. It’s said to reduce your hunger and help reshape your figure if you take one supplement during breakfast and another at lunch. Roman says that she didn’t want to just stop cutting out her favorite foods, but she did want to eat healthier and less. “I lost seven pounds in the first week of taking NV without making any major changes to my life,” Roman says. “But in the second week, I thought to myself, Tami what would happen if you added a little light exercise to your routine? So I started at 10 minutes of working out. That soon became 15 minutes, then 20, and then it became 30.”

Roman told both Shape and OK! that she’s already down six dress sizes and last time she checked, she was a size six. At 41. Well gon’ head with your bad self! And to go with her new weight loss, homegirl has new acting endeavors in the works. She told OK! that she’s going to be on the new scripted show Belles on TV One, is starting a cosmetic line, and will continue to go out for lunch and go on trips with her “Basketball Wives” friends when the show comes back on Vh1 (probably in the spring or early summer). Until all that starts though, she’s pushing for people to be healthier, telling Shape, “We’re seeing people in their 30s dropping dead of heart attacks. People really need to make a conscious decision. It won’t be instant. It takes you time to gain the weight; it’ll take time to lose it.”

Quit Fronting: Royce Reed Fuels Talk That Shaunie Isn’t Responsible For ‘Basketball Wives’

Despite Royce not being included in the upcoming season of Basketball Wives, she hasn’t allowed this “minor” detail to hinder her ability to fire shots at her former cast mates. In her latest Twitter rant, the former Basketball Wives star calls out Evelyn Lozada for talking trash about her and attempts to thrash Shaunie O’neal, by co-signing on Gloria and Laura Govan’s claims that Shaunie is doing some serious fronting and that she is in fact not the original creator of the Basketball Wives franchise.

While we’re not exactly sure what Royce is claiming Evelyn said about her, whatever it is, she seems to be fighting mad about it.

“Still tryna figure out y @EvelynLozada keeps my name n her mouth if I’m so irrelevant?” she tweeted.

“U stopped filming w/me bcuz I punk’d ur a**,” she continued, alluding to the rumor that she was cut from the show’s cast because Shaunie and Evelyn refused to film with her.

“I’m also not 1 2stay quiet 4 too long whn u keep talkin ish! Period!” she wrote seeming to have reached some sort of breaking point.

Royce didn’t stop there though. I guess she figured while she was handing out licks, she may as well as get at everyone. Next on her list was Shaunie O’neal. She pulled no punches as she hopped on the bandwagon  where folks are claiming that Shaunie is merely a puppet and not the original creator of the Basketball Wives franchise.

“Had 2 say it. Also Tom Huffman is the idea behind Basketball Wives. NOT Shaunie O’neal. She turned it dwn 4 Love Shaq that nvr aired.”

While the Govan sisters made claim that Shanuie wasn’t responsible for Basketball Wives: LA, everyone pretty much assumed that Shaunie was behind the franchise as a whole, but now Royce seems to be ringing the alarm on that as well. It’s hard to tell whether or not Royce’s claims are accurate or if she’s just a disgruntled ex-employee, but I can’t see Royce confirming anything that comes out of Gloria’s mouth unless it were true, considering that the two became sworn enemies during season one of the show.

What do you think of Royce’s angry Twitter rant?

You Know What They Say About Making Assumptions: Evelyn Lozada Explains Her “Date” With Chad Johnson

January 2nd, 2013 - By Jazmine Denise Rogers
Share to Twitter Email This

Source: evelynlozada.com

Last month, reality star Evelyn Lozada made headline after headline as she began expressing how she felt about her ex-husband Chad Johnson and even revealed that she felt he deserved another chance. Eyebrows raised as news broke that she and Chad made their first public appearance together at a Florida courthouse where she requested that a judge lift the no-contact restraining order that she had against the former Miami Dolphins player. Once this occurred, most folks assumed that news of a reunion between the reality stars and a resurrection of the unaired show, Chad & Ev wasn’t far behind. A few days ago, photographs surfaced of Chad and Evelyn on what appeared to be a pre New Year’s Eve date. Considering the fact that only days prior to being spotted together, Chad stated that he and Ev were living together via his Twitter page, it was difficult not to believe that their little outing only confirmed their reunion. However, Evelyn is saying that the outing was not at all what it appeared to be and that she and Chad are not back together. In a blog post featured on her website entitled About Last Night, she provides an explanation regarding her date with Chad.

In the post, she shared that she felt it necessary to address the photographs because things were getting a “wee bit out of control”. She went on to express the reason that she and Chad were spotted out together was because she was attending his appreciation dinner with his daughter.

“I attended a dinner with Chad’s daughter, not only because I love baby girl like my own, but to support Chad and his fan appreciation dinner.  While at the dinner, several photos popped up on the Internet of Chad and I holding hands, while in the process of blessing the food.”

She also addressed the current status of their relationship and whether or not the two are actually living together as Chad previously stated.

“I care for Chad, we are friends and we love one another, however, we are still separated, not living under the same roof and working on ourselves because we have a long way to go.  This is a normal and realistic process for anyone and I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I know God holds it and I’m taking things one day at a time.”

While the photographs that surfaced did appear to tell the whole story, her explanation does seem to make sense. We’ll say her story checks out, for now anyway. We hope that she’s sticking to her original feelings that a romantic reunion probably isn’t the best idea considering the positive strides she’s been attempting to make lately, but we all know how it is once you allow an ex to get his foot in the door. Next thing you know, he’s moving in.

What do you make of all of this?

In Case You Missed It: Shaunie O’Neal And Her Kiddies Get Photoshoot Fresh For Holiday Picture

Shaunie Holiday Photo

While you were playing Dominoes (aka, Bones) with your family or trying to keep folks from getting too crunk off of alcohol in your home, Shaunie O’Neal was with her own family, and found the time to post a picture of her family holiday photo on Instagram. In her long red gown and fab hair, she stood amongst her five children (she does NOT look like someone who popped out five babies by the way) on the stairs of their home as they all tried to give fierce to the camera in their nicest holiday attire. The children of Shaunie and Shaquille O’Neal are definitely used to being in front of the camera, as they’ve done numerous magazine spreads with mom, and even appeared on “Basketball Wives,” so this shoot was clearly a piece of cake.

The young man in the hat at the bottom of the stairs is Shareef, then going up the stairs is Myles (Shaunie’s son from a previous relationship), Amirah, Shaquir and Me’arah. I think I was expecting her and the kids to have your average, ordinary, smiley holiday photo, but this particular image gives off a Kardashian-esque vibe to me. However, the kids are too fresh and cool for school, and mom is giving us the diva look and she had better work it! What do you think of the picture?

You Signed Up For The Wrong Show: Reality TV Stars Who Should’ve Been On A Different Series

Now that most of my favorite reality TV shows are a few seasons in, I’m starting to feel like I actually know the cast members, and the more I find out about them, the more I can’t help but feel like a few have signed up for the wrong show. I’m not talking about the typical, nobody on this show is really a basketball wife, so why are you wrongness, I mean people whose personalities and issues would actually make them better for a different series altogether.

Yeah OK: Tami Says The Next Season Of Basketball Wives Is Going To Be Family Oriented

Tami Roman

Source: WENN

I know Tami Roman is a bully, but I didn’t peg her for a liar. Unfortunately, I think she stretched the truth just a bit far in a recent interview with Coco Fab. The ladies over there asked her what was to come on the next season of “Basketball Wives,” and she claims we are going to be pleasantly surprised. Here’s what she told them:

“People are really going to be surprised at the approach we’re going to take this season because it’s more family oriented, not as much drama. What you’ve seen in past seasons was real, but that’s not how our lives are 98% of the time. We’re excited to show you more than just the drama.

“I’m a busy mom and I have a new show coming out and I’m focused on that. I’m really a loving person and you’ll see that on season five.”

They might claim the show will look more like “Hollywood Exes” but we’re not dealing with Hollywood Exes players, and we know VH1 don’t play that fun loving stuff — especially with this franchise.

Something else interesting that came out of Coco Fab’s reporting was that not only has Stephon Marbury’s wife, Tasha, joined season 5, so has Kevin Garnett’s wife, Brandi, and Dwight Howard’s ex, Hope Alexa. I imagine he’s kicking himself right now thinking about the fact that the producers got rid of his baby mama only to add his ex the very next season. Let this be (yet another) lesson about who you do the nasty with.

What you do you think about Tami’s claim that season 5 will be family oriented?
