Nia Crooks Reflects On BBW Slap In Letter To “Fans,” Says She’s Thankful It Happened
Jennifer William’s lawsuit against Nia Crooks may have disappeared, but the woman responsible for it has not. Yesterday, the highly controversial assistant to Evelyn Lozada who made a lasting impression with just two quick cameos on the last season of “Basketball Wives,” wrote a post on her blog titled “Thoughtful/Thankful Tuesday,” and inside she reflected on her actions on the show and how the situation has put her in a better place. Here’s what she wrote:
Another 5 a.m. wake up that puts me in a tired space, but my body seems to be adjusting, somewhat. I arise in such a thoughtful mood. “Thoughtful Tuesdays” or “Thankful Tuesdays,” I will call this. Are you aware that your deepest thoughts arise with your mornings? While our minds rest overnight and we wander through dream world, the first eye opening of your new day is filled with so many deep thoughts. Today I’m so thankful! I’ve had some of the best days of my life lately… And I await more of God’s greatness. I’m thankful for all the trials and tribulations My Lord has put me through, as well as, pulled me through. Look back and say to yourself, “I never could have made it, without you” (Marvin Sapp voice). What a mighty God we serve. I always wondered how my Lord feels about my wrongs and my rights, my sins and my blessings, my curses and my gifts? Have I activated my purpose or is my life pointless? Are the challenges and obstacles in this life setting me up for more greatness? I don’t recall ever being this happy with self, but I’ve smiled more lately than ever. I must be making My Lord proud, in my opinion. Not to mention my name means “purpose,” so I must be on somewhat of the right path. Although I tend to veer off at times, (bare with me Lord). On this last day of July, I decided to write. I’ve been a writer my whole life and contrary to what TV displays, there’s so much depth to me. It’s crazy to me how in the eyes of a viewer, one thing dictates all others. I’ve been judgmental before as well, so I’m a part of the statistics. However, being in it and being of it has tainted my vision. I judge no more. Chances must be taken, as well as given, to experience a whole self. Someone must know you, to know you.
To all my fans, (lovers and haters), you all were introduced to my representative. Undoubtedly, she was in a negative representation state, but I view self as this, I never knew how I was, until I was, now I am – if that makes sense. We must see self, to see self. And believe me, I SAW. The attitude adjustment bureau was definitely called. I’m thankful for the opportunity for two reasons. First, for allowing me to be introduced to the world and secondly, for allowing me to see me. A lot of blessings and depression have come out of this, BUT, I’m still here, (Tupac voice). Which means love overpowers all, any day. My Lord kept me… The example of me that I allowed the world to see will never be how I would like to make a mark on anyone’s world, let alone my own. Every person on earth is better than that, including me. Months have passed, tears have shed, pain has been felt, challenges have been faced, embarrassment has halo’ed and guilt has lingered. But today on my Thoughtful Tuesday, I give thanks for every single hardship that has turned into greatness. I’m sure there will be plenty of days where My God will place me back into the fire, but when he puts out the flames and heals all my burns, I will once again feel “Anew”. As we close out the July chapter of our lives and walk into a dewy August tomorrow, dig into your thoughts and just give thanks.
I’m sure Nia is feeling extra thankful that Jen dropped that lawsuit against her as well. She definitely got a second chance after her reality TV debacle; hopefully she makes better use of this opportunity than she did appearing on “Basketball Wives.”
