Last night “Basketball Wives LA” fans across the country gasped in horror as they witnessed VH1 newbie Sundy Carter hit co-star Brandi Maxiell completely below the belt.
“Go take your medication,” Sundy spat at Brandi in the midst of a heated argument. “Go try to make a baby, I have three,” she added.
Throughout her debut season of ‘BBWLA,’ Brandi has been open about her battle against ovarian cancer and the struggles that she has been facing to conceive the second child that she and her husband have been so desperately longing for. Naturally, Sundy’s low-blow comments didn’t sit well with many—including the show’s executive producer Shaunie O’Neal.
“I want to apologize for the comments made on tonight’s show,” Brandi expressed in a heartfelt Instagram post following last night’s season finale. “For anyone out there whose lives have been affected by this horrible disease, I’m sorry.”
“I love you guys for all the support you have given me. It took me a long time to muster up the strength to even talk about my situation publicly.”
Her post continues:
“I’m forever grateful for my miracle baby, I’m grateful for the breath that I have inside of me. I thank God everyday. I will continue to spread awareness and the importance of getting checked, because I would never want you to go through what I have to endure daily with checkups and struggles to have a child. My husband and my son are the reasons I have the motivation to keep pushing. Without them I’m nothing.”
The reality star also recently sat down with HipHollywood, where she discussed the current state of her health and her progress with IVF treatment.
“I didn’t do this show to argue with these women,” Brandi explained. “I did this show to show and bring awareness to my cancer. Everyone can relate—whether they’ve had ovarian cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer, whatever. Somebody can relate. And I had fertility issues. I just wanted to talk about that.”
Unfortunately, the basketball wife is still grappling with fertility issues.
“Fertility is still tough,” she confessed.
The good news, however, is that she’s still cancer free.
“If I have a cramp in my stomach or a pain in my stomach or a headache I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’ But I’m good with the cancer. I have levels that are still up and down, but with the fertility, it’s still not good.”

BBWLA’s Brittish Williams Weighs In On The Wives vs. Girlfriends Debate: ‘We All Experience The Same Things’
At the start of the new season of “Basketball Wives LA,” Jackie Christie nearly flipped her wig when co-star Ariane Williams, ex-fiancée of Deshawn Stevenson, expressed that she doesn’t feel there’s much that separates a wife from a girlfriend when it comes to professional athletes. While Jackie made it clear that she feels there’s a huge difference, Jackie’s other co-star, Brittish Williams, says she isn’t subscribing to that school of thought.
“To me, I’m engaged to him [Lorenzo Gordon] and we’re getting married,” the 24-year-old told Sister 2 Sister. “I feel like it doesn’t really matter. If it’s a fiancée, if it’s a girlfriend, we all experience the same things. We all experience him having to be on the road all the time. We experience the light on them because of what they do.”
The reality star went on to express that she doesn’t really understand why wives discriminate against girlfriends.
“There really should be no barriers as far as, ‘Oh, well, she’s a girlfriend, or she’s a wife but she’s a fiancée.’ No one’s better than the other one.”
As for co-star Draya’s previous claims that she’s the exact same girl her co-stars were prior to getting their rings, Brittish says Draya should probably just speak for herself on that one.
“I’ve only slept with one athlete, so I don’t know who [Draya was] before. I can count on my hands how many men I’ve slept with. Period. However you feel about yourself that’s on you, but I wasn’t somewhere searching for an athlete at all. I was in school studying to be an anesthesiologist,” she reasoned. “It’s not like coming in as someone that’s slept with all these basketball players and that’s my affiliation.”
“I believe they say her affiliation was that she slept with all these basketball players or something crazy like that, so they put her on the show,” Brittish added. “So, she’s just on the show, I guess, because she’s on the show.”
What are your thoughts on the wives vs. girlfriends debate?
If you’ve watched just one episode of Basketball Wives LA, you know Jackie Christie loves her some weaves. On any given day, you’ll catch the self-professed HBIC of the clan rocking a low weave ponytail, straight tracks, or some sort of messy bun on top of her head, but during LA Fashion week Jackie Christie switched it up on all of us by rocking her natural hair.
In a series of Instagram pics, we see Jackie showing off this slicked down pixie cut which one can only assume means she’s feeling herself and her new look quite a bit, judging by the number of photos and angles.
Jackie hit the LA Fashion Week shows with fellow BBWLA cast member Sundy and it looks like the two had a ball from the front row. Check out a few more pics of Jackie’s new look on the next page. Are you feeling it?
If there’s one good thing about “Basketball Wives LA” this season it’s that there are finally more wives on the show than girlfriends, exes, and mistresses. We had a chance to chat with two of the real-life basketball wives, Brandi Maxiell and Malaysia Pargo, and we couldn’t wait to ask the newcomer what it’s been like joining her friend on reality TV and how her husband, Orlando Magic power forward Jason Maxiell, feels about her portrayal on the show thus far.
Brandi also talked to us about her fertility struggle and updated us on where she and Jason are with their family planning, and we finally got to ask Malaysia a question that’s been burning on our tongues for years: Is there such thing as a faithful pro athlete? Check out what she had to say in the video above. And FYI, we couldn’t get her to comment on the issue of infidelity within her own marriage even though we tried.
It appears that “Basketball Wives LA” star Brittish Williams may need to set some time aside to get her business in order. According to The YBF, the 20-something reality star has failed to pay personal property taxes on her Missouri home. As a result the state has served the her with a $1,816.84 tax lien. It’s currently unclear if she is in the process of resolving her issues with Uncle Sam, but the lien is still listed on the department of taxation website.
In addition to that, it’s also being reported that her online clothing store Love of Labels Boutique has been given an “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau. In the last eight months, the boutique has reportedly received 30 complains regarding customer service, shipping and product issues. Customers have also lashed out on Twitter and Instagram over the difficulties they’ve experienced after making purchases from the boutique.
A representative from BBB spoke to Fox 2 Now about the issues that Love of Labels Boutique customers have been experiencing and he says these complaints should be taken seriously.
“We attempted to contact the company in December by asking them to explain what was going on and why these things were happening, and we got no response,” said Chris Thetford. “We attempted to contact the company in December by asking them to explain what was going on and why these things were happening, and we got no response.”
Brittish has since released a statement via her publicist where she apologized to customers.
“I would like to sincerely apologize as the founder/creator of Love of Labels to all those who were affected by the delay in items shipped,” the statement reads. “Love of Labels take this matter very seriously, which is why we have switched to a larger manufacture that allows us to ship ALL orders the next business day. I can assure you that your concerns are not being overlooked and that we are working effortlessly to accommodate every request.”
Hopefully she can find a way to get a better handle on her business.
Brandi Maxiell has been open about her battle with ovarian cancer since her first episode of “Basketball Wives LA,” but what many don’t know is that the mom and reality star was diagnosed with the deadly illness when she was just 24 years old.
“I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 24,” she told VibeVixen. “I just graduated college and it was really shocking for me to find out that I had cancer. I was completely healthy and my family was healthy. It was tough. I didn’t know what was going on; it came as a shock to me and my family. After the treatment, I was healed and it was definitely a life changing experience.”
Brandi went on to reveal that her diagnosis came during a very eventful time in her life.
“The cancer came at such an exciting time of my life. I just graduated college, my husband was in the NBA and life was great. Back then, I was like, “This is turn up time!” (Laughs) and then God said, ‘Hold on baby, I got other plans for you.’ I lost my hair, I gained weight from all the different medications I was taking and that really took a toll on my self-esteem.”
Through it all, Brandi says that the challenging experience taught her a lot.
“Although my experience was shocking and heartbreaking, it was also a humbling experience. I learned so much: who my friends were, how important family is and how loving my husband is. At first I was like, ‘God, why me?’ But I realized that he chooses the best things for the best people.”
We imagine that had to be a lot to go through at such a young age, but Brandi seems to have bounced back beautifully.
‘I’ll Pay You Double To Sit Your A** On The Couch:’ Draya Says Boyfriend, Orlando Scandrick, Wants Her To Quit ‘Basketball Wives LA’
Since episode one, the ladies of “Basketball Wives LA” seemed to be going after Draya. Unsurprisingly, as any good boyfriend would, her NFL-playing boo, Orlando Scandrick, is clearly not too pleased about it. Though only two episodes from the new season have aired so far, Draya says that the Dallas Cowboys cornerback is already suggesting that she quit the show.
“You know what? I think it’s been really hard on my boyfriend,” Draya said during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood. “We watch it together and he’s came to the point already. It’s been episode one, we saw 60 minutes of what is going to be going on for 12 weeks and he’s like ‘You know what? I don’t think you should do this next year. How much are they paying you again? I’ll pay you double to sit your a** on the couch.’”
Dating a reality star certainly is not for the faint of heart. Later this season Orlando will also find himself at the center of some of the controversy, as viewers will soon witness Draya’s co-star Jackie Christie accuse him of cheating on Draya with her daughter, Chantel. While it doesn’t appear that Draya will be taking Orlando up on his offer anytime soon, she did share that she plans to eventually leave the show.
“Well, I think that ‘Basketball Wives’ is my date to the prom so I gotta dance with her for a little bit because that’s who I came with,” she explained. “But I don’t have to go home to her at the end of the night. So I would like to do my own thing eventually. Once the ‘Basketball Wives’ train comes to a stop, I would like to graduate into the Draya Show and I’m already transitioning into that.”
Would you give up a job because your man asked you to?
The hot and heavy romance shared between former “Basketball Wives LA” star Bambi and “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star Scrappy appears to have fizzled out pretty quickly. Just a few short months ago Scrappy was hollering about how Bambi is the only person who remained in his corner during his latest rehab stint.
“Bam my boo,” he shared during a taping of “Kandi Koated Nights” a few months back. “The reason I say that is because off-camera, she was really there. She was really there when I was going through my shiznayee.”
Apparently her off-camera compassion wasn’t enough to hold their relationship together because the two have officially parted ways—and it does not look like the split was amicable. It’s unclear how long the reality stars have been apart, but Bambi announced the breakup in a not-so-subtle way to Instagram followers over the weekend.
“Got mad at it and I don’t want it no’ mo’,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Y’all can have y’all n***a back,” she added throwing obvious shots at Scrap’s chronic side-boo Shay “Buckeey” Johnson and his ex-fiancée, Erica Dixon. “It was fun. Y’all guls need to thank me. I taught him how to treat a lady.”
There’s no telling what prompted the split, but there’s a possibility that money problems may have contributed to their situation.
“When a rich n***a want you and your n***a can’t do nothing for you,” she added in another post.
Her posts were later removed. Honestly, it’s not all that surprising that this couple didn’t make it. Maybe we’ll get to witness the drama unfold during the new season of “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.”
Your Man Was Dating My Daughter: Things Get Extra Messy In The ‘Basketball Wives LA’ Season Three Teaser
Although the last season of “Basketball Wives” came to a rather boring close, it looks like spin-off “Basketball Wives LA” still has a few good seasons left. VH1 recently dropped the trailer for season three of the popular series and there seems to be a ton of messiness going down.
The trailer opens with a pretty steamy scene shared between Draya and her Dallas Cowboys boyfriend, Orlando Scandrick. The two can be seen making out on a kitchen countertop during an anniversary celebration. Then, Orlando presents Draya with a small jewelry box. It’s tough to tell what’s in the box, but it looks like there’s a chance that it’s an engagement ring. Of course, we’ll have to tune in to see what that’s all about.
Judging from the first scene of the 22-second trailer, it almost seems like the new season is going to show a more positive side of Draya’s relationship. But by the next scene, it’s pretty obvious that there will be plenty of drama and messiness mixed in as well. The scene begins with Jackie Christie questioning Draya about how long she’s been in a relationship with Orlando.
“Six months,” Draya responds.
“Well, he was dating someone else… my daughter,” Jackie replies.
I’ll definitely be tuning in to see how that turns out. Season 3 debuts Monday, February 17th.

Apparently Maxim’s annual list of the 100 hottest women on the planet just opened for nominations (pardon us for not putting this on our list of things to care about) and someone is pretty salty they didn’t make the cut. That someone is “Basketball Wives LA” star Draya Michele who sent out a slew of disappointing tweets after she saw the news over the weekend.
The white world is really hard to break into.

No Maxim Top 100 again this year for Draya. I guess they don’t like my look.
