MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico City prosecutors say they have arrested two men in connection with the death of Malcolm Shabazz, the grandson of political activist Malcolm X.

An official of the city’s prosecutor’s office who was not authorized to be quoted by name says the two suspects are employees of the bar where Shabazz reportedly got in a violent dispute last week.

Oh, That’s What It Is? Suge Knight Says Katt Williams Isn’t Crazy – He Has A Short Fuse!

It appears Katt Williams and Suge Knight are now besties. We’ve heard about Katt Williams bugging out almost every week for the last month or so and finally – finally – Suge Knight has stepped up to tell us what the real problem is.

In regards to all his recent problems, Suge says this isn’t Katt’s fault. He told TMZ,  “People test him because he’s small and the best comedian of all time.”

Of. All. Time.

The two were together in Seattle when Katt was arrested for being in a bar fight.  Knight says they were watching the Seattle Seahawks/Chicago Bears football game – rooting for Chicago – and some fans were offended, so to speak.  Allegedly, they started the fight so of course, Katt had to defend himself against the angry Seahawks fans. Knight says people do this all the time – starting trouble with Katt – and he “just don’t take no sh!t.”

By the way, Suge also likened Katt’s problems to those of Mike Tyson and the late Richard Pryor while they were in their glory years saying, “That’s what happens when you’re the best in the business. Sometimes you just have rough times.”

Clearly, Suge had a lot to say and doesn’t appreciate the way Katt has been “portrayed” by the media. But if he’s a real friend, hopefully, he’s trying to get in Katt’s ear as well and tell him he doesn’t have to react to everyone that “bothers” him.

Rappers Beefing and Guns (Allegedly) Popping? Oh Yes, It’s The BET Hip Hop Awards!

This is why we can’t let some rappers get more famous than a few spins on the radio, some videos and some tours.

There was a fight last night in Atlanta during the taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards. This time the culprits were Young Jeezy and Rick Ross who are continuing some silly beef that started last year. The quick backstory is that Ross, if you’ll remember (or if you ever cared), had a song out called “BMF.”  Jeezy had an affiliation with the actual BMF (Black Mafia Family) crew and I believe he was a little offended by Ross naming a song after them. He threw some musical jabs at Ross, Ross threw some jabs back and so, here we are.

Some kind of way Jeezy and Ross crossed paths backstage while the show was going on. From what was gathered through Funkmaster Flex’s Twitter account, there were words exchanged which quickly turned into…pushing and shoving.  I’m don’t at all condone grown men fighting but if you feel inclined to do something, perhaps you should just go with a punch versus some schoolyard pushing. But, I digress.  The details actually get a little fuzzy at this point but the Atlanta Police Department, who was called to the scene, say there were no arrests, no injuries and no gunshots involved in the altercation.  Speaking of guns, however, All Hip-Hop reports that rappers Gunplay  and 50 Cent had a hand in this entire fiasco.  To add insult to injury, the fight happened during the tribute to the late Chris Lighty.

This is really ridiculous. Has a year gone by where the BET Hip Hop Awards has fully taped without something stupid like this happening? Is it a prerequisite that some rapper(s) must agree to embarrass the industry in this way? These are men pushing 40 years old fighting over things that mean…nothing.  Sure, the people in charge at BET should have done a much better job at making sure the two rappers (and their entourages because you know the entourages are more foolish than the artist) never crossed paths.  However, it is up to these grown men to accept that they just don’t like each other and keep it moving.  Don’t even acknowledge each other.

Some people just don’t deserve the spotlight. They have no idea what to do with it.

(Chicago News Cooperative) — Nothing could have prepared Jessica Moore for the morning 19 Chicago police officers rushed her front door around 8 o’clock.  According to police reports, they found $48 of marijuana in her son Devonte’s room and a $12 dime bag in her boyfriend’s pocket. Police arrested her boyfriend, but not her son.  Years in the Cabrini-Green public housing project had taught Moore what to expect next. A few days after the September 2009 bust, the Chicago Housing Authority notified her that her lease would be terminated.  Moore, 39, is one of hundreds of low-income residents the housing authority has taken to eviction court since 2005 for violating the agency’s one-strike policy. If residents get one strike — exactly what that means — the C.H.A. can try to evict them. The rule is part of federal guidelines created in 1996 to make public housing safer.
