How much will it cost you to imprint “I’m Married” onto your husband’s finger?

Five hundred and fifty dollars.

Touted as the “Anti-cheating ring”, Huffington Post reports that TheCheeky.com is selling a Titanium wedding band that has an interior engraving that reads “I’m Married” backward. When the ring is taken off, the words are left imprinted on the wearer’s finger — exposing his or her true marital status.

Colin Hart, a spokesman for TheCheeky.com, told HuffPo that the ring was created with famous married lotharios like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tiger Woods in mind but to be fair neither the former CA governor nor the golf legend needed an imprint to tell the women they cheated with that they were married. That was pretty common knowledge. However, for mere mortals, this company may be on to something. Men come up with all sorts of reasons not to wear their ring, and this ring just keeps on talking whether it’s being worn or not.

The ring’s description on the website says:

“We have created this wedding ring for people intent on cheating. The negative engraving on the inside means that when you are in the ‘Club’ and an attractive woman…or man comes along to chat, slipping your wedding ring off is not an option. The mark left on your skin says…’I’m Married’”

If a husband declines to wear the ring then that’s definitely a red flag. But, then again, if you feel you need to get this ring for your husband then that’s a red flag in itself. But perhaps, to each his own! I can imagine some women switching out their husband’s ring for this one when he’s not paying attention but I can’t imagine it being a true deterrent though. How many people are looking for an imprint when scanning a man’s hand for a wedding ring? If we’re looking that hard these days, won’t a tan line do the same job?

Still, it’s a noble thing this website is trying to do: stop philandering men from tricking conquests into believe they’re single. Here’s hoping the women don’t have “I don’t care” imprinted on their foreheads.

What do you think? Would you buy this ring for your husband?
