Phaedra Parks criminal past

We told you in the past about Angela Stanton. She is a former colleague of Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida (I guess you could call her that), and she went to jail for fraud. She also claims that after her first stint in jail, she got involved in racketeering with Apollo and Phaedra, which is what Nida went to jail for, and served even more time for that. When she was released, seeing Parks shining on the show (and mad because she claims that Parks refused to represent her as her lawyer when she was facing jail), Stanton decided to write a tell-all book called Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil, which was to reveal that Parks was involved in just as much dirt as Stanton and Nida. But Parks has been proactive from the moment she heard about the book in an effort to shut all that down. She filed a massive $30 million defamation lawsuit, and Stanton, while commenting on Nida’s recent fraud arrest, said she lost her royalties and more because of the suit:

“Although tragic, the news of Apollo’s arrest has been vindicating for me. Since I published my book, Phaedra Parks has used her wealth and influence in an attempt to silence me. She filed lawsuits against my publisher, and threatened them with years of expensive litigation if they did not cease publication of my book. As a result, I lost nearly all the royalties I was owed. Ms. Parks used her influence in the media to discredit my story and smear my name, casting me as a delusional liar on the pages of popular blogs. After going to prison and losing everything, my story was all I had left, and she took that from me.”

Stanton has been the only one to speak on that lawsuit, but Phaedra Parks is now speaking up. According to Radar Online, on March 31, Parks filed an affidavit in Georgia as part of the suit in response to Stanton’s request for a summary judgment (Parks wants that judgment denied), stating that everything Stanton has said about her has been false.

Parks says that she never did any dirty deeds with Stanton, saying that she “has no knowledge of or connection with any ‘bank fraud scheme” and “was never involved in any criminal enterprise with [Stanton].”

Parks says that as Stanton wrote her book and made the damning allegations about her, Stanton knew she was out here telling lies, saying: “the allegations made by the Defendant in her Book and referenced in the Plaintiff’s Complaint are false” and Stanton “knew the statements she made about the plaintiff were false when she made them.”

And the most important statements came when Parks let it be known that she’s never been in trouble with the law and never has and never will be involved in any crimes:

“I have never been arrested for a crime or charged with any crime. I have never been questioned by any law enforcement agency about any possible involvement in a crime. I have never been involved in any criminal schemes with Defendant Stanton or anyone else. I have never committed any crime other than routine traffic violations.”

But just a  couple of months ago, Stanton talked to the Daily Mail and stood by her statements on Parks:

“I have admitted I did wrong. I served my time and even gave birth to a daughter while I was chained to a prison bed. I am not trying to make out I am something I am not.  I just want the truth to get out there so people can see Parks for what she really is.”

There you have it. Parks has defended herself in the court documents (which you can see via Radar) and says she’s clean. But who do you think is lying in this?

‘They Kiss And Hug Each Other:’ Were Phaedra Parks And Angela Stanton Secret Lovers?

Well, it appears that there may be another major twist in the Phaedra Parks-Angela Stanton saga. In case you’ve been living under a rock and somehow missed it, Angela is a former acquiantance of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star who claims that she served major prison time after a fraud scam that allegedly involved Phaedra went awry. In 2012 Angela wrote a tell-all titled “Lies of a Real Housewife,” where she recounted the stories of her alleged dealings with Phaedra. Phaedra later sued her ex-friend in response to the allegations.

Fast forward to today, in a newly released sworn statement pertaining to the lawsuit, Angela’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Cody, suggests that the two women were more than just friends and alleged business partners.

“I actually thought that Angela and Phaedra had an … I thought they were together,” Justin said in the statement obtained by Radar Online.

Naturally, his statement prompted further questions.

“Like, as a girlfriend?” the attorney questioned.

“Girlfriend,” he responded.

According to Justin, Angela’s “closer than close” relationship with Phaedra is what contributed to their breakup.

“That was one of the reasons me and Angela broke up,” he continued. “Because they was like real close, like closer than close.”

When asked what led him to that conclusion, Justin responded:

“Phaedra’s birthday is in March or sometime early in the year,” said Justin. “And I remember one time Angela and Phaedra, they spent the night out during Phaedra’s birthday and Angela spent the night at her house and they went on all these parties and wild parties and she didn’t come home for like a couple of days.”

He adds that once he questioned Angela about the nature of her relationship with Phaedra, the two got into an argument, which was basically the beginning of the end of their relationship.

“I’m like, what y’all got going on? And so we got into an argument about that and about then it turned into an altercation and that was like one of our first breakups.”

“Her and Phaedra was so close that, you know, I actually thought they was together…” he explained. “They kiss each other and hug each other.”

The accusations seem pretty wild, especially since Angela has never made mention of carrying on a romantic relationship with Phaedra. But hey, you never know.

‘This Story Is All Too Familiar To Me:’ Angela Stanton Responds To Apollo Nida Arrest

Well, it looks like Kenya Moore wasn’t the only one hollering, “I told you so,” when news broke that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida has been arrested yet again. Angela Stanton, who wrote a 2012 tell-all about Phaedra Parks and her alleged criminal dealings, has also responded to news of Apollo’s arrest.

“In 2012, I released my personal memoir, ‘Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil,’” Angela said in a personal statement. “In the book, I detailed the struggles I faced as a young woman drawn to the temptations of crime and the false glamour it affords. I alone am responsible for the mistakes I made as a young woman. Yet, I have felt a certain sense of anger toward the people who used me during that period of my life. Certain individuals found me at a time when I was vulnerable and searching for friendship, and used those traits to lure me into doing their bidding.”

Angela went on to say that she can relate to the woman being implicated as Apollo’s accomplice.

“I read with sadness the news that Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, was arrested for alleged schemes that are remarkably similar to those that lured me years ago. I was troubled to learn that the alleged crimes involved the use of a vulnerable woman to carry out the schemes. The story is all too familiar to me. I sincerely hope that Ms. Parks has not been part of his alleged crimes. I hope that she, like I, learned from her mistakes.”

She also addressed the $30 million lawsuit that Phaedra filed against her in response to her tell-all.

Speaking of Apollo’s recent arrest, Radar Online recently published extensive details regarding the terms of the reality star’s bail release and boy, are they strict. For starters, he is being required to regularly report to his probation officer, turn over his passport, refrain from drinking alcohol and surrender all firearms. As if all of that isn’t enough, Apollo is only allowed to leave the Atlanta area if officials approve of his travels in advance. He must also appoint a supervisor to accompany him on those trips. Oh yeah, he has been ordered to actively seek employment—appearing on RHOA doesn’t count. Court documents also warn that violation of any of these terms “may result in the immediate issuance of a warrant for your arrest … and could result in a term of imprisonment, a fine, or both.”

Sheesh!

Phaedra Parks Defamation Case Brought to Screeching Halt After Key Witness Is Arrested For Identity Theft Tax Fraud

Seriously, where the hell does Phaedra Parks meet her friends? Last year former acquaintance of Phaedra Parks, Angela Stanton, came forward with a memoir titled, Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil. In the book, Stanton claims to be exposing the nitty gritty on the self-proclaimed Southern belle’s criminal past. In addition to the memoir, Stanton participated in an explosive interview with Vibe, during which she shared the backstory on who she is, how she came to know Phaedra and shared some of the dirty details that can be found in her book about the reality star. Not long after, news leaked that Parks filed a $30 million lawsuit against the publication and Angela, claiming that they published the article about Stanton to Vibe.com even though they “had actual knowledge that the accusations against plaintiff were false prior to publication.”

Now, just days before Phaedra and Angela were scheduled to meet in court, we hear that it may actually have to be pushed back five months! According to Straight From The A, Phaedra’s key witness Justin Cody, who also happens to have a child with Angela, was recently indicted on Identity Theft Tax Fraud charges! I know, I know, it’s like a never-ending scandal, but catch this: homeboy is being accused of stealing hundreds of identities and claiming over $600,000 in fake tax returns! Pretty ironic, right? Well Angela thinks so, too. The über messy alarm ringer took to her Twitter page to taunt Phaedra and Justin about his arrest.

“WELP!!! There goes her star witness 2 weeks before trial. oh’ the irony of it all…#Favor,” she tweeted.

“Maybe Phaedra can help” she added.

“Fortunately 4 me My sons father wasn’t dealing with me or my son every since Phaedra contacted him last year in September! Lol! Thank God!”

“If the Feds want you they got you it wont be a mystery. I wonder what Phaedra & my sons father really had going on…”

Although Angela may have gotten a good chuckle out of her opponents misfortune, she has also reached a rather large bump in the road because according to Access Atlanta, her attorney Eddie Beal just up and quit on her. Court documents state that Eddie was “representing Stanton on a pro bono basis, always with the understanding that she would secure other counsel.” They go on to say that her financial situation has made it difficult to secure another attorney.

“Due largely to her depressed financial situation, Stanton has been unable to secure another attorney” but that she “believes she can secure the services of another attorney within the next two months and that the case could be ready for trial within the next five months.”

Mmm mmm mmm…

Still Messy: Author Who Put Phaedra’s Criminal Past On Blast Claims Deion Sanders Slept With Her Daughter

October 12th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Bossip

You remember Angela Stanton right? She’s the woman who wrote a book about “Real Housewife of Atlanta” Phaedra Parks and put her alleged criminal past of racketeering and insurance fraud all the way on blast in Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil.

If you didn’t realize the author was messy from that move alone, check the foolishness she unleashed on Twitter this morning. Not only is she accusing Deion Sanders of being unfaithful to Pilar, which I’m sure she won’t mind considering all the dirt she throws on her own estranged husband’s name, but she’s also throwing her own 18-year-old daughter under the bus, claiming Deion cheated on Pilar with her.

Going on a #StopTheSilence Twitter movement, Angela sent out a slew of Tweets directed right at Deion Sanders and even Pilar, exposing the former NFL stars taste for teenage girls.

A few people began to question Angela’s daughter’s innocence in the whole situation based on some suggestive modeling pics of her floating around on the Internet which prompted the mother to respond:

@UrsulaESQ True, but Ursula you cannot compare the mind of an 18 yr old girl, to a 50 yr old on any level

@UrsulaESQ That man was married all he wanted 2 do was to leave her w/ a wet tw*t, lying & deceiving 2 get what u want is never fair

@UrsulaESQ but @deionsanders flew my baby to NY under the presumption that he was going to invest in her lipstick line, he had no intention

@UrsulaESQ then when she got there w/o my consent or knowledge he was on something totally different! She was wrong but he DEAD WRONG

Then later Angela seems to take a more “comical” approach to the whole situation, tweeting:

Come on up to my hotel room baby so we can talk about your lipstick line *wink* put something Hot on! (In my @deionsanders voice)

Umm, I’m sorry is she talking about her daughter or a random woman on the street? I obviously can’t confirm how much truth there is to her story but if it’s true, why is Angela putting her daughter’s life on blast so cavalierly for the sake of attention, especially a daughter she claims is now a third-year law student with a 4.0 GPA?

I need Angela to find a new hobby other than messiness ASAP.

It’s a Legal Family Affair: Phaedra’s Mama Filed Her Own Million-Dollar Lawsuit Against Vibe

June 11th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: realitystarbuzz.com

Phaedra and her mama might be one step away from breaking the bank over at Vibe. We told you Phaedra had filed a $30 million lawsuit against the company for publishing the story of Angela Stanton, a supposed old acquaintance of Phaedra’s whose written a tell-all seemingly airing out the pair’s dirty criminal laundry. But it seems there were some other stories in the book that got less attention but rubbed Phaedra’s mother, Regina Bell, the wrong way nonetheless and now she’s taking legal action too.

On top of claiming Phaedra used to flip cars and write fraudulent checks, Angela apparently accused Phaedra’s mother of “witch-doctory” and concocting potions to abort children. As ridiculous as that sounds, considering Mrs. Bell is a pastor I can see why she’s rushing to clear up these accusations. She’s reportedly demanding a retraction and $6 million in damages from Vibe, claiming that she is now publicly hated and has been ridiculed because of the book they published by Angela Stanton, Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil.

In the documents, Pastor Bell is said to claim to be a respected preacher who has ministered in her community for 33 years and certainly never created any potions or offered to help abort unborn children. A judge has yet to rule on the filing but I can only imagine how tight Vibe is holding it’s breath praying that the final decision will be in their favor. It’s probably not looking too good though on top of her daughter’s $30 million suit. When all is said and done, I think someone is going to have some new church hats for the pulpit. What do you think?

Phaedra “Everybody Knows” Parks Is Suing The Pants Off of Vibe

May 25th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Remember a couple of months ago when Vibe broke a story on Angela Stanton, Phaedra’s supposed old buddy who exposed their criminal past making fraudulent checks and flipping cars back in the day? Well Phaedra’s not having it. She just filed a lawsuit against Vibe magazine for $30 million dollars for publishing the story. She’s seeking $5 million in compensatory damages and $25 million in punitive damages, attorney fees, and a published retraction.

In documents from the Courthouse News Service, Phaedra claims that Vibe.com “had actual knowledge that the accusations against plaintiff were false prior to publication”:

Parks claims the defendant published a defamatory article about her on www.vibe.com, on March 14, under the headline, “‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Star Phaedra Parks Exposed!” She says a similar article an interview were published at uptownmagazine.com, both of which were still online when she filed the complaint Tuesday.

She claims the articles “convey a grossly inaccurate and false impression of Stanton’s relationship with plaintiff,” and “falsely accuse plaintiff of being a crooked attorney who knows how to commit crimes, has committed crimes, and knows how to cover up her criminal activity.”

Parks claims Vibe published all of Stanton’s allegations in the book “Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil.”… the complaint states: “The gist of the book is that plaintiff is a crooked attorney who engages in professional misconduct and a multitude of criminal acts, is false and defamatory.

“The book in its entirety constitutes libel per se in that it imputes criminal activity to plaintiff. …

“Prior to the publication, and evidencing a reckless disregard of truth or falsity, defendant failed and refused to provide plaintiff with an opportunity to respond to the allegations made against her in the articles, interviews, and the book. “Defendant knowingly and purposely avoided and ignored evidence establishing the falsity of the articles, interviews, and the book prior to publishing them. …

“Prior to the publication of the false and defamatory statements, defendant had actual knowledge that the criminal activity alleged by Stanton had occurred many years ago and had been thoroughly investigated by law enforcement authorities with no criminal charges being brought against plaintiff, but with criminal charges being brought against Stanton, which resulted in her incarceration in prison.

“Evidencing a reckless disregard for truth or falsity, defendant published accusations against Plaintiff without conducting even a cursory investigation, which failure constitutes gross negligence.”

Welp, it’s not looking like such a good day for Vibe. Interesting that Phaedra was investigated for the crimes Angela claimed she committed, sounds like somebody might have gotten off…but I didn’t say that.

Do you think Phaedra will win her suit?

Former Friend of Phaedra Parks Exposes Her Criminal Past

March 15th, 2012 - By Brande Victorian

Source: Thirsty Roots

Phaedra better pull out her prayer cloth, honey, because a former acquaintance is revealing some deep, dark secrets about her past.

When Phaedra first joined the cast of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the southern belle’s marriage to “ex-con,” Apollo Nida, was the big scandal in her plot until she dismissed his criminal involvement as a white-collar crime. But now a woman Phaedra supposedly used to run a crime ring with says Apollo isn’t the only one in the family with a criminal past, and she’s exposing all of their secrets in an upcoming memoir, Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil.

Angela Stanton says she first met Phaedra at a party back in 1999 and the two quickly became close friends. They soon became involved in criminal activity as well, making fraudulent insurance checks for more than two years before she and Apollo were caught and locked up. Only doing a short stint, Angela says when she was released, she hooked back up with Phaedra, Apollo, and his brother and they began getting involved in federal racketeering, stealing Porsches, Hummers, and Cadillacs for three or four years and flipping them. Since that’s the charge Apollo reportedly went to prison for, Angela’s story does seem possible. And she also said since Phaedra is an attorney, the agreement was that she would represent her, Apollo, and his brother if they were to ever get caught.

Although Angela was sent to prison for five years for their crimes, and is clearly a little bitter, it’s obvious why she’s choosing to expose
Phaedra now.

If Phaedra was just a regular Atlanta resident rather than a reality TV star, these allegations would’ve never seen the light of day—which is what makes Angela’s detailed account a tad suspect. But now, there’s no telling how many people will pick up this memoir when it’s released in a few days. Sounds like Marlo might not be the only “housewife” with a busted past.

Check out this clip of Angela talking about her criminal past with Phaedra? Do you think there’s any truth to this story or does this woman just want to make a quick buck?
