Yesterday, we told you that  TLC mysteriously decided to snatch reality show, Starter Wives Confidential off of the air, after releasing only three episodes. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to conclude that one of the famous exes of the women on the show probably had something to do with it, but the ex that came forward was a bit surprising. In case you haven’t been keeping up with Starter Wives Confidential, the mother of 50 Cent’s son, Shaniqua Tompkins was cut from the show during the first episode, after being caught up in some legal red tape. The way it was portrayed on the show, she signed a book deal with 50 a few years back, which prohibited her from divulging any information about him or their relationship on the show. This is why when it came to possible exes who could’ve had something to do with pulling the plug on the show, 50 was the last person to come to people’s minds. But, he shocked us all when he took to his Twitter page to taunt the ladies from the show and take credit for having a hand in its cancelation.

Cast member and ex of Floyd Mayweather, Josie Harris, clearly flustered with 50 chose to fight back, claiming that the actual cause of the cancelation was that the show’s ratings were too low.

It Was Fun While It Lasted: TLC Gives Reality Show, ‘Starter Wives Confidential’ The Axe

If you were a fan of TLC’s latest reality show, Starter Wives Confidential, you’ll be saddened to know that the network has decided to pull the plug on the rest of the season. While the exact reason why the show has been canceled hasn’t been revealed, it’s quite obvious that the exes of some of the ladies who appear on the show weren’t exactly thrilled about their dirty laundry being aired out once a week on national television. Not to fret though, the remaining episodes will be available on TLC’s website. The announcement was made by Funkmaster Flex’s ex-wife, Monica Joseph-Taylor via her blog, Mommy’s Dirty Little Secret. Check out her full statement below.

If you want to watch the remainder of episodes of Starter Wives Confidential you will have to go online to TLC.com.

Ask me why? ::Long pause::

Is it ratings? Is it a change in network direction…or all the outside drama?!

It’s no secret Starter Wives Confidential was plagued by legal inquiries and possible lawsuits from the beginning. Starting with Shanequa Tompkins being missing from all the episodes, her ex 50 cent allegedly had an agreement or contract with her of some sort that either prevented or made it difficult for her to partake in the show. I know before taping even began I was questioned about my posts relating to anyone connected with Lamar Odom. Luckily TLC had no control over what I do or can post so it became a non-issue. I never did find out who was putting pressure on them. Cut to the Lil Kim situation, one which I’m still confused about and can’t even confirm if there is a law suit.

Bringing a show with women of color to TLC we always knew was a challenge and I love that they believed in our stories and gave us a voice. A voice, honesty, love, a lot of drama, and a bit of ratchetness. (Usually required for any good reality show.)
I can only imagine there were a lot of people who were afraid what would come out on Starter Wives Confidential and as you saw from the first few episodes, the ladies were NOT holding back! Trust me it gets better and much juicier. But I digress. (I always wanted to say that in a post.)

I want to say that from the very bottom of my soul the support and love from viewers was more amazing then I imagined. Even the haters felt our show was genuine. I love that personally I got to not only bond with 5 amazing women but was allowed to show that not all celebrity wives sit home, model, or are simpletons. For the first time people got to know who I really am, if even just a little bit.

So it SUCKS that you have to watch episodes online but it beeeez like that sometimes. But make sure you still log onto http://www.mommysdirtylittlesecret.com everyday for the latest news, gossip, and info (c’mon y’all know me by now, why pretend anymore #endlesspromotion #bossb**ch #keepitmovin #letmefinish)

P.S. I realize I didn’t answer why we are not being aired anymore…you will just have to judge for yourself. ::Closes the shades carefully as she writes and presses send::
- Monica Taylor

While many will probably be relieved to hear the news that another ratchet reality show has been booted off of the air, I can’t help but feel a bit sad for a cast member  like Tashera Simmons, who avoided drama and was just utilizing the show as a means of supporting her children.

What do you think of the show being pulled off of the air?

It’s Looking Like A Fight! Floyd Mayweather Sues Wine Bar For Using His Name & Making a Huge Profit

Besides getting busy in the boxing ring, one thing everyone knows about Floyd Mayweather is that he loves making money and showing it off.

However, he’s now suing a New Orleans wine bistro for using his name as well as the Money Team name – his crew which includes Justin Bieber, his girlfriend Miss Jackson and possibly still 50 Cent – to lure in patrons and getting pretty big pay off during Super Bowl weekend.

In the lawsuit, Mayweather says The Wine Bistro advertised everywhere that he and the Money Team would be hosting a party with DJ Drama on February 1st. The problem is that Mayweather says neither he nor anyone from the Money Team agreed on any such appearance for the establishment. He is concerned that they made lots of money from his name and his fans will be upset with him for not appearing.

Part of the reason it seems Mayweather would not have ever appeared at this place is because he says he makes upwards of $100,000 per appearance and it’s very possible that The Wine Bistro would not have been able to afford that.

He’s asking that they not ever use his name and also for a lot of money, although the actual dollar amount has not been revealed.

You know what? We can’t even be mad at Floyd for this one. Sure, he’s cocky and extravagant but when your name is being used to make a profit and you don’t see any of it (not to mention you didn’t agree to it), it makes sense that he would take legal action. Many celebrities will take to their social media accounts to just debunk any rumors about them making appearances but they won’t take it any further if word that they will be appearing has already gone past their reach.

There’s been no response from The Wine Bar.

Cartoon Fifty? 50 Cent Ready To Enter Into A Deal With Fox For Animated Comedy Series

Rapper 50 Cent certainly appears to have achieved his life’s mantra to “get rich or die trying”. The entrepreneur has been making money hand over fist since he went mainstream with street anthem “Wanksta” back in 2002, and he seems to be maintaining that same momentum. His most recent endeavor is a comedic, animated series, that is somewhat based on his childhood, reports Deadline.

50 has partnered with feature producer Randall Emmett of Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV. The show, which was actually written by Carl Jones, will follow a precarious, but well-meaning little boy and the sticky situations he finds himself in with his “eccentric” family and neighbors.

The project is currently untitled and is still being negotiated, but is expected to get a pilot or presentation order from Fox. In addition to Randall Emmett and Carl Jones, 50′s all-star team includes television producer’s Andrew Jameson and Brian Grazer. This will be the second project that 50 has released based on some of his life experiences, the first being his 2005 movie Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

The series sounds like it has the potential to be quite entertaining and successful, especially since 50 already has a fairly humorous personality. Talk of this show puts me in the mind of Damon Wayans’s Saturday morning cartoon, “Waynehead”, which I found to be pretty funny, although I’m not quite sure if 50′s show will be kid-friendly or not. I’m really interested to know who would actually do the voice of the show’s protagonist. I’d be absolutely tickled to find out it’s 50.

50 and Emmett have also partnered up to executive produce “Power”, a scripted series that follows the life of a crooked night club owner. It is said to be in development at Starz.

What do you think of 50 Cent’s latest endeavor?

Male Artists Whose Bedroom Lyrics Have Us Wondering…Do They Really Have It Like That?

We’re used to male artists tooting their own horn when it comes to what clothes, cars, jewelry, and houses they can afford, not to mention the women they can pull. We’re even used to hearing rappers like Kanye, Jay-Z, and Nas referring to themselves as “the best rapper alive” but now their modesty has been flushed down the drain in a whole different ball game; their skills in the bedroom.

None of us should take everything that comes out of these artists mouths as fact, but when a man is constantly making references to pleasuring a woman with a “hurricane tongue” or having women feeling like he invented sex, we simply can’t help but wonder; do they really got it like that?! Here are 15 artists who don’t shy away from mentioning the way they can get your juices flowing in the bedroom, on the staircase, on the balcony… and the list goes on and on:

Stick to Music: Top 10 singers and Rappers That Make Bad Actors

You would think this would be obvious, but being an award winning musician does not automatically qualify you to suddenly become an actor. In fact, there really is no connection at all; but for some reason, these artists have fooled themselves into believing there is.  Sure there are the few exceptions like Will Smith, who was able to cross over into acting without any acting training at all; but let’s be real, most musicians are NOT and will NEVER be Will Smith. Somehow, that didn’t stop them from trying. Here are 10 singers or rappers who tried their hand at acting… and failed:

50 Cent

Sure the autobiographical movie, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ had something of an interesting story line, and some might say it was worth it just to see 50 cent’s booty alone; but when you actually look at more than 50 cent’s behind, he is a not so good actor. This was another case of “acting” like yourself…and even though the movie was about him, he still had a hard time making his own storyline seem convincing.

Because He Has Nothing Better To Do: 50 Cent Laughs Off Rick Ross Shooting, Says It Was Staged

*Sigh*

Just when you think you want to like 50 Cent, he says something a little crass, a little ignorant or a little random to make you roll your eyes at him again.

While I’m not the biggest fan of Rick Ross and his penchant for rapping about a lifestyle that’s not really his own, I definitely wouldn’t be as bold to say that the man faked a drive-by shooting, in Miami, on his 37th birthday. Especially since he ended up driving into a building with his girlfriend in the car. But I guess when you’re a man who has been shot nine times, you get a kick out of questioning other people’s run-ins with gun violence.

The shooting occurred at 5 a.m. on Monday morning, when Ross and his girlfriend, Shateria Moragne-el, were fired upon as they were driving home after his b-day festivities. To flee, Ross wound up crashing his car into an apartment building. As news was going out about the incident, on Twitter yesterday, Fiddy played the me-thinks-I-smell-a-liar game with Rick, claiming that because the rapper’s car was photographed with no bullet holes in it, chances are, he faked the whole shooting to get attention and to play into the whole lifestyle of a drug dealing gangsta that Ross often raps about.

Hahaha fat boy hit the building?lol it looks staged to me. No hole’s in da car

hahaha that boy was spooked. I ride like OBAMA level 6 built proof, bomb proof, you already know. #SMSaudio

After saying there were no holes in the car, 50 Cent posted a picture of Ross’ Rolls Royce after the incident, looking as though it had escaped all bullets that came its way. But pictures posted by different sites, including the Daily Mail, definitely show the car with bullet holes near the driver’s side. Plus, Fort Lauderdale police say that witnesses on the scene during the shooting claim that dozens of bullets were indeed fired at the car, but the rifle toting suspect luckily was having an off day and didn’t hit the rapper or Moragne-el.

Maybe, but I’m just the type of person who just hopes that individuals wouldn’t fake such a serious occurrence, but I think with all the threats that have been thrown his way from gangs, this shooting was the real deal. Either way, we’re just glad the big man and his lady are all right, and a little disturbed that Fiddy found the whole ordeal hahaha-worthy. But then again…this is 50 Cent we’re talking about.

Come Clean: 50 Cent Confesses That Ciara Played A Major Role In Chelsea Handler Break-Up

The relationship between Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and Chelsea Handler has been over for quite some time. Yet, people are still somewhat intrigued by it. It could be the odd couple-ish nature of their relationship or even the rumors surrounding what actually caused their break-up. Whatever the case, even with all of the time that has passed since the two went their separate ways, the media is still questioning them about the fling and break-up.

50 Cent recently paid shock jock, Howard Stern a visit. During the interview, 50 confirmed that his split from Handler had everything to do with his former flame, Ciara. The way 50 tells the story, Cici was upset to learn that he was dating Chelsea and made somewhat of a fuss about it prior to her appearance on Chelsea Lately.  50 expressed to Stern that he attempted to warn Chelsea ahead of time of possible tension. This infuriated Handler.

“Wouldn’t you want to tell someone that? How do you treat that if you had something from your past?” 50 expressed to Stern.

January of last year, Chelsea first spilled the beans to Stern regarding the love triangle.

“It was so dumb. it’s almost embarrassing. I really can’t remember the exact the details, but I’ll tell you what I can remember. I think one of his ex-girlfriends was coming on my show and she’s one of those singers -I can’t remember her name. She’s really hot. He was dating her I guess previous to me.

Right before Anguilla, Ciara–that’s her name!–was coming on the show, and he called me to tell me something about her like she still calls him all the time, and she still tells him that she loves him or something. And I’m at my job, and I go “Curtis, honestly this is like eighth grade Shyte. Why are you telling me this?  This girl is coming on the show tomorrow, and now I have to look at her and think you guys have some weird thing going on or had going on.”  It was so juvenile. I’m at my work and I work my A$$ off all the time, and I have million different things and even though it’s not like important work, I am working hard. I’m doing Shyte. He said, “I want you to hear this conversation” and he was like calling someone like a 3-way phone call. I go, “So you’re telling me this girl wants to get back together with you, but she’s upset that you’re dating me, is that what you’re saying?” He’s like, “Yeah, so I just want you to know when she comes.”

Isn’t it funny how things work out? These two are still blaming Ciara for their break-up, meanwhile Cici appears to be happily in love with someone new.

Check out 50′s full interview on the following page. What do you think of 50 and Chelsea still blaming Ciara for their split?

Ready For Hollywood Exes 2.0? TLC Releases Trailer For New Reality Show ‘Starter Wives Confidential’

In case you were in need of another reality show to add to your rotation, TLC recently dropped a trailer for its upcoming reality show Starter Wives Confidential. If you recall, back in September we told you guys that the production of a show starring the exes of some entertainers whom most of us were quite familiar with was in the works. The show’s cast was said to include:

Zakia Baum: Ex-girlfriend of Jermaine “Maino” Coleman and mother of his son.

Cheryl Caruso: Ex-wife of mobster Phillip Caruso and mother of his two daughters.

Josie Harris: Ex-girlfriend of Floyd Mayweather and mother of his three children.

Monica Joseph-Taylor: soon to be ex-wife of Aston “Funkmaster Flex” Taylor and mother to his two children.

Tashera Simmons: Ex-wife of Earl “DMX” Simmons and mother of four of his children.

Liza Morales: Ex-girlfriend of Lamar Odom and mother of his three children.

Shaniqua Tompkins: Ex-girlfriend of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and mother of his son.

The trailer depicts the women forming some sort of emotional support group as they bond over the struggles of single motherhood. Many seemed somewhat opposed to the show for pretty obvious and understandable reasons. We all realize that we don’t need another show depicting women in a negative light. Call me an optimist, but judging by the trailer, the show doesn’t look like it will necessarily fit into the drink-throwing, ratchet reality television mold that we’re used to. There appears to be a teeny tiny chance that it may go in a different direction.

Somewhere deep down inside, I’m hoping that this particular show will rise above current reality television standard and bring forth something positive. I’m hoping that instead of resorting to cattiness and bickering with one another after a couple of episodes, the ladies will rally around each other and positively represent single mothers. But again, this is reality television we’re talking about and I could be overly optimistic.

The show will premiere Tuesday, January 29th at 10 pm EST.

Check out the trailer on the next page and judge for yourselves. Will Starter Wives Confidential just be another ratchet reality show that negatively depicts Black women?
