Men have been known to do some pretty stupid things to keep a woman from leaving them, but 50-year-old LB Williams took things to a whole new level when he burned a cross in the driveway of his home in Panama City, FL, to scare his white wife into staying with him.
Apparently after seven years of marriage, Donna Williams said she wanted a divorce and LB wasn’t having it. In addition to the burning cross, her husband left threatening notes on the door that claimed the couple was being watched and that she “better not leave that n*****.” They were signed ”KKK.” This is the point where LB becomes not only a crazy criminal, but a dumb one. Donna recognized her own husband’s handwriting on the notes and called the police who promptly arrested him.
Before even recognizing her husband’s handwriting though, Donna knew the notes couldn’t have come from a hate group: “When did the KKK start supporting black and white, interracial marriages?” she said.
Um yea, LB. That’s three counts of fail for you. The distraught husband was released from Bay County Jail Tuesday, but banned from returning home. He admitted to police that he committed the acts because he didn’t want his wife to file for divorce, saying the offences were “desperate acts of a desperate man.” No argument there.
