She Get It From Her Mama!: Mother & Daughter Stars We Love

Can you imagine growing up with a famous mom? Well, for these women it worked out perfectly because they’ve followed right along in their footsteps.  Check it out and see that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree…

Diana Ross & Tracee Ellis Ross

These are arguably everyone’s favorite mother/daughter combo. The elder Miss Ross is the legendary singer and the younger Miss Ross is the actress we’ve loved for years in all her television roles. Their sense of style is unmatched and their love for each other is unquestionable.

Chip Fields & Kim Fields

If you watched soap operas with your mom or grandmother, you might remember seeing Chip Fields on Days of Our Lives. Fast forward to the mid-90s and you were watching her “twin,” daughter Kim on Living Single. They both have acting credits that span decades and have also gone behind the camera as directors. Younger daughter, Alexis, has also shared a piece of the spotlight.

Blythe Danner & Gwyneth Paltrow

I don’t know about you all but I’m a huge fan of Gwynnie’s mom, Blythe.  Her role in the Meet the Parents movies are always funny and in general, she seems to be super classy while remaining down to earth.  Gwyneth has definitely held her own in Hollywood over the years and I wouldn’t be surprised if she maintained her longevity.

Minnie Ripperton & Maya Rudolph

Look closely and you know that is Maya Rudolph. The actress/comedienne is daughter to the late singer, Minnie Ripperton.  There aren’t many pictures of them together, as Minnie passed when Maya was only 7 years old, but she obviously passed along the “fame bug” to her daughter.  Oh and by the way…? Though Maya plays around a lot, she can actually hold a note!

Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz

Remember when Lisa Bonet got pregnant? Well, I do so I guess I’m aging myself here but 20 years later, her daughter Zoe has been getting major buzz for her acting roles and her part-time modeling gig. She is her mother’s child, sporting the grunge look day in and day out and also by being in Hollywood but still trying to avoid it.  Gotta love it!

Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson

Goldie has been acting since the 70s and almost 30 years later, her daughter stepped on the scene as well.   Whenever you seem them, they seem to be having a good time and I bet Goldie has dropped tons of knowledge on her daughter about Hollywood.

Peggy Lipton and Kidada & Rashida Jones

Peggy Lipton is known for not only being a successful actress on shows like The Mod squad and Twin Peaks, but she was also a model and singer. Having also been married to Quincy Jones, it is no wonder her daughters, Kidada and Rashida have followed right along in her footsteps.  Kidada is a celebrity stylist who’s done some acting (she was also engaged to Tupac) while younger sister Rashida is best known for her role on The Office and is currently starring in Parks & Recreation.

Joan & Melissa Rivers

These women are like two peas in a pod.  Joan has been doing comedy as long as I can remember (and probably longer than I’ve been alive) and as one of the hosts of Fashion Police, she’s now at the age where she can just clown on people and no one cares. Her daughter Melissa has learned from the best as she is funny and a complete smart alec too.  The great thing about them is that they can give it and they can take it!
