Ever notice that every little black girl always has what I like to call a “hair accessory closet?” I rarely see a black girl without some kind of ornament clipped in or dangling from her freshly done up hair. If hair accessories were shoes, it’d be illegal for a child to have that many!

It’s almost as if once we reach a certain age, accessories become a no-no because they remind us of those not-so-great childhood “time to get your hair done” moments or they just feel so childish.

No, I’m not telling you to bring back the rainbow colored beads or the animal hair clips, but don’t be afraid to accessorize! Hair accessories are actually very chic and can be just what you need to complete your look.
