It seems like the divorce saga between Deion and Pilar Sanders will never be over. While the former couple are letting the dust settle, it would seem that things are turning around in Pilar’s favor.

Back in 2014–like that’s how long it’s been going on–Deion sued Pilar for defamation of character.  This was after she claimed that he was physically abusive to both she and their children and had threatened to kill her.

In 2015, a judge sided with Deion saying that Pilar had defamed his character. As a result, she was ordered to pay him $2.2 million.

But today, our sister site Bossip reported that the decision has been reversed.

An appellate panel of three judges ruled that Deion had failed to provide evidence to suggest that Pilar was intentionally trying to harm him by making these statements.

Bossip spoke to Pilar about the decision and this is what she had to say.

“Sooner or later the truth comes out. Never stop fighting for what you believe to be true…Don’t give up on what’s right and what’s true.”

Pilar said she believed the initial ruling was unfair and biased in Deion’s favor. She still claims that she spoke the truth and never broke any law.

“At the district court level, a lot of biased rulings had taken place,” Pilar said. “I knew that if I could get my case outside that courtroom, they’d see the truth of the matter, and justice would prevail as it did.”

The couple were married for 15 years and had three children together. So, you might assume that have to maintain some type of interaction with one another. But according to Pilar they don’t.

“We’re pretty separate. He chooses not to co-parent. I’ve moved on and continued to focus on my children, the present and where they are at mentally, scholastically and emotionally. That was something of the past. It’s brought me where I am today, but I’m glad to move on from it.”
