Word is that Mel Gibson recently verbally assaulted Oksana Grigorieva, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his newborn daughter. According to reports, he went off on a expletive-laced rant.

In one jaw-dropping threat, Mel is allegedly caught telling Oksana: “I am going to come and burn the f–king house down… but you will blow me first.”

In another vile outburst, Mel told Oksana she looked like a “f—ing pig in heat” who — because of her fashion sense — risked getting “raped by a pack of n—ers.”

Great guy, huh?

Here’s the statement the NAACP release about the Mel Gibson incident to RadarOnline.com:

“It is unfortunate that a man of his statue and admiration, who has made his millions off of women, African-Americans and Jews harbor such racist, sexist, and anti-Semitic feeling against people who have admired and respected him for decades.

An apology is insufficient given his history of racism, sexism and anti Semitism.  He has set one of the worse examples for our young children and adults at a time when this country is making significant progress in moving toward a color-blind society.  No amount of words will change his image as an out of date and out of control racist.  Only a sustained period of positive acts can his legacy be redeemed.”

I just read a sister friend of mine say on Facebook: “Women, [you] get upset about transgressions against your race, but also get upset about transgressions against your sex/gender. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is real and we keep giving people (celebrities) passes because we like them and they are gifted.”

Madames, do you think we forgive sexism more than we forgive racism? Is that even possible?
