More Jobs Than A Jamaican: Teyana Taylor Joins “Hit The Floor” And 9 Other Gigs She’s Recently Nabbed
As if she didn’t already have a great deal on her plate these days, Teyana Taylor has yet another job to put on her resume.
According to a press release from BET, the network is bringing back VH1 hit show Hit The Floor, and Taylor is joining the cast.
A few original members from the cast are returning to the show, including Kimberly Elise, Dean Cain, and McKinley Freeman (who played Derek). However, stars like Taylour Paige (Ahsha) and Logan Browning (Jelena) won’t be returning. The latter has found fame as the star of the hit Netflix series, Dear White People.
Taylor will join the series, which is set to begin principal photography in November and will premiere on BET in 2018. According to the press release, the show “returns with more scandal, sex, secrets, intrigue and jaw-dropping dance routines.”
A starring role on the show is just one of many opportunities Taylor has been racking up as of late. Literally, news surfaces every week of the 26-year-old signing on for another gig. Don’t believe me? Check out a few of the many jobs she’s obtained recently.

The After Party
Taylor joins Blair Underwood and fellow artists French Montana and Wiz Khalifa in the upcoming Netflix project being produced by Russell Simmons. The After Party is supposed to be a coming-of-age comedy about two best friends who are giving it one last shot to try and land a record deal before they officially decide to forgo their music dreams for college and military service.
E! Reality Show
Move over Kardashians! Taylor is set to have her own reality show on E! that follows the star, her husband Iman Shumpert, daughter Junie and their family.
Taylor teamed up with Caress products (throoooowback!) to help them sell a line of body washes earlier this year.
Taylor joined rapper T.I. and Mike Epps for a role in the upcoming comedy, The Trap. The project is about a man who heads back home to Atlanta to help his brother and mother with their floundering family restaurant.
Partnership With KISS
Speaking of a throwback, Taylor partnered with this classic beauty product brand to help them open their first Beauty Bar in NYC, an event she hosted on September 28. As she said of her partnership, “I am ecstatic to be partnering with KISS. I love all things beauty and am always changing up my look. There are no rules when it comes to beauty; I love bold looks, and bringing the drama with KISS Nails & Lashes.”
Taylor is helping celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first Honey film by starring in the fourth installment, focused on the underground dance scene in Atlanta. Honey 4 is set to hit theaters in 2018.
Taylor played a burgeoning rap talent in need of the right boost and representation in the VH1 original series, The Breaks. That project follows a group of friends trying to make their mark in the hip-hop scene in 1990.
Fashion Week Gigs
Spring Fashion Week was a winner for Taylor, who stomped down the runway for designers like GCDS, Philipp Plein and The Blonds, stealing the spotlight from just about everyone.
The beauty became the new face of Reebok, specifically the Reebok Classics (i.e., 5411s), back in January. She helped flip the colorways for the shoes (as well as The Question sneaker) and brought a whole new audience to the classic sneakers.
Swimsuits for All
Taylor was one of the faces (and bodies) for Swimsuits for All’s summer campaign. She joined models Ashley Graham and Niki Taylor to rock the classic red one-piece swimsuit made famous through Baywatch.
