Ratchet News: Woman Attacks Father Over… Potato Salad

When Karen Henry tells you to pass the potato salad, you better do it. The 45-year-old Florida resident was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault after she allegedly attacked her father for refusing to share his potato salad last week.

According to CBS Tampa, the woman became enraged, wielding a knife against her 80-year-old father and verbally abusing him. Henry’s father, Hubert, defended himself with a chair before running to his bedroom for safety.

When police arrived, Ms. Henry tried to trick the officers, complaining of abdominal pain. After allowing her to be treated at Florida Hospital Flagler, police caught her on the phone begging her father to drop the charges against her. They then hauled her off to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where she is being held without bail. I can tell it’s going to be a rough Thanksgiving at the Henry household. Too much.

    LOL! Ally C., thanks for the clarification. I was beginning to wonder if people's spelling and comprehension skills were worse than usual. It's still better to use the correct term. It took me a while to figure out what the word meant. I kept saying: "rat-chet, rat-chet" (with an accent mark on the last syllable). Then I said it fast and the phonetic pronunciaiton with the context of the article clicked in my brain. That is just waaayyy too much work (smile).

    Why are people now using the term "ratchet" when the correct word is "wretched?" According to Dictionary.com, "wretch" means (1) a deplorably unfortunate or unhappy person or (2) a person of despicable or base character. I agree with the author's opinion and this wretched woman needs therapy or should go to jail for her action.

      It's just slang, it means the same thing but, it's a way to really stress how "wretched" it is.

    @Candy, I bust out laughing at your post, but when I realized her dad was 80-years old it made me wonder if she hasn't been abusing him for years over something less. It is a shame.! What happened to the days when BLACK CHILDREN regarded their parents AND GRANDPARENTS as the family member that was held up to the HIGHEST REGARD! This BROAD looks INSANE. I can only imagine what this poor father has had to deal with if indeed he was living with her. Send this B-tch up the river to get her just punishment.
