Meghan Markle Says She And Prince Harry Are “Two People Who Are Really Happy And In Love”
After having people track her movements, follow her family around and even call her ex-husband up for some tea on her blossoming relationship with Prince Harry, actress Meghan Markle, 36, is finally opening up about the love she and the 32-year-old royal share in a cover story for Vanity Fair.
According to Markle, they met through mutual friends in London last year, and ever since there was even a slight rumbling about them, Markle’s life has completely changed.
“It has its challenges, and it comes in waves—some days it can feel more challenging than others,” the Suits star said in the story. “And right out of the gate it was surprising the way things changed. But I still have this support system all around me, and, of course, my boyfriend’s support.”
But she says that she has stayed the same, even when Markle could have acted up when tabloids wrote pretty ugly things about her and even her family. While Harry decided to speak out and chastise those publications (officially letting the cat out of the bag about their relationship), she’s not sweating it.
“I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple,” she said. “We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
But with that being said, there is still a lot about what they have that the couple wants to keep to themselves for now. However, for those wondering about them, she says they’re doing just fine. Well, better than fine actually.
“We’re a couple,” she continued. “We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
