I hope you all are paying attention the moves she’s making and the voices Ava DuVernay is amplifying.

If you’ve ever read any of Butler’s work, you can see how they could easily transition to the screen, if done properly.

In fact, six years ago, Charing Ball wrote about why Butler’s work had yet to be adapted.

Turns out, the right person hadn’t arrived yet.

Thank God for Ava because according to Variety, she along with Charles D. King, and Victoria Mahoney will adapt Butler’s Dawn into a television series. Writer/director Mahoney, best known for her debut film Yelling to the Sky, starring Zoe Kravitz and Gabourey Sidibe, will adapt the novel. King will produce.

Dawn is about a Black woman who works with aliens to resurrect the human race after nuclear war.
The way Trump and Kim Jong Un are talking, it might be something we need to not only watch but study intensely.

Butler, who died in 2006, will be represented by her estate and its agent. This will be the first time her work had been adapted for television. a
