Gabrielle Union Is Kicking, Squatting And Dropping It Low At The Gym To Build A Booty
Inside the pages of Health‘s September issue, which features Gabrielle Union on the cover, the star stated that one of her favorite workout moves currently is squats. According to the 44-year-old, she’s on a mission to build a booty — her words, not mine — and we all know how well squats work in the mission to lift and strengthen those glutes.
“Right now I’m on build-a-booty,” she said. “So we did a specified workout to build up your butt, and you have to eat a specific way. You have to eat more protein to build muscle.”
You also have to commit to more than just one exercise to see some changes, and in a new video the star shared on her Instagram page, she takes us inside of her workouts. We see how Union prepared for her Health cover shoot and the work she put in before heading to the set for a long day of shooting Being Mary Jane in Atlanta. She did the Stairmaster with kickbacks integrated, pistol squats using TRX suspension equipment, leg rotations with a resistance band, as well intense upper body and core work with the help of a medicine ball and lat pull down machine. Union’s workout was put together by trainer Keisy Myumi, who is pretty much the authority in the ATL on how to build up your backside the natural way.
Union is hopeful about those glute gains, because as she told Jimmy Kimmel a few months back when she covered Women’s Health, some people were asking her where her booty went.
“I had my own deflate-gate situation,” she said. “Everyone was like, ‘What happened to your a–?’ and I was like, ‘That is months’ worth of squats!”
“They were very disappointed that [my butt] was so small and flat,” she added.
But we think she looks amazing. Keep up the good work, sis. Drop it low and keep it tight!
