Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic Shares His Favorite Beauty Products
Whether you love her or hate her, one thing you cannot deny when it comes to Kim Kardashian is that her skin is flawless and natural-looking glow– even with psoriasis. While keeping a clean diet and consistent workout regimen is definitely key, her trusty makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic (@makeupbymario), is her secret weapon when it comes to slaying on red carpets and at events.
Recently, Cosmopolitan caught up with the famed makeup artist who revealed a few of his top favorite products he uses on his clients. And of course, we had to clear out our laptop bookmarks because his list has some really interesting items we’re definitely down to give a try.
To begin, Mario swears by makeup brushes, not a Beauty Blender, to give clients a seamlessly blended look. He uses the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Makeup Brush ($35). “When I say this brush blends flawlessly, it blends so flawlessly. You could use it for a primer, color corrector, highlighter, illuminator, foundation, contour — any of those products and it truly works. I like it because I don’t like to use my fingers, for example, if I’m putting tinted moisturizer on myself [or] if I have to be on camera or something,” he shared. “It’s just so easy for me to get that really super-natural look where you don’t see any makeup on the skin. My advice for using it is always just float it on the skin. It works best like that by not applying too much pressure.”
For those gals with oily or combination skin, you’ll definitely want to listen to the next tidbits Mario offers up when it comes to foundation. “Right now I’m really into a new foundation from Laura Mercier called Flawless Fusion (Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation, $48). It’s a matte foundation that gives you coverage but doesn’t look makeup-y, and you don’t have to use powder with it. I’m kind of obsessed. It just gives you a nice coverage and it’s build able.”
Well, between a battery-powered makeup brush that blends makeup flawlessly and a long-lasting matte foundation that doesn’t give the cake face effect, we’re halfway there to getting a beat face the Mario way.
