When In Style proclaimed Yara Shahidi the “most stylish teenager in Hollywood,” they weren’t exaggerating. The 17-year-old beauty shuts down nearly every red carpet she steps foot on, and as for her spread in the August issue of the mag, well, as should come as no surprise, she killed it.
But while we may be new to this — noticing the starlet’s fashion sense that is — Yara certainly is not. In fact, she told In Style when she was in junior high and high school at the Immaculate Heart Catholic school in L.A. she always found little ways to spruce up the school girl uniform.
“I loved making it my own by adding a bow with a fun pattern,” she shared. “The dress code made me appreciate how clothing is an extension of self-expression. I love that it’s something I have power over every day.”
Judging from her style, Yara just might be the most powerful teenager in Hollywood as well.
