October 28th, 2011 - By IndigoBlack

It never fails. If it is your born day, aka, the day that is your birthday, black folks are going to sing or play the version of “Happy Birthday” by Stevie Wonder. While that track was created to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., everybody and their mothers breaks it out when they find out it’s someone’s special day. And that’s how it is. Certain occasions, situations, and days of the week just have that designated song that people break out and hum, sing, or play when they’re ready to jam. From family cookouts and weddings to widely celebrated holidays and Hallmark ones, here’s a list of songs you need to put on your playlist for any and all occasions.
