One thing I have always loved about men is their solution-oriented practicality. It often leads to annoying frugality, i.e. “I’m not paying X amount of dollars for that!” But in this case, that mindset worked out perfectly.
Chris and Queen are a couple in Detroit who, according to Refinery29
, “regularly broadcast scenes from their life almost daily on their LiveRaise
account.” One such recent scene was a video of Chris taking down his wife’s weave after she shared she planned to go to her stylist to get it taken out and her husband balked at the $50 price tag and declared, “I could just do it myself!”
I hate to use the term relationship goals, but damnit if this isn’t it, I don’t know what is. See Chris didn’t take down his wife’s hair begrudgingly or carelessly, he took his time with it and even narrated his steps. “It’s not that hard, you just cut the little strings,” he says on camera. “Don’t cut the hair, cut the strings. Fellas, if you ever wanna take out your wife’s hair or your girlfriend’s hair, just cut the strings. Don’t cut her hair, okay?” Say that again. I also love the fact that he cuts the video short to get back to taking out the hair as he scoffs at the thought of paying $50 to do it.
Listen, I have three bundles of hair laying around waiting to be installed right now that I won’t simply because I hate the removal process — and don’t have a husband like this one here to help me with it. Shout out to Chris for being the husband many a weave-wearing woman always wanted.
