Our Favorite Duets
When two amazing artists push their egos aside and come together to record some good music, we can’t help but to be excited. Check out the list of some of our favorite classic and contemporary duets and let us know which ones you love or what we may have forgotten!
Method Man and Mary J. Blige- “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need To Get By”
How many of us grew up saying we’d come down the aisle doing the ‘Mary bop’ to this? Okay, maybe not the aisle…but you got to play this Hip-Hop love classic at the wedding reception.
Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell-“You’re All I Need To Get By”
We wouldn’t have the Meth and Mary classic without the original! You got to love a song that grandparents, parents and children alike can all groove to.
Keith Sweat f/Jacci McGhee- “Make It Last Forever”
While most folks can’t name the female singer on this track without the help of Google, this is undoubtedly one of our favorite 1980’s duets and a certified classic.
Lauyrn Hill f/ D’Angelo- “Nothing Even Matters”
If we could just remember these two the way they were. Better yet, maybe they can get back in the studio and work up another classic duet!
Deborah Cox and RL- “We Can’t Be Friends”
If you aren’t convinced of the legendary status of this song, request it during karaoke and see how the crowd reacts!
Allure and 112 “All Cried Out”
We love the Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam original…but the vocal superiority of the singers on the remake have rendered it the definitive version.
Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn- “If This World Were Mine”
Big Luther, Small Luther…we just miss Luther.
Beyonce f/Jay-Z “Crazy In Love”
Do we need to explain why? Everyone’s favorite couple, the song that makes a million women run to the dance floor the second the beat drops…
Mariah Carey f/ODB “Fantasy (remix)”
Who doesn’t love the classic “Me and Mariaaaaah/go back like babies and pacifiiiiiiiers” along with Dirt McGirt!
