Michelle Obama’s Best Looks Over The Years
Today we say goodbye to our beloved President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama with hearts that are extremely heavy. During the past eight years, the Obamas have shown the utmost class, determination, and strong will while leading this country, and they’ve given us laughs, joy, and, most of all, hope along the way. And as a bonus, good fashion too.
We all know Michelle Obama transformed from wife and mother to international fashion icon Inauguration Day 2009, and as we reflect on her service to this nation as our first Black FLOTUS, we’re also taking a moment to look back at just a few of her best fashion moments.
What a time. I remember the night Barack Obama won pretty vaguely, I was 12 and up way past my bedtime. I was tired but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Sure I knew he was about to become the first black POTUS, but I didn't really recognize the significance because I had yet learned, at 12, that the America that I was living in, that I was born in, still didn't fully accept people like me. Now 20, I know all too well just how far from "post-racial" America is. I didn't always love my President and I didn't always appreciate him but goddamn it's really hard to see him go. THANK YOU. Thank you so much. #PresidentObama #MichelleObama #ObamaFamily #FLOTUS #POTUS #YesWeCan #YesWeDid #GodBlessAmerica #BlessUsAll
It's always really awesome to hear the First Lady talk to young women. She has such great advice about dreaming big dreams and never giving up! I started in the First Lady's Office as intern in Fall 2010 after graduating from @UCSantaBarbara. I never dreamed I would get an internship at the White House, let alone a job. Even though I've worked for the First Lady for over 5 years, sometimes I still pinch myself at the thought of working for such an inspirational woman. Don't miss the First Lady’s #BetterMakeRoom article in the May issue of @Seventeen – it's full of the advice she shares with us every day: Seventeen.com/FLOTUS -Vraz
I am a Native New Yorker in every essence of my being from the place of my birth Brooklyn, New York (Bedford Stuyvesant) at home (214 Mc Dougal Street ) living on Nostrand and Monroe with the Record Store pumping all the latest music, getting lost on the subway, Having my first kiss in Brooklyn, Hanging out with my Cousin Roz on Pitkin Ave, Eating Knishes, and shopping at Alexanders. Yet I have a Chi-Town twist for I was transplanted there to the South Side for many years and this picture of Michelle Obama in its stunning glory shows that Proud Strong South Side of Chicago Superior in Self Love, slightly sultry Female Stance that I allow to surface at times. Michelle Obama Thank You for showcasing that Stellar South Side Vibe in Fashion, Style, Intelligence, and grace. I will miss you. Peace, Blessings and Continued Prosperity for you and yours. #michelleobamaarms #Michelleobama
