The Cast of The Color Purple Close Out Their Final Show With “Total Praise”

January 10, 2017  |

I can’t stand the type of people who try to make you feel bad or inferior for missing out a moment they deem “once in a lifetime.” So I’m not here to shame folks who were unable to catch Broadway’s revival of Alice Walker’s The Color Purple before the show ended its run last night.

What I do want to do is show you how they ended it, giving praise and honor to God. After the final curtain call and the actors honored the special guests in the room, a couple of them being the Clinton’s if my eyes didn’t deceive me, they sang “Total Praise.” Any church-going, Black Christian knows this song and the feelings of reflection and gratitude it produces from the very first sound of the word “Lord…”

If you saw this group of men and women honor Prince after his death, then you know how they shake the walls and change the atmosphere with their voices. Have your Kleenex on deck and be ready to excuse yourself if you’re unable to contain your praise. Take a look at the video below and be blessed.
