Earlier this year our former news writer Jazmine Rogers got engaged several months after our Senior Editor Victoria Uwumarogie. As the two bonded over the struggles of wedding planning in the office, they shared their journey in the column, “The Road to the Altar.” And one week ago, Jazmine took her last step on that road, becoming Mrs. Jazmine Thompson on October 9, 2016.
The whole MadameNoire team was present to watch Jazmine and her husband Keino pledge their love to one another last Sunday afternoon in a beautiful ceremony in Long Island, New York, overlooking the lake.
Jazmine was walked down the aisle by her father after her younger brother escorted their beautiful (and ageless) mother into the intimate ceremony where the bride and groom promised to love and cherish one another ’til death do them part. They also received words of wisdom from their pastor who reminded them, “Marriage isn’t for children.”
At the reception, the MadameNoire team customarily danced to every hustle from the “Wobble” to the “Electric Slide.”
Meanwhile Jazmine snapped pics with all of her guests, many of whom took to the mic to share their excitement for the next chapter in her and Keino’s life.
Congrats to the newlyweds!
