This Is What Went Down At Amber Rose’s Second Annual Slut Walk

October 2, 2016  |

Yesterday (Oct. 1), Amber Rose’s annual Slut Walk in downtown Los Angeles. A completely inclusive space with a zero tolerance policy on all hateful language, racism, sexism, ableism, fat-shaming, transphobia or any other kind of bigotry, the festival recognized that shaming, oppression, assault and violence have disproportionately impacted marginalized groups, including women of color, transgender people and sex workers.

So, with the goal of ending slut-shaming in particular, Rose encouraged those that participated to wear whatever their hearts desired. While some women came topless with pasties covering their nipples, Rose opted for a black corseted bodysuit, fishnet tights, over-the-knee boots and a black lace coat.

With a deep desire to give those marginalized groups a valued voice, Rose’s turn out was amazing, including a number of celebrity appearances. Rose’s friend Blac Chyna came and showed her support, as well as former Playmate Kenda Wilkinson and notorious internet personality Joanne the Scammer.

During the all-day event, the How to Be a Bad Bitch author took many moments center stage to speak on female empowerment. However, several protesters crashed the event, shouting rude words at the women and holding signs that said “Repent or perish.”

Nevertheless, that didn’t stop the new talk show host from her duties of empowering all that showed up for her Slut Walk, posting a video of all the attendees on Instagram with the caption “Epic!”
