With fall underway, it’s time to revamp not only our wardrobe but our makeup kits. Whether you’re into flawless complexions, colorful pouts or bold brows and lashes, there’s certainly always new beauty trends and a handful of tricks on the horizon.

During a recent New York City Fashion Week event, celebrity makeup artist AJ Crimson spilled the tea on his beauty secrets, including ways to transition an eyeshadow look from summer season to fall.

“I love that girls are embracing color and wanting to see tons of color on the eye,” Crimson told UPTOWN Magazine. “But how do we do it in a simple and easy way, where you don’t feel overwhelmed by it?”

“With my clients, we’re experimenting with sheer washes of color on the eye that are vibrant, that kind of give a hint of allure,” he explained. “And then whether it’s rich purples or greens, making the eyeshadow glossy is really great for fall, and leaving the rest of the skin matte.”

Crimson is known for flawlessly enhancing the natural beauty of ladies like Brandy, Cassie and Serayah so we’re more than sure that his tips will have you looking fly this fall.
