Our 7 Favorite HBO Shows…Ever

“True Blood”

When I first heard about this show, I was immediately over it. Another vampire based piece of work? No, thanks. But so many people (folks from all kinds of diverse backgrounds) had soooo many great things to say about the show (or at least season 1), that with the help of an Amazon gift card from an old boss, I went ahead and picked up season 1 while it was on sale. I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s about more than vampires people! It’s like a play on society’s love to discriminate against things and people they don’t understand (“God hates Fangs” is a big quote on the show). And the characters on the show in the little town of Bon Temps, LA are so entertaining and crazy at the same time. Lafayette is hands down my favorite fool on that show. I’m a little behind with the newest seasons, but I’m definitely going to catch up.

Ouch. I totally respect your opinion on this matter but I seriously thought Boardwalk Empire would be a given on any list talking about the best HBO shows. Season 1 was absolutely incredible; it had excellent characters that had very complex qualities to them which made for a great character driven show with the beautiful writing and direction. Season 2 made season 1 look like a pile of steaming turds, it took the show to a whole different level of amazing. Absolutely phenominal show, check it out!
