“I Would Never Shirk My Responsibility” Sherri Shepherd Talks Custody Battle & Says Lamar Sally Is A Swinger
Sherri Shepherd recently sat down with Wendy Williams. And while Sherri is an accomplished comedian and actress, once you get her talking about her personal life, we all want to know what’s going on with her, that trifling ex husband, Lamar Sally, and their custody battle. Well, we know how the custody thing ended. She’s paying thousands of dollars to support his child. And during appearance on “The Wendy Williams” show she addressed those questions and threw plenty of shade at Lamar in the process.
When Wendy asked her if she’d gotten a breast reduction, Sherri said that she’s lost twelve pounds and a husband. And since she was so ready and willing to discuss it, Wendy asked her if she had trouble maintaining her weight with all that she had going on.
Sherri said: “I stressed for a minute. And when you stress, you eat pizza and everything. But once I decided to say ‘I forgive, I let go.’ I started cooking…
Wendy: Forgive who?! The wildebeest?!
Sherri: It has been rough but literally you’ve got to let go and keep it moving.
Wendy: You really do but when you’re paying $4,000 a month…
Sherri: No, more than that.
Wendy: We thought it was $4,000 but with all these jobs…
Sherri: It’s much more than that. This is the thing I want to say. People who know me and you know how much I talk about my son Jeffrey and how much I love Jeffrey. I took care of a grown man for four years, what makes you think I would not take care of his son? I would do that. That is me. You know me. So, I would never shirk my responsibility.
Wendy: Do you ever think you’ll meet the boy, the baby?
Sherri: This is a lot of legal stuff. It’s just too much legalese that I don’t want to go into but know when I do decide to talk— and I will— the tabloids that paid so much money to him to do interviews, are going to want their money back. So, there we go.
Boom! I, for one, can’t wait for the day when Sherri tells her story.
But the tea didn’t stop there. She talked about her date with a younger man. Long story, short, it didn’t go all that well. But when Wendy asked her what type of man she’s looking for, she had this to say.
Sherri: “I want somebody with a job, who makes more than me. I would like to be in a great, healthy relationship. But right now, I’m content. My girlfriends want to set me up…”
Wendy: “That happened with Niecy Nash the first time around.”
Sherri: “But Niecy’s my girlfriend. She got taken. She didn’t know that she was going to set me up with a con artist, an extortionist and a swinger. She didn’t know. I love you Niecy.”
Wendy: Wait, a swinger?!”
Sherri: Pretends to pick up the phone. “Lawyer what? I’m talking too much? Wendy, no they’re going to subpoena you. I can’t say no more on this show. I’m sorry.”
In the rest of the interview, Sherri explains why she won’t be back on “The View,” why she doesn’t regret telling Prince she wanted to make love to him and all of her 50-11 jobs. One thing we can say about Sherri, she won’t let nothing slow her down.
