Ripped From the Runway: Mikki’s Top 5 Fall Makeup Trends

August 26th, 2011 - By Mikki Bey

Although I would love to take credit for coming up with the makeup trends for the fall, the truth is, we makeup artists take our cues straight from the runways. Fresh-faced, barely-there makeup was all the rage at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NY fall 2011 shows. “Less is more,” would be a fitting theme. Think less Lil’ Kim and more Gabrielle Union. When applying makeup for this upcoming season, the focus on should be on bringing your natural beauty to the forefront. Minimal foundation, skipping eyeliner and opting for a vibrant rather than over-the-top lip are just a few of the changes you’ll notice.

Very good tips, will apply to my normal routine when doing my make-up. I actually want try the bushy eyebrows just hoping they grow back because I have been plucking them for a while.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking!!!! Every time I look at Michelle Obama's eyebrows, I think, "YAAAAAS!!! Fan-freakin-tastic!" So I like a sculpted brow. I guess I might be trying to look natural with a sculpted brow….
