Regal, elegant and blessed with an infectious laugh, Meme Omogbai serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Newark Museum, the first person of color of either gender to hold such a high level position in the museum’s 100 year history.

Having worked at the New Jersey Department of Education and the Casino Control Commission, Ms. Omogbai knows a thing or two about how to be successful.  Ms. Omogbai is also the incoming Chair of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Museums, an esteemed position where she is able to influence policy and strategy for all museums in North America. Her 15 years in her current position have also helped to further sharpen her business savvy.
