7 Things You Should Be Doing After a Job Interview

Job interviews are huge. Seeing as how it’s becoming more and more difficult to get people to even look at your resume these days, having the opportunity to get your foot in the door and get to plead your case and qualifications in person is major. Once it’s over, a huge weight is lifted off your back, even if you did poorly. Now it’s time to wait. How agonizing is that? Spending too much time mourning a bad interview with your shoulda, couldas and wouldas or being too cocky about a good one is a waste of time that will leave you crazy if things don’t go your way quickly. So here are a few things you need to do to fill in that time, and to help you keep your dignity intact and your options open.

I agree with Telicia Smith this economic melt down has done its best to eliminate the gains of women and african americans. With such high unemployment do you really think employers will hire black women over white men for top level jobs! Personally having worked for nonprofits it was already difficult to get positions where white men would be subordinates.

This article is right on target for me. I recently went on an interview and everything went great in my eyes. The interviewers were impressed with how well I did and even told me they enjoyed interviewing me. However, I did not get the job. I felt down for a few days because I knew I was getting the job, and one of the interviewers was the person who told me to apply for the position. Because she knew I was qualified for the job. Ultimately the interviewers were not responsible for doing the hiring; Human Resources were.
What should one do to get feedback from interviewers regarding why the candidate did not get the job?

Thank You! This was so important.. I did all of these things after a recent interview for a job I did not get.. thankfully I am still employed.. and now better prepared for the next interview after calling to touch base and find out what I could have said or done differently.
