About This Episode

Ericka Dotson is  a mom, a techie, a shoe fanatic and the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Indique Hair, a premier hair manufacturer/retailer with facilities all over the world. They have a manufacturing facility in India, right at the source for the human hair they use. Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Cassie and Jill Scott rock Indique tresses on the red carpet, but because Indique offers affordable, high-quality products, 9 to 5 ladies can indulge too.

Watch the She’s the Boss interview as Ms. Dotson drops pearls of wisdom on how she successfully runs an international company (in five-inch heels no less), raises a teenage daughter and finds time to be fly and fabulous.

Check out why she’s the boss and scroll down for a special treat from Indique!

Ms. Dotson graciously admits her shortcomings with balancing work and her personal life, but she also offers solid, candid advice to aspiring business women. What are some of the best bits of wisdom you’ve been given about managing your career?

Fell in LOVe with this hair when I saw it on Angela Simmons' PETA ad. Ericka's skin is flawless. I'm loving this series, very inspiring to an aspiring beauty and fashion entreprenuer like myself!

Personally, I think it's possible for each of us to look favorably on anyone who has managed to create a business, grow a business and in the process encourage others to do the same. The interviewers questions allowed the true generous spirit of Ms. Dotson to shine through. She actually shared her process for achieving different textures. My hair has been worn natural all summer long. I'll probably be wearing it pressed and curled this fall. It may be braided for my next vacation to the south. It is wonderful being able to choose what YOU want to do with your hair and not have it determine what you think other people should do with theirs. God bless her ability to help other people see themselves happy.

While I prefer natural hair I am happy for her that she is successful.

I hear most Black men prefer Black women with REAL hair. Why isn't it encourage for Black women to keep their REAL hair. If you want Indian looking hair go to an Indian store and find out what the Indian women use in their hair. Hair after all is hair. I would NEVER WASTE my money on a weave.

  • NEWHAIR5000

well good for her!! it's nice to hear about black women being apart of this industry.

"Finally?"…you clearly are or have been living under a rock…Black Women have been doing it big behind the scenes for years…we just don't get the credit for what we do…independent businesses are the best…cant nobody take credit for your work but you and whoever you bring along for the ride…good for her God has surely blessed her life…
