There is nothing worse than looking at a Facebook friend’s wedding pictures and thinking “her makeup looks a HOT MESS!” I cringe every time I see the cardinal makeup sins committed on one of the most special days of a woman’s life. Here is my guide to beautiful wedding makeup that will turn heads not illicit whispers.

Your wedding day is the most important day of your life, the photos will be around for a very long time. A professional makeup artist knows exactly how to apply your makeup and what products to use. Your makeup has to last the whole day and look as good as when it was first applied. The photos are a huge consideration when getting your makeup done. A professional will know exactly how heavy to apply your makeup.

I don't usually wear lashes, but I got them for the big day and I was not disappointed. I got them done at the Benefit counter, and they did a complimentary makeup trial with me. I had a destination wedding so I was extremely concerned that the lashes wouldn't last the week. Not only did they last the week, they withstood my swimming, snorkeling, and the speed of a power boat.
Just be careful with your eye makeup application if you elect to get lashes.

I cannot stress the importance of having a beauty professional for your wedding. And the key words? "Budget it". I receive so many requests from people wanting their make professionally applied and expect the service to be free. Please understand that your face is very important on that day – it will be seen in all photos and by all guests. This is one feature that needs extra attention – respect the craft and be willing to pay for someone to make you look miraculous.
