Just Married? Don’t be THAT Newlywed

Being married is a beautiful thing, really it is. And even though it’s been nearly a decade since I wore THE white dress, I remember how excited and (probably) obnoxious I was all those months leading to the wedding, but I think I might have been briefly possessed by the ghost of Newly-wed Bridezilla for about six months after we sealed the deal.  Now a bit ashamed about it, I can say actually did some of the following reprehensible (but not really) things. As per usual, I exaggerate for drama, so this stuff might not all be true, but in general, it probably is…

    A husband is just another accessory. Like a new pair of shoes or a car or a house.

    The only people that care if you are married is Uncle Sam. After that… no one gives a f*ck. Go sit down.

    There's a difference between being happy and not afraid to show it..and using your married status as a "told ya so, haters!" to the rest of the world. Especially to women. I refer to my husband by his name – why would I reduce him to just his title? The women who alway say "my husband this" and "my husband that" were the same girls in high school who had "my boyfriend…" on verbal repeat. Ob-nox-ious! As for the ring…well, my husband did me right in that area and I don't have to make extra effort to "flash", lol.

    Ok…I wasnt gonna comment on this now that I am happily divorced….I think marriage is for the very insecure…some people just need a title to fulfill some inner need to be somebody else.

    Sounds like hate to me..I don't need a woman to tell me to sit down, i'm happily married and I can't help but show it. People always trying to tell you what you ahold do..do you, don't worry about other folks! Guess if she saw my wedding ring, she would really puff up!
