Asher and Pippa?

August 2nd, 2011 - By madamenoire

Asher tops the list of hottest boys’ names so far this year and Pippa is #1 for girls. Pippa of course is the cutie pie little sis of Kate Middleton, Prince William’s new bride. Rounding out the top five for boys names are Arlo, Everett, Flynn and Archer.

Elula comes in at #2 for babygirls followed by Elula, Luna, Hadley and Mila.

Do those names sound cute to you? Are there any celebs or celeb children you would name your future munchkins after?

I'm a social worker, so I see weird names everyday such as Darealis (yes, looks and sounds like "the realist" when said out loud but pronounced like "Darryl"), X-Zavier, Mon'Tia (yes, both are spelt that way), and Guano (yes, you read that right). The other day, a mommy came in with her three kids; Alize, Remy and Hennessy. What ever happened to giving babies decent names? Something they could look up to? I mean, I'm all for uniqueness of different spelling of names but then, parents get too ridiculous and don't think straight for the babies!!

I just CAN'T with the names parents give their children, celebrity or not!! I know if it were up to me, if my name was Bunifa Latifa Halifa Shalifa Jackson, I will change my name on my 18th birthday!!

Limejello and Orangello are REAL unfortunately. My mother is a nurse and she was working at a Hospital with two patients with those names. This was way back when I was 10. I'm 27

pippa is a dumb name to me, reminds me of a name of an enchanted animal from a fairy-tale

  • Prissy

I'll take "Pippa" and "Asher" any day over "LaQueshia" "BoonTaka" or any other….. BOON nanny name.

I love the names Asher and Pipa. It's cute and unique and teachers will be able to pronounce them. At least if they enter the workforce their resumes won't be thrown out at first glance.

But I've heard some weird celeb names… Audio Science and Pilot Inspektor are two.

But those that are mentioned are much better them Lemonjello, Orangello, or Cheeto,

    • JustAshley

OMG! Please tell me your joking about "Lemonjello, Orangello or Cheeto."

      • Anna

I wish I was… It was on CNN the other day… Even Don Lemon was ashamed.

        • JustAshley

          LMAO!

  • HeadSmackeroni

Cute? She is hideous and looks 30 years older than her sister, who is lovely.

"Asher" is cool, very British feel to it. "Pippa" is actually a nickname for "Phillipa".
