Widow Beautifully Honors Deceased Husband In Pregnancy Photoshoot

March 3, 2016  |

widowIn January, Nicole Bennett’s husband Deonta died unexpectedly, just two months before she’s expected to give birth to their second child March 25. Deonta had the idea to do a maternity shoot with his wife and their 4-year-old son Laden before her due date, and even though he couldn’t be there in physical form, Nicole did find a way to include her late husband in the final product.

“I wanted to do something special because he’s been there for my son since day one,’ Nicole told ABC News. “It’s memories for my son of his father and for my daughter who will never meet her father, it’s memories for her as well.”

Nicole came up with the idea to digitally add Deonta to the pictures and shared the concept with photographer Sidney Conley who admitted the experience was an emotional one for him as well.

“Just how I edited [the photos] with him looking down on them, it’s showing that he’s making sure they’re okay.”

Nicole and Laden had their shoot at the end of February and when she saw the end result, she called the photos “perfect.”

While their story is very sad, I think that the pictures are a little…tacky.
But it’s her photo’s. If she’s happy with them, then who am I to complain?

Beautiful pictures, sitting at my desk extra emotional. Life just isn’t fair sometimes and I’m so sorry for her loss. I wonder is she has any recordings of his voice that she could add to a recordable book for her kids too. I hope her/his families and friends surround her with lots of love and support.

    • I_am_a_Gladiator/Scandalista

What’s your freaking point, little girl? She can’t be your friend if you are dissing something as beautiful as this. I hope she sees it too. Foh with that negativity. You must be the pettiest child ever. And yes, I said child!

      • Ms_Sunshine9898

actually it’s a he and my point was he put a spin on something previously done before and made it good enough that people forgot this wasn’t an original idea, but something he did well enough to bring attention to.

    • Wow why would you say something like that? The shade is real.

      • Ms_Sunshine9898

I meant that he took something previously done and made it good enough to seem new and get people’s attention but it came across as negative.

  • heyheyno

Wow this is so touching. I’m glad she could find a way to commemorate him.
