With all the technology and information that’s available to kids today – and the ease with which they utilize it – it’s easy to see why they might think they know all there is to know about any and everything, forever and ever, Amen.  But they don’t know anything about what we had and went through before technology really upgraded over the last few years. Before Google, we were doing research papers using encyclopedias. Needed to make a phone call at school? You had to go to the principal’s office. Wanted to have more than one album at your fingertips when you were listening to your music? You would have to bring your CD case with you everywhere. My, oh my, how times have changed. The young’ns don’t even know! Throw these all but extinct words and things at them, and they’re sure to raise an eyebrow or two.

Rolodex

A rolodex was a precursor to cell phones, but say this word to a kid and they’ll look at you like you stepped back into the Stone Age.
